agree 100% as someone whos almost 40, dont have time to be spending on things i hate, leaving comments etc, yet i see it constantly, people choosing to let it affect them enough they felt compelled to comment, recently got accused of "hate watching" when i was agreeing with the person on the channel, thats how messed up this has become, people are so defensive, they come to expect the hate comments and see it where it isnt even there also, was kyle a hero? no, but he also wasnt what the media was trying to paint him as, and because of that media i have friends that literally told me not to talk about it because they didnt wanna argue, so i let it go, but the police in that area failed that community, it shouldnt have come to a civilian to have to defend themselves against rioters (who brought guns across state lines, since thats a common thing people said about kyle, lots of the protesters were from out of town, and some had weapons themselves, he was trying to flee, only turned to fire after hearing a shot while being chased) again, doesnt make him a hero, shouldnt of been in that position in the first place, the police, mayors, and govoners and politicians who let the nightly riots continue in 2020 are to blame imo

The Rittenhouse line I don’t see as an attack or support of him, I think it’s more that elements of the population and media tries to destroy this young man, and other elements celebrated him like a hero instead, capturing this tragic moment in part of the culture war :(

His fists swing left, and they swing right. The fact he's knocking the left more is just an indication of where we are now - or perhaps where they are. I think it might sound different 15 years ago or so, they were a totally different animal - way better than today. I mean they talk about the "Southern strategy" and party re-alignment that followed, but something along those lines happen more recently and the 2 major parties just aren't the same.

@Put Jesus First!!! That's not what he's saying. He had an interview where he said Rittenhouse ruined lives. Rittenhouse is no hero and I wouldn't even call what he did self defense. He put himself in a situation he shouldn't have been in, in a state that he doesn't even live in. He's wasn't even 18 I believe either. Tom is basically pointing out how crazy it is that people are calling Rittenhouse the hero and idolizing him for what he did. Haven't heard much of his music and disagree with things he says in this song but that line was right on the money.

I think the Kyle R. line was more that the media were against him because he defended himself with a firearm but Tom says the heroes are the ones who follow the Constitution hence 2nd Amendment so media cheering on those who arrested Kyle saying they were the heroes while Kyle was the real hero. Kyle was a kid in the wrong place at the wrong time he should not have been there and riots should have been handled by cops but they failed us- he was not a hero - no one there was - from the riots to kyle were intentional and exactly what the gov wanted to happen. nothing more it was all the plan - him getting away with it did not matter to them - if he went to prison division, mad people - if he did not, mad people division - same outcome

It's hard to say... It came across as something he disagreed with... That doesn't mean he's against Kyle in general, just that maybe he thinks other people deserve to be considered heroes more... He had just mentioned the military stuck overseas... Maybe he was calling for perspective?... I'm not sure... After everything Kyle went through, I'm not keen on the negative tone, but I can't fully disagree with Tom if he did mean that... I don't know... I think extra context is required, but maybe you are right.

I think what he was saying, and this is just my opinion, is that while Kyle Rittenhouse might have been justified by reasons of self defense, that doesn't make him a hero to be celebrated. You can celebrate the rule of law and justice being served, if you believe it was, without making Kyle out to be a hero. He was in a bad situation that ended tragically. He might have had no other choice, but it was still a tragedy, not something to be celebrated or something that makes him a hero. That's just my take on what Tom was saying.

Rittenhouse was not a murderer that being said he is definitely not a hero. I completely agree with him on that honestly any form of violence only hurts any cause in the long run. I found out when I got arrested for driving on a suspended license ( wasn't aware it was suspended ) the jail i was in gets $900 per day per inmate. They do not want to let people out its a cash cow. Great reaction and breakdown as always.

I get what you're saying and all, but that isn't the only way it goes down in jails and prisons. Look at New York City, for example: people commit crimes, are booked and quickly released, and are out the next day committing more crimes. In blue states, such as New York and California, this is a common occurrence. The state governments are trying to ease up the sentencing of extremely violent crimes for people 25 and younger (leftists claim that they are too young at that age to know not to kill and rape people, which is completely idiotic). I agree that it's definitely a cash cow, but it's also a political tactic from the left so they can get more votes from these people. Either way, it's messed up.

Difference is Rittenhouse did not get violent. He ran from it until he had to defend himself. Not a hero either. Nor does he call himself one. He does not like it when people call him one. He fought for his life.

A young soldier was arrested not too long ago for whistleblowing that on social media if I recall. I'm sure "they" are trying to bury it. He said the US had boots on the ground in Ukraine right now after the government keeps claiming we don't. Someone's lying and I'm sure it's the government.

The line got me at first too, bc I’m used to defending him to ppl calling him a murderer. However, he just did what any American should be allowed to do. He was extremely skilled at knowing when his life was truly endangered but not “hero” in how, IMO we ultimately define a hero… someone that put their own life on the line to give their lives to save others. Just my opinion. Someone can fact check me, but I’m pretty sure even Kyle has said he doesn’t consider himself a hero nor wants to be. He’s a kid that had his name thrown in the mud that just wants to be a dang kid. I guess that’s the only reason I wish Tom did put him in the song, bc I think Kyle just wants all this past him, but it’s such a powerful statement, I get why he did. Everyone, even myself, needed a sec to process that gut hitting line.

@@CJtheRedhead that's where I disagree you don't take high powered weapon to a volatile situation unless you have the intention of using it media has a funny way of portraying stuff if the person he had killed was white they would have never brought into fact he had a criminal record to discredit him Kyle isnt a hero isn't even close to being one but optics is beautiful thing if that whole situation was reversed and it was a black person killing a white person with a criminal record you think the same result would had happen I wish I could say yes but the media wouldn't had been the same

I hear you, but the kid literally stopped a mob from lighting a gas station on fire with a dumpster fire. Then had to run from the mob until he was put in jeopardy and had to defend himself. The police and the government failed Kyle. So so so thankful justice actually prevailed, and the woke mob didn't get what they were hoping for.

A hero is someone that goes above and beyond. Rittenhouse was a hero for washing walls and protecting property but just did the right thing in protecting himself.

Although arguably maybe that should be what people do anyway, so shouldn't be considered heroic... And arguably the police and army have to deal with worse on a much regular basis... Don't get me wrong, I support Rittenhouse and think what happened to him was terrible, but I can see how calling him a hero is potentially a bit much... Although he's probably still a lot more heroic than me >_>;

Don't forget, he also brought a medkit and provided medical care for injured protesters. That's all on video. What got him attacked was putting out a fire. And yes, he did what he had to do just to not get killed himself, trying to flee the entire time.

While it may upset people, Rittenhouse didn't act like a hero. He acted like a scared teen and had to use self defense, like others do daily. However I will say it was great everyone came together to make sure he got a fair trial and didn't get railroaded by liars and bullies.

Tom has always said we don't have to agree on everything. Look at his mentor, he loves Slim Shady, but does NOT agree with everything he says or does. So I can be a fan of Tom and still say Kyle IS a Hero. Love your stuff KH
