Super handy alright, You must do a collab with nerdforge, really nice leather work/staining/burnishing etc maybe inspire a new genre like leatherpunk , you could possibly reduce it to only leather eg. only like slits for the belt attachment, it has a cowboy vibe maybe need a architectural laser measure/level too

Fastcap tape measures can easily be written on with pencil. The PMMR-TRUE32 Metric version and the Flat Back version are what I use. Advent Vice Versa tape measures are marked on all four 'sides' - ideal for lefties! (not that compact compared to that Stanley though) I use Hultafors Talmeter for installs - it allows you to transfer your measurement by markings rather than reading the value. It also makes quick work of internal measurements.

Also, saddlemakers use two needles and two threads at the same time. Picture 2 snakes coming toward each other, then away !

Hello, you may want to try a saddle stitch with two needles and a punch for sewing leather. You'll get the same result, but much quicker and with less difficulty. Basically you enlarge the hole and you criss cross the needles until the end, do a couple of back stich and done.

For a visual 1 inch (2.5cm) reference, check the length from knuckle to the end of a finger or thumb, one is likely approximately an inch in length. I noticed this on myself years ago, dominant hand forefinger is wanting from knuckle to tip ... which also I learned and used as a reference for 2.5cm as I've been trying to learn a similar sense for metric. 😂🤣

Cobgratilations on the family and LA project. Love the tape mate. I hook my tape on my pants pocket. I just moved and now can't find my tape measure. Guess I need to make a tape mate and buy a new tape. Metric is so much easier. I use it now for sewing and card making. I used kilos when i lived in Spain . But in US is pounds so I have not used metric until I decided cm, mm was easier for sewing. I'm I'm LA now. Maybe I'll meet you some day. I'm a maker. I used to do a little wood working. Should have used netric. Metric would have been easier. Maple is my favorite too.

Missed the live stream. Some suggestions, some folks like the curved leather needles - also, having a needle nose pliers to grab the needle can help. Using beeswax on the thread helps, too.

It’s possible to buy an imperial tape measure withe the fractions written on it. In Canada we use both systems. This is weird. I love my tape measure with the fractions.

I use millimetres…due to working in a sign company. I’m now very grateful as i hate the other versions 😜

all my tape measures have text on both sides, Bosch 5m, Lufkin shockforce 5m (my favorite) and Hultafors talmeter 3m. (the two first ones are the wide type btw, and all are ofcourse metric)

The tape-mate is not new. I have seen it a year ago or longer in a LCLY-video, where the boss man uses it in the woods to measure lengths of felled trees. It looks nice though...

I live in Ohio USA, metric is way easier, standard measurement is terrible.
