GAME 1: Mario Sunshines @ Yoshi Islanders
It's time for opening day of Mario Superstar Baseball's challenge mode! I will be using Mario on the Mushroom difficulty setting to get things started, but future captains to use on higher difficulties will be voted on by you, the viewers.
Baseball is all the rage lately, but Bowser wants to shake things up by challenging his rivals to form a team to play against his elite collection of players. Mario has a team straight from Isle Delfino, but it seems as if it could use a bit of work. Thus, he decides to challenge Yoshi's team in hopes of recruiting some of his players. Yoshi has the cast of Super Mario World 2 on his side, though, and might prove to be more challenging than Mario initially thought. Who will emerge victorious on the first game of Mario Superstar Baseball? Find out in this video!

Some of the star characters are very irritating to get, so I'm not sure how many of them I'll actually be able to unlock. I try to do as many as possible, though, so we'll see how that goes! =)

@@jasminejohnston6393 that’s baby Mario baby Luigi’s missions are not that hard for booted ball here’s what you do select star level first then pick yoshi as captain play in Mario stadium force two Nokis in base just bean them then put baby Mario as pitcher cause Mario’s star swing counts as an error it’s luck but it’s Doable you have to make him use stars and hope it bounces off inside field then have baby Mario catch it I literally attempt it on my first try but make sure you save your game so if it doesn’t work soft reset every time in my opinion diddy and Dixie’s last missions are terrible you basically put them in outfield and hope they hit against the wall so they can clamber it’s harder than booted ball only because I have a Strategy of getting it even toadettes note block is hard I highly recommend using power bat for that one and oh boy Mario’s perfect game is a pain in the ass best is just mercy rule in 1st inning or just get lucky with Mario’s pitching cause they will often get base hits not easy

Monty Mole's character description in MSS is pretty accurate to what he's actually capable of. It says that he's "A skilled bunter with good speed", and whenever I bunt with him, as long as the ball goes to the left, Monty can make it to first base without getting tagged out. Only true in Super Sluggers though, so don't experiment with that in MSB!

I remember playing this criss cross Apple sauce in front of my fat tv that I used to hover my hand over everytime I turned it on because it shocked my hand. I loved my GameCube and toke it for granted. I think GameCube has an amazing library and I think everyone toke it for granted.

A save situation occurs any time the losing team has a chance to have the tying runner at the plate. So it would be 3 runs. Also it would be a save situation if the losing team were down by 4 runs with the bases loaded.

I remember this game from my childhood and it brings back memories. To get this game back, I spent over $100 dollars on a gamecube just to play this game. Money well spent.

A save opportunity is when a pitcher who is not the winning pitcher has the tying run either on base, at the plate, or on deck. So, you would have to give up 2 baserunners in a 5-1 game, as well as sub a pitcher in for Mario, before it's a save situation.

The Piranha Plants are the best. I once got an inside the park home run with Wario at Yoshi Park because the leftfielder had run into a Piranha Plant and the centerfielder just stood there like an idiot while I circled the bases.

theenglishman yeah, same goes for the Freezies in Peach's Ice Garden in MSS; I can't tell you how many inside-the-park home runs I've scored due to idiotic fielders doing nothing and when they try to do something they brush the Freezies and get frozen solid. It's ridiculous!

I'm not sure but if you happen to hold in the A button and release it at the right time after the pitcher pitches the ball, you'll be able to hit the ball much further and not only that, but if you happen to charge up your hit, use your star swing, and hit it on the sweet spot, (varies from player to player) you'll be able to instantly hit a home run. However by doing so, it consumes all of your start points and I think you need all 5 of your star points to do it.

Something that WILL scare you about captain & sub-captain star missions: They CAN & WILL get VERY BS! Example: Mario's 9th star mission: Pitch a perfect game and win! This is tricky because you can only do captain missions 9 & 10 on the highest difficulty, where each game is 5 innings. Besides that, the computer is the equivalent to a damn troll.

Justin Hughes I heard that someone almost completed that mission. Everything was going great, with two strikes and two outs while pitching to Shy Guy...then Shy Guy hits the ball into the field and the fielder who was in the circle bobbles the ball and sends it over the fucking fence!

It's better if you charge the bat during the pitcher's wind-up. If you charge up too long, the batter's power decreases quickly, so you'd only get ground-balls or pop-flys.

ERA stands for earned run average and the first run wasn't earned,it was a error so mario still had a perfect era

Mushroom level I honestly think it’s between normal to weak difficulty cause they sometimes use stars not always until the higher levels and watch out for random homers cause they are good and perfectly adjusted intelligence has happened to me against them in the easiest difficulty I even lose a game once but hardly

9:30 it would be an era of 9.00 as he gave up one run in one inning and it's runs per 9 innnings so you multiply that by 9.

ERA: Earned Runs Allowed Per 9 Innings. so mario and yoshi’s ERA after inning one is 9.00, or in this case 3.00 because of 3 innings

Hey, some advice Shadow. You shouldn't charge your swing so early. When you see that shock wave come out from under your character, then the swing will be most powerful. Time your swings so you hit the ball right when or right after it comes out. Not 4 seconds after XD

What do you think of the Wii Mario Baseball, Super Sluggers? I thought it was ok, but not even close to this one. The single player was a bit better, but overall a very average game.

To help with this Mario gave up 0 Earned runs because of an e9 and a save situation is 3 run lead or less or 3 innings of relief 1 run Unearned
