One week to solve this crime! I have no idea who did it - who killed Bill?

Is anyone else finding Oliver to be Mr. Convenient? First, he always has tech--which is sort of okay since he was working for Andy and has been there for a while, so it makes some sense. But he was a big districting song and dance number throughout episode six. He shows up just as Lee and Darby are planning to go to Bill's room and tries to redirect them. When that fails, he pleads to go along. Darby noticed something when smelling Bill's clothes. Oliver distracts her with a joke. When they're looking at the doorbell camera video with the obvious light flash, Oliver dismissively says it's an empty hall. When that doesn't work, he gets the book and gives it to her. I have a 12 week old puppy right now and I would hire Oliver to distract him from chewing on my furniture because the guy is a pro.

I’m hoping Bill is still alive and the image was a projection of him and he had left a message for her about that in her book. The part where he went off the grid. So I think he’s working behind the scenes pretending to be dead. I think Andy is an Ai and is trying to try to take over the world by eventually killing every human. Not sure if Ai Ray is good or bad.

Early in the show Oliver shows Sian that he can easily manipulate someone’s voice to say anything he wants using AI. There are multiple scenes showing Ray censoring information from Darby. They even make it a point to show you that Andy’s voice obviously has clearance when Darby asked for the same information but was denied. Then in this last episode, Oliver questions how Darby gained access to the network. So I am willing to bet that Oliver used Andy’s fake voice to gain clearance to all information from Ray. But I still don’t have a clue as to Oliver’s motives.

So so happy that this podcast is getting the attention and interaction it deserves! They have consistently produced amazing, intelligent(sometimes 😂) and hilarious shows. As for what’s going on, I really hope it’s gonna be a ‘coo coo bananas, how wild can we go’ ending but I’m afraid it will be a standard straightforward Megalomaniac Andy is the killer ending. The outrageous theory I have is that Darby did it all herself after being rejected by Bill. She stalked him, thus finding out about Zoomer etc. So all this happened in real life but what we are seeing is her interpretation of it as her mind is broken. Sounds ludicrous but better than ‘it was all a dream’ 🤣

Bill cant be alive! Darby went to investigate his corpse the next day and he was still there. What was he just sleeping? I think we forget that in episode 1 Lu Mei said she would give her phone to her head of security. She is seen walking into the hotel with him maybe hes still there killing for her. Also Sian died accidentally because the helmets got switched in the car when the car tumbled.

Can we just appreciate how awesome this show is 😅 there are so many possible solutions til the very end. I really enjoy it no matter how it all will turn out. The mental institution theory is something that popped up in my mind as well. Doesn’t Darby behave like someone who got traumatised and doesn’t know how to deal with it?! If the silver doe killer shot himself why got so much blood spilled on Bill? And why was the window sill behind them full of blood? Wouldn’t that be a very strange angle? And the way Darby behaves towards Bill afterwards. Isn’t that kind of cold… she doesn’t really show empathy. I believe Bill got shot and died in the basement. Maybe the killer shot himself too afterwards. That would explain the blood everywhere. And because Darby fell into a state of shock, she was like running on autopilot, suppressing her emotions and conjuring up a world, where Bill survived. She was the one, who drowned his laptop and phone in the bathtub and she was the one who wrote the note on the mirror, so his absence would make sense. The retreat is some form of virtual therapy. I think Lee and Oliver are therapist. This feels like a therapeutic session, when they suggest she should read the last chapter. They want her to face the truth. Bill wears the black crow tattoo at the retreat, but not in her memories. A sign, that he was dead the whole time. So why did the others die?! If this hotel is a virtual reality to help cure Darby, she is the one, who’s in control, her subconscious filling it with ppl and meaning. Maybe she grew up in an abusive environment, that’s why she projected Lee in one. The weird way the rooms are numbered from top to bottom plus the secret refuge in the basement, like the construction of a mind starting at the shallow surface and making its way down to the subconscious. What do Rohan and Sian mean to Darby, what do they symbolise? Rohan was supposed to be a way out for Lee. Sian was supportive of Darby’s curiosity. Maybe Darby’s subconscious pictured them as a threat to what she decided to be true - that Bill didn’t die in the basement. Maybe Todd is protecting her truth, maybe he’s symbolising the part in her, that fights everyone and everything to protect what she wants to believe to be true. Going by this, Bill would have died in the basement and the virtual Bill was killed by Lee (probably knows the code to the medicine cabinet) and Oliver (didn’t get caught on camera) to start the therapy. Then Rohan and Sian were killed by Darby’s subconscious, what is manifested by Ray in the virtual reality. The scene when someone pushes her on the ground and holds a phone near her ear, was Todd as well. Remember Darby herself is the conscious part of her. The part that’s curious, the part that’s rational and wants to solve the mystery. Her subconscious, which knows the truth, which knows, how much pain the facing of the trauma would cause her, protects her through Todd by threatening her to stop searching.

I found it interesting when Sian told Darby that Zoomer was the center of Andy’s life but not Lee’s. She wasn’t sure what Lee loved. However, Zoomer’s trust fund makes a tremendous amount of money.

Sian died because she switched helmets in the car with Darby. Darby was the target.

Not that it has anything to do with anything at this point, but for just a second I thought that the SDK was going to be Darby's dad.

If Ray doesn't end up being, at least, involved in all the killings, the whole technology and "bad programing" thing would be completely pointless. Because they keep talking about it, I mean they made it the center of the show. But also, if that's the case, how is the silver doe story connected to all of the present events? It wouldn't make sense if it isn't.

I think it's Ray using zoomer to do the killing. Using the Augmented reality "game" zoomer was doing missions to unlock the morphine, unlock Bill's door, give it to him, not realizing what he was doing. And hacked the pacemaker and sians helmet inside the game as tasks disguised as something else. He probably thought he was giving potions and unlocking doors to progress in the game.

Just watched eps 5 and 6 back to back, so I'll share my thoughts on both of my killer suspects, who I believe are working together, right here: It's Oliver and Lee. For Oliver, my suspicion was piqued by what Ziba said at the campfire. "4 is the tipping point. With 4 you have a revolt." I think Bill and Rohan came to the retreat with a plan in place to revolt against Andy's plan to create a climate refuge for the wealthy elite, and their deaths were a means to put down that revolt. Then you get another (symbolic) revolt at the campfire. What's one of the first things the Establishment does to try to put down a revolt? They send in a mole. Oliver shows up as the 5th member in the campfire club. Because he's the one trying to put down the revolt. But wait, this theory has a glaring hole blown in it in episode 6, because Lee offers an alternate narrative for Bill and Rohan's plans. According to her, they were there to help her escape with Zoomer. But there's one detail of the story she told Darby that has me convinced she's lying. Lee's story claims that Andy is fiercely protective and possessive of Zoomer, which just CANNOT be as true as she portrays it. We know that because of what happened after Rohan died. They all went to that bunker/panic room/whatever. All except Andy- JUST. Andy. I can absolutely buy that Lee would be with the other guests, but there is *no* *way* *in* *HELL* that the Andy from Lee's backstory isn't bringing Zoomer with him to his private panic room. That story was not real. Lee cannot be trusted.

Another comment, I'm not sure how much morphine was in that pen but it seems to be premeasured. That would not kill someone with a tolerance for opioids. I know Bill hit his head. Could someone have felt bad for Bill and Darby got the events that killed Bill backward? They hit him on the head and then gave him the opioid so he didn't die a painful death. That would be someone that cares for Bill, Lee. And the flashback at the book reading, when Darby used Lee's code to open the garage door and it opened every garage on the street didn't Darby comment about bad coding?

My theory: Zoomer murdered Bill accidentally. He got on a stool, put in the code that he would probably know because Andy probably talks about it or writes it on memos so Andy can remember it. He played doctor with Bill, and before Bill noticed it was poison, he died. Andy, seeing the crime scene, gets Todd or just Andy himself to wipe clean the syringe and then Andy hacked the security cameras or Zoomer was actually so short, the cameras didn’t see him. Andy, now wanting to cover his son’s tracks, he programs Ray with something that’ll make him kill people virtually. Either Ray or Andy hacked into the pacemaker, murdering Rohan, knowing he was the masked man (or just to cover their tracks) and hacked into the helmet and car to murder Darby and Sian, and when that didn’t work, Andy threatened Darby and Ray hacked into Sian’s living box (i have no idea what the heck that’s called) to cut off Sian’s life support. Remember what Bill meant when he said the Silver Doe Killer was “faulty programming”, he meant like, I can’t explain, but, there was an episode of this show called “The Incredible Hulk”, where Banner saves a child being abused, and at the end of the episode, it is revealed the father was abused too as a child, see what I mean? If Andy is actually violent and rude as Lee claims, and Bill didn’t know Zoomer wasn’t Andy’s child, yet knew Andy wasn’t “Father of the Year” material, he would call Zoomer’s DNA from Andy’s side “faulty programming”.

I believe Andy is 100% "charging" in his life extension therapy & is a robot created by Lee or Bill ( maybe both)"faulty programming" that turned faulty. I think it's possible Zoomer killed Bill playing doctor with his VR toy( typed before you said it). After episode 5, I wrote on Dizmodo, that Bill was behind this. I will hate this series if this ends with some sort of virtual reality or dream. Bill did say to paraphrase "I would have to be dead for you to love me " to Darby. Bill was opposed to tech & saw it's dangers. The antithesis to Andy & his beliefs. Why was Darby invited by Andy anyway? I feel I think it's right in front of our faces but we aren't seeing it!

I’m rewatching the first 6 episodes ahead of the finale, and noticed something I didn’t pick up on before. Lu-Mei makes a point of telling Andy what a good poker player Lee is, she says Lee took a lot of her money on the night that Bill died. It’s subtle but it implies there’s more to Lee than meets the eye, and she’s good at hiding it. Is her story about Andy’s abuse a bluff? Or is she just bluffing Andy until she is able to escape. And what else does Lee know that she’s not letting on?

Darby does seem very naive. Considering what she’s seen. Just accepts what she’s told. Tells a sole person all the information she knows. Hopefully it has been solvable too!

Bill got shot in the house and passed, then the show is Darby processing the event? Or it was the AI dogs!

I don’t know who did it but Andy and Lee couldn’t have been talking to Bill about being Zoomers dad because apparently Lee didn’t know Zoomer was Bills. The other guest must have something to do with the murder or this story because why are they at the retreat. The bad programming could also refer to Ray as being the murderer. What about solving the silver doe murder and witnessing that death made Bill go against technology? That’s what I can’t figure out. Idk, I have a feeling I’m going to be disappointed in the killer because none of this is making sense.

Lee is still a bit too sketchy for me to be taken off of the Suspects List. That Morse Code message that Darby got from the flickering lamp, meet at the pool, not wait in the pool for the meet! A WTH moment for me was the flashback to the serial killer's home. Darby, gets the washing machine, I'm thinking, yeah, stand on it and bust out of the basement window! Yeah, no... I'm not a fan of Bill but yeah, he saw the red flag & wanted out. I can understand why he went full Ghost Protocols with Darby... Stoked to see how this series wraps up! It's been a fun ride & the content here is a great follow up after watching the episodes! We'll be back & Thanks for the Quality Content here!

I'm suspicious of Lee. What was she really looking for in Bill's room? And Darby fed her that line about the Morse code in the lights and Lee just said yeah! Like sure! It was totally me that said that thing you just told me.

Why was Lee in Bills room looking for something when Darby was hiding?? Andy mentioning hardware and software and how andy combined two AI pieces of software to form Ray feel like the answer. Given that one piece of software was the home security system, i think AI ray is listening to everything and anything that is deemed a potential threat is eliminated. I think Zoomer is impressionable enough where hes carrying out things without knowing fully what hes doing. Final answer.

Pretty sure it’s been said around here and most likely on Reddit but Sian I don’t think was the intended target. They took their helmets off and put them down in the backseat. Then after the crash Darby didn’t put one back on. I think that was meant for Darby, sian grabbed the wrong helmet after the crash

I think it’s Ray. And when Ray needs a human he manipulates someone to do what he needs. But the actual hacking and plan is masterminded by Ray.

Bill did what I expected him to do he was going to take a bullet for her and she wanted to talk about "appreciating" the killer, I understood what she meant but it was too soon

I have to say this show has too many characters, even the side characters don’t get much arch, like, me and my mother were going through suspect lists on the show from ScreenRant and apparently Todd and Eva (remember them? No? Neither have I!) and apparently their married! Me and my mother were shocked at this because (again) the side characters aren’t getting character archs!

Having to invite someone in before they can enter(Ray), and it’s at Bill’s door aka FANGS… vampires obv have to be invited in to one’s home and can’t just enter. Now I can think of multiple metaphors or reasons for what his Pseudonym stands for or hints at… but if it’s Ray at the door, and FANGS isn’t just a way to say sink your teeth into something real, or a first point of contact, or what one uses To chew sustenance needed to survive etc etc etc that would make sense, there’s more but I think I made my point. I won’t rant further lol

Ray obviously did it. He's sentient to some degree he's shown that. He is probably obsessed with Andy and will do anything to make sure Andy is okay. He can hear everything. Maybe bill said in a call he knew zoomer was his kid and Ray heard that. He can hear everything. Or even about bills unknown plan to take down Andy.

Who was invited by who? Lee and Andy are playing such a big role that I think if we can figure out who invited who then we can find our killer pretty easily. I think Andy invited David, Lu Mei, and Martin but I’m not sure who else. It would make sense he invited Sian and Oliver but I think Lee said Bill and Darby were Andy’s invites. Lee I think invited Rohan and David since they are helping her. I think if we can figure out with certainty who was invited by who it would lead us to the killer

I too have a feeling that Darby was seeing an augmented Bill through the window. The whole story I very Agatha Christie ish.

is the AI, as Bill pointed out in the book: is just error code malfunction thingy. which makes sense. I think the AI sees all these smart people as a threat to its own existence.

The dead guests were/are not - entirely, or partly - human. You can’t murder an android/cyborg, but they can murder their programmer: paranoid Andy. It’s A Murder, remember. Not Murders.

The scene where Lee is cleaning up the broken cups is out of place. It didn't happen right before the dinner. I think it's from a previous iteration of the simulation they're in. Or some kind of memories. There's something with time here...

What if the silver doe killer didn't die. What if the killer is at the retreat?

When I watched the episode where Darby and Siann were in the car wreck, there was a short scene where Darby put her helmet behind the driver seat. When Siann could not get the helmet off, I thought it had been meant for Darby.

I agree something feels off. Remember the bad coding comment at the end of the episode. People who can code include Lu Mei, Lee, Andy, Oliver and possibly others. People that are influenced by code Ray and possibly Zoomer. Also why were we shown those ant robots that build and Martin's movie. Why are so many things that are from Darbys past and things people say suddenly show up in the next murder (like Sian saying her father died due to lack of oxygen then that is how she dies). Something doesn't add up.

I’ve enjoyed this series so far, but for some reason I didn’t like this episode. It makes me not feel confident at the last episode is going to deliver, and that the payoff won’t be very good. Hope I’m wrong. But I don’t know how they’re going to deliver a satisfying ending.

I think in the end it will be a unfinished script for a True Crime book, a hint could be that almost everyone who is not a main character is called Jane Doe or Jon Doe. Unrelevant characters who will be named later 😁👍🏼

After watching this episode, I think I am on board the "Ray is the killer" train, at least to some extent. I'm not sure the mechanics of it (maybe Ray manipulated Zoomer to give Bill the injection, as some people had speculated Zoomer did), but something about that focus on "faulty programming" definitely has me thinking Ray is playing a part, likely trying to protect Andy out of loyalty (that being the principle of the actions, at least). At the least, I really don't buy Liu Mei as a suspect, at least not based on anything we've been given so far. I don't buy Eva, either, at least not as an intentional killer, though she may have been manipulated into facilitating or even causing a death or two. While I do think Ray may have played a part in the deaths, I don't think Andy is *intentionally* the killer either - he may be at fault, people (and Ray) doing things they think he'd want or to protect him (and in Ray's case, possibly because of Andy's faulty programming of Ray), but he didn't *mean* for the things to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if Oliver has been "on the wrong side" in this, he came off way too suspicious to me this episode, felt like the guy planted with the detective to keep an eye on the investigation and derail it or flag it when the detective gets too close. I like the "Bill isn't dead, he just needed to get the spotlight off him" theory, though I don't think it's right. I'm not sure Bill leaving the way he did was "the right thing to do", but it's an understandable thing, at least - he was traumatized, Darby didn't seem to be either willing or able to connect on that level, he realized he needed to leave. Actually, one thing that has surprised me, looking back on the show after 6 of 7 episodes: how little I remember some of the characters. When Oliver showed up in this episode, my immediate response was "oh right, this guy exists, I forgot about him", and similarly for Martin being mentioned in this video, and Ziba showing up in the prior episode. On the other front: I may not always enjoy what she's written (The East felt like an interesting idea that never came together, I have issues with The OA), but I really want to commend Brit Marling's directing over this series. Emma Corrin's acting also remains a great anchor for this series.

I just got caught up on all the episodes. Fun Show! I don't think it will be a child killer. But I do agree that AI Ray is involved and there is something related to him taking everything literally. Still don't buy into the motive. If it was all a plot to get Lee not to leave, why not just kill Lee? A wheelchair would be under the camera, since we know that Oliver is not always in his wheelchair....someone could have grabbed it to get past the camera (no hacking involved for the first kill.)Will be curious how this unravels at the end. I hope they nail the ending!!!

What? First thought out the bat after listening to the first part. What? If Lee made the choices she made, trying to leave, of course Andy would move them to a move secluded place after.

Could my first ever theory about the show (Lu Mei killing Bill) be correct? ‘Eh, I hope not because I’ve just convinced myself that Lee is the murderer

The thing is, there's something more Lee is not saying outright (maybe to not get her into the suss list), I noticed the way she kind of grimaced quietly when Darby was reciting about her past (being doxxed, etc)... I wonder how she and Andy got together. I think it's either Lee or Andy or both. But it's not as straightforward, because Bill gave the clue of a malfunction. I wonder if malfunction can point to the malfunctioning AI (Ray--not quite malfunctioning thou, someone did something to it, someone either Andy or Lee). There's a possibility that Lee was setting Andy up because of her wish to run away with Zoomer and to get out of his grip. Andy will not let go of Zoomer periodth. Someone brought up the possibility that Zoomer was the one who injected Bill, this is a possibility since he's short enough to be captured by the doorcam. But Zoomer didn't knowingly kill Bill, he was 'guided' to do this.. Another theory is, Andy was the megalomaniac, trying to get rid off the bio father of Zoomer first, then cripple Lee's plan to run off with Zoomer. The whole thing is for Zoomer. Both parties are guided by their attachment for Zoomer, either way, whomever the culprit is.

Where is the shot of Bill and Darby at 12:07 from? I don't remember it in the show!

I don’t trust Lee. She talks about how controlling Andy is with Zoomer (controlling his intake of food to the gram) but Zoomer attends school? He’s not homeschooled or tutored? I am thankful that they finally presented a reasonable explanation as to why Darby was invited to the retreat. I don’t believe Andy is the killer. He could have managed Lee’s death and covered it up without any of this.

Zoomer did it, with Andy in control. It's like Get out.

First of all Bill is an adult why would he let a child inject him. He definitely would have recognise that it's a real syringe. I still suspect Andy as the killer but i have my eye on Lee too.

I am loving this show so much, I can't wait to watch it every week (and your videos always make me think). Honestly one of the best shows I've seen. I have a couple theories on it myself, but the show pokes holes in both. 1 is as you said in the video, Zoomer(especially after what Bill said in this episode about faulty programming), but take the faulty programming line as being literal rather than symbolical. Zoomer is using his helmet thing (maybe playing a doctor game?) and the helmet is the faulty programming and actually causing him to kill rather than help, and being young, he's unaware of what he's been doing because of the game. Sian's helmet injury is a hole in this situation, though her actual death could fit into it since Darby was in the bathroom when she died. Darby getting trapped in the pool is also a kind of hole in this situation, because why? If Andy or Lee realised what Zoomer is doing, would they not stop him from using the helmet altogether? My 2nd theory is a bit of an out there theory (and I'd hate for it to be this because it's quite similar to the dream theory), it's another this all isn't actually happening. The Silver Doe killer didn't kill himself when they found him, he killed Darby and all this is her obsessive imagination making things up in her mind (similar to all the victims they researched maybe or what she thinks happened?) as she dies. What made me think this is all the times Darby's been injured/in the worst danger. Have you noticed she always recalls the past in these situations, save for reading the book this episode? The hole in this is the reading the book past flashback though, as we see the Killer shot himself and Darby sees who he is. Ihonestly can't wait to find out who did it and if the Silver Doe Killer was *actually* Frank Bell (we didn't see his face in the flashback)

I love and enjoy ALL the theories. A interesting thought I had was what if Todd was the son of Frank and Patricia Bell? That would be a fun twist. Todd is pretty violent of a guy. I don't know how that would fit into everything? but I want to see a clear connection with this storyline in Iceland and the past story line. I have always felt Eva and Todd/ Marius were baddies

Hey Double P.! Didn't enjoy this ep. First, Sian was well enough to talk, but then died, and no one is asking why? Sherlock Holmes never accused anyone, he only asked questions, until the very end when he almost always got everything right. Darby is wrongly accusing person after person and, unless she knows Ray is watching her and is playing dumb, she is NOT a Gen Z Sherlock! If it does turn out that Andy is behind it all, and I don't think he is, that would be the most boring ending of anything that Brit and the Batman have ever done. Yeah, I was right about Darby being rescued and who died from the gunshot in the past, but this ep seems to show that there is no real link between the killings in the past and those in the present? Ep 7 had better bring it!

FINAL ANSWER: Who killed Bill? Bill (suicide). Why? To frame Andy for his own murder. Who killed Rohan and Sian? Andy. Why? To frame Lee for Bill, Rohan, and Sian's murders. How can Darby prove it? Ray kept a record of whatever Andy tampered with and Darby will exploit his faulty programming to trick him into revealing it. Who is the knife-wielding accomplice? Todd, but he feels guilty about it.

I think Andy is grooming Zoomer so he can take over his body when/before he dies.. or he’s using zoomer in some way or form with his life preserving treatments..the workers there know as they are paid well to keep quiet. the faulty programming is something in Andy zoomer or ray or some combination. Something isn’t going as planned for Andy. Maybe everytime Andy tries entering zoomers consciousness ray interferes and things go bad.. it does seem like he’s only killing the good guys though.. Lee is weird but I guess the story makes sense.., why make all that up with 1 episode left just to have to undo it.. I’m sure there’s gonna be several twists though likely with literally EVERYONE..except Martin
