This whole part with Mat near the end of the book was horrible, Mat was doing great and really getting the spotlight he needed only to be teared down by Egwhine and co. despite saving them ? Then to just be ignored by everyone ? Then insulted again by Nyneave at the end of the book ? Like wtf ?

After Mat opens the cell door, Nyneave and the other two's top priority is to throw shit at him instead of getting out of there and free themselves from being shielded from the One Power.

Nyneave was written as a extremist feminist. Very loathe of men and more so of needing their help. If she didn't have such a passion for healing people, she would have made a perfect Red.

@@billybegood466I disagree, at least as of my reading of book 4. She finds Mat and Rand foolish, but she was their village's wisdom, and Mat (dragging Rand with him) pulled the foolishness of the village. She doesn't hate Loial, Domon, or Lan. She's quick to call them fools at times, as she is quick to call Egwene or Elayne fools. Meanwhile she hates Moraine, the Seanchan, the Black Ajah, and Aes Sedai in general. Maybe that scene was odd, but she was very very angry and in trouble. Mat's grin usually causes that trouble, it would probably be disorienting to see him in a savior role, and unlike her normal self, she even realized she was somewhat the fool for not being thankful She might be a feminist, and she certainly thinks men are often wool brained and stubborn, but I don't think she hates men fundamentally. She's just a bit grumpy at all fools because she never had the chance to be a foolish kid.

that’s the beauty of it. the first two he’s the central character and in this one he runs, and when you do see him it makes it that much more dramatic. When the merchant and her guards come to his camp you are completely surprised by the outcome

Yeah this book should really be called "Aemon Reborn" lol This is where Mat starts taking over as most people's fav. Up till this point Mat has been annoying, childish and in general just not a very likeable character. The other issue so far has been that you have Rand the Dragon Reborn, Perrin the Wolfbrother and...Mat. Now you have Aemon reborn with super luck.

Lucas Baungartner same for me, I was reading the part where that was mentioned and didn’t pick up on it. While waiting to start the Shadow Rising, I reread the last few chapters and I was completely blown away. I did not see that coming, and they barely made a big deal out of it

For the griping about needing notes, there were very few mistakes, although half the book went missing. - It has, precisely speaking, been a whole winter since the end of The Great Hunt. That book ended in the fall, and it is now spring. - Perrin does not summon the wolves, they come of their own accord, because Perrin does not like contacting them. - It was Children of Light who intervened when Perrin frees Gaul. - Gaul is not headed to Tear. Tear is in the opposite direction of travel from his homeland to where he is now (Altara). Gaul had to pass Tear to get to where he met Perrin. He decides to go to Tear after talking with Perrin, who tells Gaul flat out that He Who Comes with the Dawn is on his way to Tear. - The girls do not go to Tear to save Rand from a trap, they go because they have hints that the Black Ajah are going there.

Having just finished book 3 I would add: -the firework girl Tom and Matt saved (Already forgot her name, LMAO) -The Aiel (Hope this is how its written in english as Im reading The books in bulgarian, also i could have some other spelling erorrs) which freed Egween Eleine Nyneve from being handled to Murdraals

@@amnaeldnd4376 Ironically, Aiel is the only proper noun spelled the same in English. The three characters you mention are spelled as Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve and Myrddraal is the US spelling of the Shadowspawn. It is properly both the singular and plural form of the word, though many fans use Myrddraals for plural. And you are right on the omissions, but I chose to simply correct the errors Daniel made that are contradictory to the text. I suppose it's a matter of personal opinion which events are important enough to be included, so I let it slide.

I like the background music. It is low-key enough to not distract me from what you are saying, yet it adds a hint of mysterious-ness and mystical-ness which really contributes to the atmosphere of storytelling. Fantastic. I feel like I'm cozying up next to a fireplace.

Listening to you summarize these books that I know so well really effectively communicates how you experience this story. How you describe things, part recounting information, part interpretation/response, what you choose to overlook... all really brings your perspective into three dimensions. one note is that in the first few minutes that mat was in tear a three forked lightning flashed over the hut with the healer in it signifying that the girls were there. Mat is clearly very strongly pulled by the pattern

My interpretation of Rand killing the people at his campsite was that they were indeed innocents he murdered. He's dealing with ba'alzamon invading his dreams and making everyone he loves try to kill him at this point, along with actual assassins, and he even attacks egwene while she uses the ter'angreal to visit his dreams. So he's paranoid. But the wording in the book heavily implies to me that this particular group were likely just a merchant and her guards approaching him. The merchant isn't described as armed and her guard are described as bewildered and fumbling for their swords after the woman is slain.

The book was great but it completely disgusted me with Egwhine, Elayme and Whineave. Like god they are despicable. More Aviendha, Min and Moiraine in the next books please I can't stand those 3

glad these videos exist because the world building of WoT is so fascinating, but the writing leaves so much to be desired. i've tried 3 or 4 times to read and/or audiobook through the series but book 7 is my limit. the plot gets soooooo slow at many points (and i heard it gets even worse in books 8-10) and many characters are written so awfully, most of them being the female characters. Faile is straight trash from introduction to wherever i left off in book 7. Just a truly toxic, gaslighting, beyond immature, irrational, extremely jealous, awful person. by extension, Perrin pissed me off for allowing that kind of terrible behavior. as crappy as Egwene and Nynaeve are written, at least they have some redeeming qualities. but yeah, the world building of the WoT is amazing. i wish there was a re-write of the series by someone else (not Sanderson though).
