My husband and I abstained until marriage. Don’t let the enemy plant that seed of “what if it’s whack” your Fiancé is honoring you and God and I think you should focus on that. You literally have the rest of your lives to figure it out. We wasn’t virgins but sex under covenant, sex with my husband is the best I’ve ever had (seriously) and it’s not based on the performance itself. It’s the freedom, no guilt, no shame. It’s beautiful! Also, talk through it and be honest and open. The world teaches women to be open with their sexuality in every way but in their marriage, explore with your husband.

Male listener here…. Love the podcast been listening for years just rarely comment! Im 35 and can confirm men and boys in my era did not often have healthy conversations about sex AT ALL… My Father or other positive male figures never spoke about it in a productive way. “Make sure you put a raincoat on” was all I got!!

We Loooove Yvette and her naivete regarding sex is next level. We openly talked about sex with my older sister and brother and I openly talked about sex with my two kids. If its made to be a secret or unforbidden it very attractive to children/teens but if normalized in context it's like oh whatever, in my opinion.

I think the assuming sex has to be wack because your with a virgin is wild. Virgin or not if the person doesn’t know you it’s an opportunity for y’all to get to get to know each other and what each other likes in that way intimately. A person could have experience but it doesn’t mean your going to like the way they do it. Plus your getting something special in that he saved his body for you, for his spouse, this isn’t common.

This was hilarious! I would add to the couple writing in, try to hype up your partner too even if it’s kinda wack. Tell them what you want them to do but also tell them what they do that you like. Or you know, tell them some things that will build their confidence in that area

The advice was great. My ex-husband would also ask me what I liked and like Yvette, I was a virgin, and that question made me super uncomfortable because I didn't know what to answer. I felt kinda stupid not knowing how to answer. He shamed me horribly for not knowing how to express myself but indeed, he didn't ask the right questions. Addressing intimidations or insecurities is a much better conversation to have. My husband now and I have always had very very good sex oddly, even if he's only my second partner and he has had a slew of women. Sometimes I wonder about how those women did things, but it doesn't phase me as I see how pleased he is. Once he told me that I was the best. Lol. THAT was awesome. I say to focus the questions on any possible fears and don't push too hard, allow him to be himself. Eventually the little virgin may grow to be your best, as well.

These are some great suggestions. Every person is unique and in their individual style when it comes to sex and intimacy so usually you end up having to teach your partner what it is that you like as a unique individual so you guys have an opportunity to have fun, exploring, and learning what it is that he likes and growing and evolving together. Just because you have had sex doesn’t mean that you can’t learn something new about yourself and how to please your husband.

Language for a virgin who isn’t entirely clueless: “Educated virgin” My husband watches with me sometimes and really appreciates the humor😂. I remember sex from very young. Way too young. My parents let me watch or even watched with me anything I picked. I grew up as an only child and it wasn’t healthy for me and my personality. It shaped me profoundly and I still struggle because of it. I got away with a lot.

This episode was hysterical. And yet informative 😅 I agree with another comment that we need a part 2 to this one! A lot of times these type of topics are hard to address with your partner, either because of ego or afraid of hurting someone's feelings. But honesty and love should drive the conversation. Otherwise you just end up resentful and what not.

This lady was me. I was experienced and my husband was a virgin. To be honest, I wished that we had a whole conversation before marriage about sex. My husband had an addiction to porn that I found out about after marriage. I had an addiction to porn as well. He knew about it. Even though he had this addiction. He was uncomfortable and still sometimes is uncomfortable with talking about about sex. I will say this is your opportunity to teach him what you like and to help him discover what he likes. Most importantly be patient. He will have to build stamina. Don't be afraid to ROCK his world!!!

10:38 loving the breakdown but I think as Christians that it’s also important to note the difference between virginity and purity. Some ppl have had their virginity taken, unfortunately bc they weren’t being pure. Doing “everything but” with someone they thought they could trust, etc. but they can choose purity from that point on. Just had to drop that thought!

I was a virgin until 30. When I was a 26 I dated my friend who was a 29 year old virgin. He was struggling to express his sexual identity. He wasn't gay but he truly believed sex was wrong. He never even felt comfortable holding my hand. Sad. He always wanted wait till he was with the married men to talk about sex. I was a virgin but I loved talking about sex. 😂 I was giving my active friends condoms. I asked questions with my ob GYN. I had a great relationship with my body but I wouldn't self pleasure until turned 29

I would say don't go into it with the energy of "it's gonna be whack" energy and more of the "I finally get to spend intimate time expressing myself sexually with my "husband". Don't focus on the end result but you and your husband. And when he does something you like, say I like when YOU do that.

Yvette can you share a little on your upbringing so that we can have a clear vision of how you were able to reach it to middle school with no understanding. It’s just hard for me to grass that with television being what it was even in my day as a 70s baby growing up watching soap operas with my mama while she did my hair for school. Did you guys have access to television and I’m definitely not trying to be funny. I’m just trying to figure out how your parents were able to keep you away from what was going on all around you especially if you went to public school. Lol

Makes me sad that because he chose to save himself for marriage, the burden is on him now to meet her expectations, I think she should be more forgiving bc it’s literally not his fault , also you can have an experienced partner and their sex is wack so it’s not his experience it’s about how you guys please each other , I hope she’s sensitive to his feelings in this regard bc if he thinks he’s being compared the sex will definitely be wack

Best way in my opinion is to just have sex before you marry not after. If you marry someone who has never had sex or has never had sex with you how will you know you are sexually compatible? And that is a MAJOR deal maker to a successful marriage. All this intellectual stuff just makes a very natural act seem sterile. If it works out without having sex before you tie the knot that is fine but if it does not you are in for a lot of expensive therapy and years of unhappiness. and that is a huge gamble. Unless you remain in the friend zone or just have sex to procreate.

For one, the podcast is coming from a Christian perceptive so pre marital relations are completely out of the question. 2) If you think about it, you might be married for 10, 20, 50, etc. years. Why would you base a (hopefully) everlasting covenant on what ultimately amounts to a drop in the bucket? There's a reason why having multiple premarital sex partners is negatively associated with marital quality and stability.
