Helen has expressed fear about Alpine Volks Fair growing into SOWO v2.0 and specifically cited the amount of BMW groups in town for our VAG event as a reason. Let's talk about why that should be a concern for all of us that love Alpine Volks Fair & the city of Helen, GA.

If you are coming to the comments because you read the title/saw the thumbnail and got big feelings, but didn't watch the video then you should stop, take a breathe, and watch the video first. Comments from people that obviously didn't watch the video will be removed 😘

We had a similar issue with the "Leavenworth Drive" here in Washington state every father's day. It wasn't just BMW, but drivers of all European cars VW Audi etc... I ran a pre-meet and in the drivers meet told those that want to show off to just go home as they will ruin it for the rest of us. While it helped a little the idiots still came. People 2-stepping in the middle of the town, doing burn outs, etc... but what really blew my mind was the police presence was non-existent. Even the State Patrol was rarely seen, and they posted on Twitter about the event. So it turned into a free for all for the last few years. I've always wonder if it was a test to see if we could police ourselves which was impossible to do... So the town a few years back eventually banned the official meet. It was no surprise. Once the entitled kids came to the drive it was doomed. When events get too big it isn't a matter of it, but when it will get closed down. Sorry but no pleading will help. I still wish you the best of luck. I know I still miss going to this meet. It sucks.

Has anyone reached out to garage welt? I saw more issues with the Porsches IMO. the BMW people that came was literally for friday/sat. and they were respectable for the most part in town.

Unfortunately it isn't about that. For the city of Helen, it's about non vag cars creating events outside of AVF. it scares them that the show is returning to the chaos of SOWO

@@AudiC7Owners I think when people see things like amount of Porsches they assume its a EURO based event. Which is IMO what lead people to Helen wrongfully. I was in Helen in 2021 as people was trying to get outside from the pandemic. Only a handful of other euro cars where everything else was VW.

1. There was a BMW event less than 2hrs away from Helen. 2. Bringing a BMW to a VW event is not the flex that it was 20 years ago.

I was there all week and didnt see bmws causing really any issues during the day. During the day there were 150k+ porsches were revving and acting dumb more than anyone.

I agree, but that's not the problem. The problem is that Garage Welt hosted a pre-planned meet for Bmw's during AVF on purpose that drew large groups of Bmw's to the town. AVF is supposed to be a VAG event with Eurotripper doing everything they can to limit non-vag cars from coming. That was the agreement between Eurotripper & Helen. So when they see a legit meet for Bmw's occur (outside of AVF sanctioned meets), it gives them real concern that Eurotripper is losing control of the event and this are returning to what sowo became. They will refuse to issue permits if they think this is going to continue.
