as a huge fan of 2007's enchanted i was equal parts excited and nervous when disney announced that they were making a sequel. set 10 years after the original movie, disenchanted brings back some of our favorite characters after "happily ever after". what did you think of disenchanted?

@@Anthony-fu6clwell the thing is they explain that she is still a character from Andalasia and she still has some magic from there which makes her still the lovable Giselle we got to watch. But I digress, yeah I just wished we saw her get a little more realistic. The whole point of the first movie was it is ok to have a little fantasy and realism on your life. It makes it more unpredictable and exiting.

@@roxanne_ So you're saying she simply didn't want to duet with Edward in the first movie when he arrived to save her? And why didn't the construction workers join in the song if her magic had that effect in the first movie? I just watched the director of the first film's commentary and he said Giselle explicitly sings less throughout the movie as she becomes more real. So 10 years later she's still not real...?

I get what you mean, I thought maybe Giselle was feeling depressed and homesick so she was trying to make herself feel happy by singing. (I hope that makes sense).

I do have one question though, during the first song “Even more Enchanted”, I feel that only Morgan and Robert noticed that she was singing, and only a few background characters noticed she was singing too. •I guess Morgan and Robert are just used to Giselle singing, but I was surprised to see that no one in Monroeville was confused in the first song of the movie on why she was singing in the real world.

I could maybe see a scenario for conflicts sake where Morgan gets upset because Giselle doesn't treat her like a daughter but rather like a friend or sister. Where there's a contrast in how she treats the baby compared to her where she can tell her I need to to be my mom and take this seriously right now. It would have been a small tweak but been a more understandable progression of their relationship. Instead what we got was Giselle basically a perfect mom does noting wrong and Morgan gets annoyed because teenager the motivation isn't there.

imo the whole "wicked stepmother" plot falls apart when in the original movie, Giselle already told Morgan that not all stepmothers were evil and that she knew plenty in Andalasia who were kind and loving just like biological mothers when Morgan was worried about Nancy becoming her stepmother, throughout the whole movie I kept thinking about that plot hole

But don't forget Prince Edward had a evil stepmother himself, so Andalasia rules play to whatever trope fits the fairy tale. To me, it would be WAY funnier if Robert was aware of the change. Imagine his annoyance and frustration at the fact that now HE is the one stranded in a world he doesn't understand or like, at least initially. All the fairytale naiveté concentrated in Giselle now surrounding him, and his arc could mirror Giselle's in the first movie, learning to find happiness in an alien environment. This and, of course, the manny comic situations I can think of.

Mm....I feel it's too easy to make the teen a brat thing, it's been done millions of times in these stories, I'm glad Morgan was conflicted but still a good person before and after the wish, it shows that Robert and Giselle raised her with good natured, even if she's a teenager, she never came off as bratty cuz that would've made her annoying to truly care about Going the Belle/Cinderella route was the better way since she didn't totally see Giselle as a mom yet, it's part of why Giselle turned into a stepmom in the first place None of this works if you don't understand each of their sides leading to their roles after the wish

Also robert wasn’t even a character and my other main issue was how both him and morgan weren’t themselves for 80% of the movie. @@jill9978 Morgan and Robert having their memories erased for most of the film was my biggest gripe. Sure, Morgan gets hers back when she gets to Andalasia, but by then we're well on our way to the climax. There's no emotional stakes to Giselle progressively turning evil, barely anyone noticed or cared in the new world besides Pip. So now you have Amy Adams carrying the emotional weight of the movie on her back because everyone else involved are Disney caricatures. It would have been much better if Morgan and Robert stayed the same, or at least be conscious of their new reality.
@welcometothemetaverse2523

@@jill9978 I felt that both Morgan and Robert did have some elements of their original personality in there, with Morgan still feeling like an outsider and Robert trying to prove himself as somebody extraordinary during his midlife crisis. But just like with Morgan we only see doses of her life in high school, that her life in the fairy tale is also just as vague with her desires, her enemies, etc.. It would have been better if we got more detail with her school life, maybe if Morgan went back and forth from having her normal mind and her fairy tale mind like Giselle was with the stepmother role, getting sucked into the fairy tale world but also questioning it when things aren't working out. Heck, Robert trying to be heroic and then halfway questioning himself like his original more cynical self in the first movie, it'd be hilarious having him realize he's getting an over his head with things like dragon is an ogres and stuff, like "Am I really doing this?" It would have followed up on the commentary of a midlife crisis, giving his scenes more depth and the part where he saves the girl from the collapsing stand and she goes with her family, that would have been the moment he realized that his life does have meaning when he's with his family. You can see the look on his face that's what they were going for. But the way they executed, it looks like he's just imitating Prince Edward in just a bunch of random scenes that tie into nothing.

This isn't uncommon, but it was kind of embarrassing how out of touch the writing was with actual teenagers. Like, who actually would realistically say, "haha, she has flowers on her dress" or whatever the line was? I get the other girls were supposed to be the "bullies" and highlight how Morgan didn't fit in, but it's weird how removed the teenage characters were from what teenagers actually do and say, considering the audience for the film would have likely included a significant amount of teenagers and young adults who grew up with the first one.

While that’s probably due to rushed and poorly executed storytelling, I’d like to think it is another illustration of how Giselles regular life is fulfilling and meaningful if she continues to work through the hard times. Reality can be magical if you manage to maintain a healthy mindset like Giselle had in the first movie. She had just forgotten that in the hustle and bustle of the regular responsibilities of “normal” life - most people do and it takes more than hopeful wishing to get back to a happy place.

I feel like some of it is the setting. New York has a magical feeling to it, the city has that vibe that made it perfect for the first movie. New York already feels like a place where anything weird and wonderful can happen, so it was perfect for the setting of people finding out fairytale lands are real. A small town could serve the same purpose of "things turned into a fairytale" but they made the town generic small town. If it was more shrouded in woods, or Morgan learns about local myths like the local "witch" or people disappear on the lake, etc. Something to give the town a "magical" feel to better immerse the change caused by the wish, but they didn't so it's all just like...bland....like the magic is just there

For me, this movie felt like it had no awareness of the first movie, almost like it didn't watch the first movie. It shows itself in little ways. Like why wouldn't giselle, who owned a dress shop in NYC just make morgan new clothes, make her a dress for the ball instead of shopping one. You could still have her destroy it, but it would mean more because giselle made it for her. Why would Robert want to be a dragon slayer, even under the curse. He was kidnapped by a dragon in the first film, I would think he would be terrified of them. My hottest take is I think the "villain" should have been Morgan's birth mother. Maybe she tries to come back into the picture, it would make more sense for giselle to feel self conscious as a "step mother" and they could have shown that your mother figure or family isn't blood.

Save their dad. Morgan still has to make the saving wish. Good message about stepsiblings Keeps it to the core cast and gets to a new message that still reflects the message of the first movie

I agree! After she had 10 years of life in New York, I'd expect that an ideal version of her would still keep her whimsical personality but also be very grounded and experienced. Yet in this one, she seemed very disconnected from reality and less grounded than in the first. I found myself feeling like her character was obnoxious, while I didn't feel that way in the first. Perhaps old habits die hard, but it felt like shallow character development for her and felt confusing.

I really wish the movie focused on Morgan and Giselle’s relationship. In the first film, we see Robert show her the real world and Giselle learns to love it. It would’ve been hilarious to see Giselle and Morgan both be the only“conscious” ones after Giselle’s wish. This way the movie could expand on the issues with their relationship and perhaps we could see both of them grow as individuals as they try to get the wand back.

I think it would have been funny if Morgan and Robert were both sucked into their fairy tale roles while still being conscious like Giselle when she switches between herself and the evil stepmother role. You can see what they were going for. Like Morgan tries find acceptance in her new environment so her fairytale side sings a song about finding her own happiness and Robert deals with his midlife crisis by being the fairytale hero who slays dragons and ogres. Both would have been a good commentary on their individual problems and would have been funny when they switch back to their more cynical selves when things don't go well.

Specially since the movie didn't give a good reason for that besides "Giselle wanted to". Also, teenagers aren't known for being super racional and understanding. I would've preferred it if the Mother/Daughter strain wasn't between Giselle and Morgan, but instead Giselle and Sofia. The time between Enchanted and Disenchanted is actually 15 years, so realistically, Morgan would be in college, and Sofia would be late middle school/early high school. Sofia wasn't in the original, so her having a jaded personality would make FAR more sense than Morgan being one, since she's a new character and can be whatever they want her to be. Maybe instead of Giselle becoming an evil stepmother, she finds out that at the last stroke of 12, when her wish becomes permanent, she's going to die, because she's the mother of a beautiful young girl in a fairy tale land, and what are mothers of beautiful young girls in fairy tales? Dead.

Keep the baby, have them move to Monroeville, but make it seem like she feels like the black sheep in the family, so she goes back to new york to find the pothole and have her go to Andelasia to live the fairytale life she had always heard Giselle talk about. Giselle and Robert realize what happens and so they try to find her. That way we could see more of the animated world Giselle came from and explore the world she left behind.

After being in New York and in business I think I’d be more interesting if Giselle lost her fairy tale touch. Focusing on more practical and being more cynical about fairy tales. Maybe refusing to tell Morgan any fairy tales or consume any type of fairy tale merchandise because your world doesn’t work that way. They were just there. I also felt like Malvina was kinda pointless. Like she was just evil for the sake of being evil. Tbh I normally have a lot of problems with the Disney sequels and remakes, but this one was just so camp and fun to watch that I didn’t mind the plot problems. My three biggest problems were Pip (ugh), the overblown use of Idina Menzel (I mean, I get that you need to use her voice, but the whole “Love, Power” song felt so forced I was rolling my eyes the whole time), and Giselle’s first outfit (I cannot even describe the rage at using the exact same fabric for the dress and cardigan but having the cardigan be light pink instead of white. It was so odd and I couldn’t stop trying to find any difference between the patterns to justify the clothes). But honestly I feel like Amy Adams was born to be an over the top, fabulous villain. She completely killed the role and even if the writing was lacking at points, her performance brought me so much delight I didn’t even care!!

The sequel had waaaay too many songs, It made the good ones less impactful, the run time way too long, and were kinda just annoying. The first film had musical numbers but I wouldn't have considered it a musical. This was a full fledged musical and most of the songs were boring. Morgan and Tyson meeting at the market is also similar to Cinderella's meet-cute with the prince in the '90s version. Ann Harada's casting also seems to be a joke on her being one of the stepsisters in the Broadway version. Disney's apparently making a fourth Descendants movie with Brandy reprising Cinderella, so clearly someone's got that on the brain.

wow I so agree with you on many points! I also like the movie. Your idea about making baby daughter of Giselle a closer age to Morgan can be soo cool. Because in that case Sofia made a wish using a magic wand because she wants to be in a fantasy land where everything is perfect since she's never experience that and she is young and naive to understand the consequences. So Giselle (who actually got used to living in a normal world) suddenly is turned into evil stepmother and she is not in control over the situation at all. At the end is Morgan who saves the day by believing that she is a true Andalasian and has magic because she believes in it, regardless her being born in real world of Nyc.

i personally really liked the sequel as i enjoyed the twist of giselle being an evil-stepmother which she would be due to fairytales portraying them like that, however the two downsides of the sequel are the songs (not as boppy or as good in my opinion) and the original actress of morgan didn’t reprise her role

The original Morgan not reprising her role wasn't a factor for me. The new one was fantastic in her role, looks a lot like the old one, and had chemistry with the original cast. And the original has a cameo! As you said, the songs lacked the classic Disney earworm, which was a big one for me. And the script felt weak imo. I LOVED the premise, but the execution fell flat

I rewatched Enchanted recently and it really holds up. I was excited to see Disenchanted but it's glaring how modern Disney film making is so...messy. Giselle's wickedness should've been developed by Giselle's real selfish and deluded desires that the magic makes her act on and descend into. When she wants everything to fall in line because she doesn't know how to handle a rebellious daughter, it could've made a realistic connection. When it's just the magic that makes her evil, it portrays it as totally out of character which doesn't give her depth or growth. Just because she made the wish isn't enough of a flaw for me.

kevin lima, the director of enchanted (and a director, animator and contributor to countless other disney classics as seen in his filmography), did not come back to direct disenchanted (he's never explicitly stated why other than internal affairs that got him kicked from the project, which was going to be incredibly different to what we end up getting), and it shows. disenchanted is fun - but's all it is. it lacks the charm, the subversive humour, the intricacies of characters' relationships with each other, and the underlying complexities enchanted had. man, i was so excited for this sequel. i'll still give it a rewatch sometime - but it makes me appreciate just how amazing enchanted was in comparison.

1 more thing. In the original Giselle becomes more 'real' than a disney character, but in the beginning of this film you can see she's back to the same disney character, its like she's gone backwards than forward. i mean let's be real, 10 years in a city really changes you, so how is Giselle literally the same as she was 10 years ago?

I kinda wished Morgan was the one who wished for a fairytale life like Giselle, which ties in to the cottagecore life that had a hold on gen z. However, she did not know that Giselle stepmother was evil and that fairytales aren’t great for everyone. Perhaps she gets chased by a troll and cursed by a witch. At the end, she is in the same position as Giselle in the first movie where her stepmother turns into a monster but Morgan is unable to kill her as she knows her stepmother is actually kind and she has to find a way to solve it. It could have the message of people romanticising certain things (like the 50s, regency, renaissance) without understanding what its actually like. The sentiment of “I want to go back to that time”. I think this one is decent but the previous is superior 🤭

The plot, good, unique and furthered the methos of the first movie, the acting was good especially with Amy Adams having to switch between roles of her regular self and the Evil Stepmother side, the production design was incredible and really gave you the feel for an old school Disney fairy tale, and the songs were great, well composed, super catchy and beautifully sung. What the movie lacked was proper character development and pacing. Other than Giselle trying start a new chapter to recapture the idealistic life of Andalasia that she is homesick for, while also trying to be a good stepmother, everybody else has a little purpose. I get Morgan being a moody teen and not wanting to move, but we don't get to see enough of her school life to justify her resentment of Giselle. I also kinda get Robert is going through a midlife crisis, but they don't expand on it enough to have me care. Even the way the film just kind of throws stuff at you without letting the mood set in, like when Morgan blows up and Giselle and it sends Giselle into her next song about what she wishes for. If they would have given us a a moment to absorb the emotion, I wouldn't have growned when she started singing, like "Are we doing another song?!" And I hated feeling that way because this is a legitimate good song and it is what kicks the main plot into high gear. Then everything's a fairy tale and as cute as it is, Robert Morgan and Robert are now not themselves, but fairy tale representations of themselves for most of the movie. Giselle becoming an evil stepmother from the trope of her fairy tale life she wished for is the only interesting plot thread with once again Amy Adams flawlessly playing both sides. But with little stakes to help the story go anywhere. I felt that both Morgan and Robert did have some elements of their original personality in there, with Morgan still feeling like an outsider and Robert trying to prove himself as somebody extraordinary during his midlife crisis. Heck, having world-building for the whole town of Monroeville before it turned into a fairy tale would have strengthened the plot all together, showing us the imperfect real world affecting the main characters and how everything is either changed for the better or worse with all the residents in it. Overall, I think it was a fair attempt. I imagine this was hard to conceive but they gave us something that I do find legitimately entertaining and even memorable; heck, I still can't get these songs out of my head. But with the elements I've mentioned, it would have earned Disenchanted to worthy successor sequel to the original as opposed to just a mediocre attempt with a few good results.

If the first movie was about the animated characters becoming live action, why couldn’t they have done the opposite in this movie and returned to animated world? Maybe Giselle becomes upset at her life and her relationship with Morgan, like in disenchantment and instead of moving into another town maybe they take a vacation into Andalasian or straight up move there temporarily. Instead of Giselle being a fish out of water, this could be Morgan fish out of water story. And her trying to subvert the fairy tale. We could also have the wicked step mother trope, and we could also see how Nancy and Edward relationship works. Maybe have Giselle missing the normal world or a “my home was different from how I remembered?” Trope. She could be disappointed in her fairy tale life, that she wanted? And blames Morgan since she would technically be the protagonist. And not her. But instead of realizing she’s conformed to the real world, and has different or high expectations assume Morgan is the girl to blame.

While I know coming from the serious world, Nancy wouldn't just jump into making babies (she was a career woman after all), as King and Queen isn't it their duty to provide heirs? Giselle and Edward was only dating at the end of the first movie...has 10 years not passed in Andalasia too? Edit: lol, Just realised I said Giselle and Edward instead of Giselle and...and...McDreamy guy

The only two live-action Disney movies that worked for me were _Cinderella_ (2015) and _Enchanted,_ and Disney seems to refuse to do the things that made them so wonderful. I love that you pulled the clip of Narissa saying that she sent Giselle to a place where "there are no happily-ever-afters." Giselle facing the 'real' world, adjusting while never letting it fundamentally change her nurturing and hopeful spirit, then finding that happily-ever-after in a place they supposedly don't exist, is the magic of that movie. Similarly, in _Cinderella,_ the magic was found not in focusing on making Cinderella a watered-down version of a strong man, but highlighting the gifts of a strong woman that lead to _her_ own happy ending. The best of Disney Princesses was always in showing the _unique_ gifts and strengths of women *as* women. Animated Mulan doesn't brute-strength her way up the post carrying the weights, she shows mental flexibility and succeeds by approaching the challenge differently. Contrary to popular belief, _Beauty and the Beast_ isn't an 'I can change him' story. It's a story of the way a woman embodying archetypal feminine virtues (being kind, loving, patient, understanding, and family-oriented; without being unintelligent, uninteresting, a doormat, or accepting of bad behavior) is powerful enough to _inspire_ even the most hard-hearted beast to _want_ to be a better version of himself -- to rise up to be worthy of a woman like her. Nowadays, it seems like 'girl power' just means being a girl who's more like a man.

I can't help but wish they made Morgan aromantic coded kinda like Elsa and subvert old formula of princesses finding their love and having happily ever after tied to romance. It's nothing new at this point with Elsa and Merida but it would be cool to see how Giselle (born hopeless romantic who already had her happily ever after) reacts to her daughter in her eyes "rejecting" what she once thought was most important in life. It doesn't have to be main drama in the movie but it would work well as one of many things that drives them apart, she already calls herself "fake daughter of Andalasia” so why not make that actually visible by who she is? In the movie she's stereotypical princess really straight, skinny, girly with long hair and pastel gown at the end she just have an attitude but so have Diana or Jasmine it's not subverting anything. It would be cool if she was this aromantic gothic girl who still loves fairytales but as a teen prefers villains over princesses idk.

I’m so confused. Giselle has lived with Morgan and Robert for a significant amount of time and it was implied in the first movie that she had gotten her “fairy tale ending”. In the sequel it appears that Giselle never adjusted to life beyond Andalasia. She also displays attributes that were never there in the first place. Why is she all of a sudden selfish? She was nothing but kind in the first movie. Granted she was delusional, but she should have mellowed out and learned how to function by now, right? Disney really should learn themselves not to touch old films if they are completely fine being standalones. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I think the story is better just ending where the first movie did and leaving the audience to imagine themselves what life was like after.

I liked the idea of what Disenchanted was going for but I would have liked it even better if it was still set in New York. Giselle is trying to find her way and fit in with everyone else, while running her fashion store. Morgan sees Giselle stuggling and realizes she isn't too happy with her life either and remembers all those fairy tale stories Giselle told her growing up and so she makes the wish with the wand for a fairytale life. (I liked the idea of Nancy and Edward giving Giselle the wand but only have them give it to her like on her birthday or something) . Anyway, on the FIRST day, Morgan is the main character of a fairytale life and Robert and Giselle are now evil parents and rulers of New York City. But Morgan doesn't really notice yet (since she's too busy having fun and is was what she dreamed about) until the SECOND day. Morgan begins to notice her parents are now evil and want to expand their power all over the globe besides New York. Also Nerissa returns and wanted to kill Giselle and Robert but doesn't because she likes the new evil them and gives them the idea of expanding their power. (So basically not ONLY did the wand give Morgan her wish but it also brought back Nerissa.) Anyway, Morgan is freaking out and goes to Andalusia to find Edward and Nancy for help. The two then remind Morgan that the wish can ONLY being undone by the one who made the wish but ONLY after the stroke of midnight on the THIRD day. After the third day the spell will be permanent. So, together the five of them ( pip included) go to the Real World and try to find the wand. Only to figure out that Nerissa had the wand the whole time after she was revived. But, Nancy comes up with a plan to start a rebellion with the citizens as a distraction for her and Morgan and Pip to get the wand and break the curse. Anyway on the THIRD day/night the rebellion attacks. Robert and his evil forces retaliat. (Robot and Edward kind of have this funny show down or battle together lol). Nerissa and evil Giselle are watching the fight but notice that Nancy and Morgan and Pip are going in a different direction then the rebels. So, Nerissa gets suspicious. When Morgan and Nancy finally reach where the wand is being held, Giselle is already there. Protecting it. Giselle starts attacking Nancy and Morgan with the wands powers, all the while, Morgan tries to reach her mother. Telling her that she did this for her to be happy. For them to be happy and a family. Morgan's words almost work because Giselle kind of "glitches" between being her old self and new evil self. Meanwhile, during their fight, Edward is able to remind Robert of his good self and the two stop fighting and go help Morgan and Nancy. On the way there, Edward fills in Robert on everything that's happened far. While Giselle is physically and emotionally fighting this new evil side of herself, she tries to hand Morgan the wand but Nerissa comes in at the last second and manipulats Giselle to embrace the darkness and if no one is going to allow her to fit in or " have a seat at the table" then she has to take it by force. So Giselle embrace the darkness and gives Nerissa the wand. But Edward and Robert come in and tackle Nerissa and the wand goes flying to Nancy (and at this point it kind of like hot potato or "keep away.") Morgan is then able to get her hands on the wand and tries to make the wish but Nerissa blast her with magic and uses her magic to freeze Nancy and Edward and Pip and Robert in time while, she takes the wand and breaks it. With this being done Robert snaps back to becoming evil. And the time freezeing spell stops. Nancy and Edward and Pip then come up with a plan to stop the Clock tower from reaching midnight (bc I liked the whole idea of a clock tower). But while Nancy and Edward and Pip are trying to stop the tower Robert follows them and tries to stop their plan. Meanwhile, evil Giselle glance out the window at the battle and smiles because she's happy about what is being done. Nerissa goes on to have villan monologue about how all she wanted was power and she never really fit in and wasn't happy with her life like Giselle and Morgan until she got that power and the crown. But, Morgan thinking all hope is lost suddenly realizes why the clock is not striking midnight and that Nancy and Edward are buying her some time to undo the curse. So, Morgan takes the pieces of the wand while dodging magic blast from Nerissa and glances at her mother and wishes for everything to go back to the way it was. Then, everything is as it was before. Robert doesn't remember anything and thinks it was all a dream. Nerissa dies, again. Morgan and Giselle and the others all remember everything so clearly because they are true daughters and son of Andalusia. Morgan talks to Giselle telling her, she just wanted giselle and their family to be happy and be like a everyone else. But Giselle tells her no. She's fine right where she is and the two realize they don't need to be like everybody else. That life is too short and too complicated to be worried about being liked by everyone else or "getting a seat at the table". And they two should have realized it all along and they have each other and that should be the only thing that makes them happy. (I know it sounds cheesie or cringe but I like that idea). Nancy and Edward and Pip come to visit and try to explain to Robert, with Giselle and Morgan, what the happened in his dream, ACTUALLY happened. THE END.....

The other thing to consider was the time the original film came out; by late 2007 the cinema landscape was flooded with cynical, self-aware and "hip" fractured fairy tale movies that "Shrek" popularized. Disney wasn't even doing classic Princess films, playing third fiddle to Pixar's avantgarde storytelling and DreamWorks 's "cool with the youths" movies. "Enchanted" came at the right time and the correct place as by that point people were legit missing a classic Disney fairy tale musical but the audience was still jaded by the formula. "Enchanted"! perfectly balanced that with story and characters that were a reflection of the audience's desires. It was a sincere story that mocked the tropes but also celebrated them. The characters felt genuine and even when the real world was being "real" it added to the story. I loved "Disenchanted", but to me it was too campy and legit felt more of a parody of a Disney movie than a tribute to one. Like it's mentioned in the video, the characters prior to the curse felt like parodies of real people and before we even meet them we know EXACTLY what role they will play. And everyone when they get affected by the spell are caricatures of themselves to the point some moments were cringe. It's not a bad movie per say as it has enough perk and charm for me to watch it as comfort viewing for when I need a break from the real world. But it does showcase why the original was such a great film, one that we legit took got granted and slept on when it first came out. I know I rambled a lot, but am I the only one that thinks Disenchanted is Disney's "Wandavision"? You have two red-heads wishing for an ideal life based on a relic of their past so they used their powers to town a sleep suburban town into their ideal fantasy Worlds in which everyone plays a trope, and the more they are in that fantasy the more wicked they become and the more unstable the power gets. Then you have a rival that is also looking to gain that power for herself...and they even use red and purple magic. Bug difference though? Giselle's family Is VERY real and didn't have to go across the multiverse and kill people to try to find them :)
