I think its ok to use a map offering once, but not all the time. Would be nice to see one game of the "best case scenario" for stealth perks for example and one game on a random map. Or maybe even use a map offering to get the "average scenario" after the best case map.

I don't think it's meant for breaking off chase and finding someone else, like you said the post hit and reload take too long. I think it's meant for breaking line of sight with the person you hit, and coming at them from a direction they don't expect

I personally love playing slinger; however, I main huntress because I unlocked all of the perks on her. Once I level up slinger, I'll main him. I also like going against slingers. You can really waste their time because they are a 4.4, reload after every shot killer. The most important thing when going against a slinger is to always look backwards and hover over the crouch key on shorter loops, such as the car loops on autohaven. Edit: You could have also used benjo's build with the hellshire iron. Mad grit, iron grasp, agitation, and starstruck. Once you down a survivor, pick up immediately (try to get people with flashlights around) then chase a healthy survivor and instadown them after the undetectable timer runs out.

I like how when you do burn a map offering to also either let it be random or pick a more "standard" map for the 2nd game. Showing that the real value is somewhere in between the two

Tofu was talking about how the build doesn't feel like its doing anything but I checked the gen count in first match, they only had 1 gen done, Thanatophobia was doing the work, and Sloppy was so good at getting them to run away and heal, and nurses was calling them out on healing and altruism. Corrupt Intervention can be switched for Iron grasp, or maybe Agitation and its the perfect anti heal build for Slinger, it was just absolutely beautiful!

Kind of late of me, but I figured I'd comment on something Tofu said. Slinger doesn't have as much enjoyment to him as other killers. You don't really get any "hype" moments that net you multiple downs. If you down someone with him and see someone else, you likely have to reload and follow the new target basically just to trade the down you already have for a potential new one. Whereas other killers have the potential to chain downs in an almost montage-y style of skill expression. Obvious offenders include Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Huntress, and Twins. Using their powers to successfully get multiple downs is just satisfying and it makes the game feel more fast paced in your favor as killer (as opposed to the type of fast pace that just feels like you hear 3 gens pop from 3 different directions all around you). It feels satisfying, it feels good. Even killers like Trapper, Hag, and Michael can achieve this with proper planning and corralling survivors all towards one area. But Deathslinger? Even landing a shot doesn't get the blood flowing because you gotta reel them in all slow as opposed to actually getting a chance to feel like you're poppin off. You hit someone, reel, hit, reload, and THEN you get a chance to look around to make more plays. he just feels slow to play and even the really good players who play him don't feel that good because his playstyle hasn't changed from that boring "optimal" punishing playstyle. You aim at windows or pallets, they vault/drop pallet and get shot, or they get zoned away and get M1'd. The only difference now from his rework is that this playstyle is just a bit more punishing on you to spam mindlessly. But its boring to do, and its boring to face. Getting surprised by a random shot through a tile is cool, but for the most part, Slinger just makes a match feel the way Freddy makes matches feel. Even without any slowdown perks, both killers make the game feel like it's moving through molasses. No one wants to play through that.

The addon timer should start after reloading, making you a stealth killer without a gun until you want to reload.

PotatoLegion has some pretty sick Deathslinger gameplay! He doesn't main deathslinger per-say, but he's been playing a ton recently!

I don’t know about hellshire, but I always wanted to see a slinger build turning him into a snowball killer with his new terror radius. Maybe use monitor and abuse, infectious, and that other iridescent that insta-downs.

I personally love to play as slinger, though I'm nowhere near to being 'cracked' with him. Admittedly I play him less since his nerf than I did before. I would need to put in significant work with him to get to that point. Would love to see what a player with your skill level could do with him.

I run Hellshire Iron with Bayshore Cigar, Trail of Torment, Tinkerer, Dragon's Grip, STBL. The idea is to use Tinkerer and ToT to maintain undetectable with Hellshire filling some middle ground between the 2. Bayshore is one of his best add-ons. It lets you almost immediately give chase after reeling them in and letting them break free. I don't always reload because with Bayshore I can run them down in the 10 seconds Hellshire gives me of undetectable. I'd rather reload while standing over them. Not saying it's the best build but it is fun. The survivors never know where you are because your terror radius comes and goes regularly....and they may be exposed.

I saw at least 2 instances in each game where you got well within shooting range of them with the stealth. And they were caught unaware.

I would try Im All Ears. Hit them once with Hellshire Iron at a T and L, go undetectable and reap the rewards. Could also work well with Discordance (hit one survivor at gen then stealth hit the other) or maaaaybe Bitter Murmor. As a Slinger main my favorite build is Pop, Oppression & Trail of Torment (Lethal is the 4th perk so I know what gens they jump on to Pop/Opress)

I used to follow a Deathslinger main called Anaxandra but she took the quickscoping nerf pretty hard and doesn't even stream much anymore, got a job on a cruiser I believe. Also there's a Myers main, the Stalky Boy :P

I think bringing a map offering to make a build work is a good idea. Scratched Mirror Myers is only good on indoor maps but its fun as hell to do that build and send yourself to an indoor map.

Respect for what you said around 8 minutes about trying to find good games. Most channels are seemingly okay with looping a baby killer for 5 gens and calling it gg.

About map offerings-i think if you think you might need one then you can have a match with an offering and one without and split the difference

My view on this series is less about "look how viable this ultra-rare is!" and more about Tofu yelling "ULTRA-RARE ADD-ON VALUE BABY!!!" If that means burning a map offering, then burn a map offering! Also, I'd love a part two, maybe one match with a reload speed add-on and one match with a chain break recovery add-on? Idk any of the add-on names, but the one that decreases your stun after breaking a chain.

I did main Nightmare for many months before going back to Spirit, as I put her to prestige 3 first. You can do some nice stuff with Nightmares' power and fearmonger. Also, I hate going up against slinger, so thanks for telling everyone to main slinger lol he has always looked fun to play

Maybe you could get more value from the add on with STBFL and faster reload so you don't lose like a third of the undetectable timer while cleaning your gun and reloading

I've had this idea for awhile, it's the main reason why I don't run either of these perks. Make Desperate Measures and Thanataphobia relative to how many Survivors are still alive. That way even if one dies/DCs the perks both still get the same value. Also if only the last person is alive then the maximum values are applied.

After the quickscope change he feels bad to play (at least for me). I just want my flicks back instead of the garbo ADS turn rate - it's impossible to get used to if you play on high sense. All the Slinger mains I knew of quit because of that change and I don't blame them.

I think you should definitely do map offerings. The first question to answer is: is this any good in even the best case scenario? Then it’s easier to figure out its limitations.

I feel like maybe Infectious Fright might work better for that add-on

The animation after hitting a speared survivor takes almost 30% of the undetectable status effect. Pretty much leaving you with less than 10 seconds x)

I think TheJaneRomeroShow usually plays survivor, but when she plays Deathslinger she lands really cool shots! I think she even has a few clips on her twitter

It takes two seconds to wipe the gun down after a hit and 3 to reload i only see this addon doing work if you max out Hex:third seal and get stacks going for pyrf or stbl ignore reloading and try to go for gen grabs but even then a gen needs to be nearby and being worked on.

10 seconds is not much since by the time you down and pick em up the effect is gone :/ I don't where I saw this but Tofu can you try this game: Oni with Renjiro glove, splinter hull And for perks haunted grounds, Undying, Thrill of the Hunt and Retribution. It was something about good against Boon healing survivors. I'm interested to see it in action haha

The problem with the addon is that yes it has a duration of 10 seconds. But that starts after when you get the hit or the chain breaks. So you have to go through the weapon wipe animation first which brings you down to about 7 seconds of actual undetectable time and then if you reload after the hit you have about 3 seconds of undetectable which just isn't useful at all

Use Distressed, sloppy butcher, coulrophobia and BBQ or Nurse calling with the honylocust and barb wire add ons. Its a very efective anti-healing build.

Maybe try a build based around altering the terror radius and giving you Undetectable - Monitor & Abuse, Insidious, etc. Imagine the mind games you could play with survivors - it would be so hard for them to estimate your position. Then again, I'm kind of a new player, so please take my suggestion with a grain of salt

Maybe STBFL and a reload add-on could help with having more undetectable time after a hit?

They should triple the time it makes you undetectable, one of huntress's addons literally makes her undetectable for 30 seconds after reloading and it's not even iridescent

My friend has the most Deathslinger downs in North America and streams a few days a week on Twitch. His name is CatMarrow. He plays almost only deathslinger, unless chat (aka me) asks him to play another killer. He's a great deathslinger, even if he calls himself only average

I think map offerings can help show the maximum potential of addons - So i think you should burn a map that is beneficial for the build and then one that is bad for it.

I think Hellshire should give you Undetectable until you reload or hit someone. It would turn him from a ranged killer into a better tier 1 Myers, minus the movement speed being 4.4.

Btw hellshire iron probably needs a buff or a complete change (complete change I mean new iri add on and then make this a green add on or remove it from the game)

I think the problem with getting value out of the add ons is the MMR factor, which from the ranks and games kinda looks like you got screwed there, but also so did they.

Hey tofu I don't know if you will see this, but there is a super cracked slinger main I follow on tiktok who posts videos of the crazy shots they hit.

I think the other red add-on that gives Deathslinger Exposed hits at long range is actually a good pair for this Undetectable add-on because 8-9 seconds after reloading of movement is enough to get about over 1/3 of the way across the map, and then as long as that puts you within 15 meters or so of a survivor you can go for an Undetectable Exposed long range snipe on them. In fact if you really wanted to go for the Undetectable long range sniper gimmick, you could also use some of the perks that give you Undetectable status or that make survivors Oblivious (e.g. Tinkerer, Trail of Torment, Dark Devotion, Hex: Plaything). Then play a hit and run where you injure a survivor, and are hopefully Undetectable through various means so you can then get an unexpected long range Exposed hit on someone else.

just use aura reading perks tofu...replace thana with, maybe im all ears or undying... i think im all ears is good bcoz the undetectable is for chase after hitting the speared surv, probly best on indoor or at shack chase...so 50% chance u will get the add on value with im all ears..if they vault or some sh1t

Realistically you only get 5 seconds of undetectable, which is useless. The aura reading wasn't great but at least it gave more value in certain instances
