In case you forgot, Marin mentioned that if she were a seagull, she would fly away and sing for many people. Later, she says she made a wish to the Wind Fish, but doesn’t tell you what it was. That last scene with Marin’s face and the bird flying away (which was the reward for deathless btw), heavily implies that the Wind Fish granted her wish, letting her live on in the real world as a seagull.

The bonus was indeed the smiling Marin. She faded when the seagull flew off. This is symbolizing how she said she would ask the Wind Fish to become a seagull so she could see the world.

I'd absolutely adore a Bug Fables playthrough, it's such a delightful experience but I'd also love to watch Hades and Super Paper Mario because those are also awesome games! Honestly you guys could play a truck driving simulator and I'd still watch it, your personalities and dichotomy is so great to watch, best of wishes to you both!

Bug Fables is the smartest bet for the channel overall since its niche game with a huge fanbase+ Paper mario fanbase and also out of all the games mentioned its the most current IMO. Look into Ruigee mode if you do start a LP. Good job on this zelda one too, glad you bought the game again!

Bug Fables is an amazing game; it starts kinda rough but you can literally feel the devs improving as the game goes on, and it's just generally pretty amazing of an experience

Bug Fables would be ridiculously hype, it's such a good spiritual successor to paper mario 1 and has an enjoyable story, plus since there are only the 3 Characters in your party and they frequently talk to themselves it both endears them to you as well as prevents partners essentially disappearing after their chapter in story like paper mario partners tend to do.

Congrats on beating Link's Awakening! It's a weird little game but in a series that can get as formulaic as Zelda its good to have a strange one in the mix. Wait...28:20 Super Paper Mario, Bug Fables or Hades?! And I thought Sophie had a hard choice... No but seriously those are three GREAT games. My personal vote is for Bug Fables. If you love classic Paper Mario it (IMO) makes that formula even better. A lot of charm and some surprising depth in that game. Plus its an indie game and more people should play it! Yall should def play all three at some point though. Hades is honestly a masterpiece. I'm not exaggerating when I say it has one of my favorite stories in gaming. You'll be with it for a while though, so prepare for that when you pick it up. Super Paper Mario also has an amazing story (the best in the Mario franchise IMO) but its gameplay is...interesting to say the least. Looking forward to whatever you choose!

Lately I've been thinking that I would LOVE to see you two take on Outer Wilds! It has a stunning story that really works best for people who love to theorize and get really emotionally invested in games. If you do play it, play it as blind as possible - it hits the hardest if you have absolutely no idea what to expect.

I saw this on another video but I think Outer Wilds is a really good game. It’s very story related and has you theorizing the whole time. This channel seems to take time to think about story stuff so it could be fun. It’s best played completely blind.

Now just imagine doing this w/ a max of 14 hearts in the older versions, especially the original which had no other tunics, and completing the end of the game. Highly suggest you do get around to ALttP at some point, my personal favorite of the series and so enjoyable.

After a few years with this game I find the finale to be close enough to perfect that the problems with it stick out a lot. On the gameplay side, Nightmare was very close to being a great Zelda final boss, but unfortunately the Ganon phase doesn’t make sense (and as a nitpick should come after lawnmola, not before). Also while I’m perfectly fine with final bosses in games like this wanting to rule the world and that’s the beginning and the end of their motivation, I think that when the opportunity for the Nightmares simply wanting to keep existing is right there it’s disappointing that they also were evil. They are NIGHTMARES I guess but still.

Yaaaay you did it! And yeah, the bonus content for finishing the game without dying is that scene after "THE END" where shows you Marin. If you recall the conversation with her in the beach, she wished that she could become a seagull so she can see the world beyond the island, which it´s a bit impossible since they are limited to exist in the island by being only a dream. So the scene gives you the idea that Marin manage to be in the real world as that seagull in the last scene thanks to the Windfish granting her the wish >w< makes the game way more emotional with that subtle thing TwT Ahhh! love the game so much with the charm and the small dark contrast, it is well made.

I'm so proud of you guys for making it to the end and getting the good ending. You did amazing!!! Your videos always get me through tough times so thank you for that. A hades playthrough would be really fun to see but just play whatever game you feel like. I am excited to see what's next.

The most unfair thing with this game is how cryptic boss weaknesses are, particularly in that final fight. The game has a few places where you can be legitimately stuck if you ran out of the right weapon. The Ganon phase is particularly mean: only spinslash or Pegasus Dash hurts him, and the dash is hard to land.

Did you not die in your playthrough? If so, then I guess Marin in the ending cutscene was the bonus. In the original Gameboy version, after the credits rolled, you got to see Marin and Tarin fly by (like, literally flapping their arms) with some seagulls.

Here's a super obscure recommendation: Evoland 2. I always tell people to play only the second game because it's way more fleshed out than the first one with actual gameplay and story material, and it's pretty much unrelated to the first one. If you did want to play the first one, it's 4-8 hours of rather disappointing gimmicks and references, but Evoland 2 is around 20-30 genuinely enjoyable hours of game in all different styles. Look it up and see if you might like it!

Spirit Tracks is pretty good. The actual train parts are kind of annoying but everything else about it is pretty cool and it actually has some great puzzles. And yeah, Link Between Worlds is actually amazing. It's by far one of my favorite Zelda games. Though if you haven't beaten A Link to the Past you may want to do that first as Link Between Worlds is a direct sequel (you can definitely play it stand alone but it's fun to see all the references and stuff to the original game)

The creatures born of nightmares didn't have the power to include the worst thing about Moldorm: the pits. Shadow Ganondorf is where I found out that spin attack and charge stab do the same damage. I thought the spin was just for range. The thing after Ganondorf is supposed to be the sandipede that guards the fish key.

This is off the wall - but I would REALLY love to see you guys play Metroid Fusion (if you haven't played it already). I played for the first time it after I played Dread, and somehow Fusion was even better than Dread!
