Lets Play Sega Genesis On OSSC

The Open Source Scan Converter (OSSC) is a device that allows you to connect retro consoles at their highest available input, and output via HDMI for clear, vibrant gameplay on your HDTV. I connected my Sega Genesis using a Scart cable to the OSSC and it looks so good.
The OSSC takes the scanlines in these games and doubles it. You can go upto 5x the line doubling to see this device can do.

Where can I get a VGA cable for my Dreamcast? Also where did you purchase your scart cable for your Genesis?

I just got mine Yesterday and oh man, this thing is so nice. Sega saturn, dreamcast and n64 run so nicely. Scan lines look so good plus it is great how much control you have over everything. Good job on the video boss!

@@Call_MeJD I play a bit of everything. Just tonight I was testing the Terraonion MODE that I installed along with the ReSaturn PSU . Everything is running like a charm. 1TB SSD with all saturn games in it. I was playing battle garega, xmen vs street fighter and street fighter zero 3. I am actually exploring a lot of the Japanese games as I couldn't play before. Some of these Saturn games are expensive as hell too. I was born in Brazil and back home Sega was king. Lol Cheers! 👍

I like running cross scanlines with 960p for that crt look. This was something I experimented with awhile back before I convinced them to make a feature of it.

@@Call_MeJD Make sure you adjust the hybrid scanline feature and experiment with 4x, 5x to see how it looks with hour tv.

Great demo! I have a Model 1 first run Japanese Mega Drive on the way and I wish to pair it with my last gen Pioneer Kuro plasma screen. Don't really have the room for a nice CRT so this OSSC looks like it will fit the bill. Many thanks.

How are you connecting consoles to OSSC? With no mods to any of my consoles, I have: PS2 and Wii through component, Dreamcast through VGA, and for N64 I’m about to try S-Video to VGA converter. I’m not sure how to connect: Saturn, PS1, SNES, NES, or Genesis.

Great content. Real informative. Have a question, Don know if you can help (if so would appreciate it) i have a genesis model 1 hooked up to the Rad2x with mini hdmi to hdmi. Rad2x turns on no problem. On my TV it's showing a no signal. I'm thinking it could be my TV or the type of mini hdmi cable I use. Thoughts? Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. Sadly, I don't own the Rad2x for any of my retro consoles, so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this issue. Sorry about that.

Hey... I got my sega mega drive conected to my 55 inch samsung via the ossc.. I conect the sega to the tv with a rgb scart cable.. But I get no picture...? I tried with two sega mega drives.. Are there any setting which have to be done?

This is a great question. Sadly, this is beyond my scope because I’m not familiar with TVs with Scart built in. @retrorgb might be the person you might want to ask. Sorry for not knowing the answer.

Thanks for the reply.. No problem I sorted it out.... It was a defect cable, I got a new one rgb scart with audio and it works great..!! I can only see it in line2x and line5x though? Line5x beein the best option without a doubt..
