People need to stop feeling sorry for DICE and putting all the blame on EA. Yes EA is bad but DICE has proven over the last 4 years to be seriously incompetent when comes making such decisions. Small ones for example being: making the player name tag you killed white like regular text instead of bold red and dramatic like BF4which made kills way more satisfying; or removing the kill sound when you kill an enemy; restricting certain guns and gadgets to certain ARCHETYPES rather than the classes themselves; removing rented servers; and removing universal gun types available for all classes such as carbines shotguns and dmrs. And this is just BF5. Dont get me started on the Star wars games and BF1 These, and many other reasons , are why the Battlefield franchise is failing. and both DICE and EA are equally to blame.

Remember when BF1 got that TTK update that made the game so much better about a year in (if I recall right)? This is the opposite of that. Poor choice.

I put 110 hours before the TTK update. I really, really enjoyed it but now....it just feels bad. I really hope they change it back...and yea you can play on hardcore, but enjoy playing against max levels only.

I have played every PC battlefield since 1942. Despite all of the issues, I was sold on this title based on the return to tactical gunplay. After only a month, instead of receiving exciting new content, the game has been stripped to a single game mode (conquest core), and the rest of the game is an imbalanced unsatisfying mess. I am a casual player, but I am not here for a theatrical experience of sitting in a blob and throwing bullets until I randomly score a kill. The way this TTk patch was implemented and handled gives me little faith that the new content will be worth the price of the game or spending time on if already purchased. The reputation of this studio and franchise is wasted, and I feel like a chump for giving Dice and Battlefield a chance.

how did we go from what was Battlefield 3 and 4 to this? I mean what happened to that gritty, "realistic", feel to the battlefield games? Battlefield used to stand out among other games, and I mean really stand out, before I got into battlefield I felt that all the "hardcore" gamers played battlefield back when I was a wee lad. BF3 and BF4 were great gaming experiences that I still go back to today because battlefield now doesn't feel special anymore, or that unique. It feels stagnant and tainted by greedy business decisions. Sure the whole sjw thing was a mess, but it was only a mess because they made the whole women in battlefield thing the most advertised feature of the game, why? This is battlefield, a game about combat, large battles, chaos, and destruction. Sure put women in the game that's fine, but why use that as the reason to buy it? They should've expanded beyond 64 player servers, more variety of vehicles, weapons, implement levolution, implement behemoths from bf1, combine everything they have ever added to the battlefield series. Add a multiplayer mode where there's huge bomber formations and one team has to defend the bombers while the other tries to shoot them down, have huge naval battles with large battleships, submarines, planes, go beyond what people are expecting and you will sell many copies. That's it though isn't it, few devs ever go above and beyond expectations anymore, or try to really expand upon a solid foundation.

Honestly, I loved the quick TTK. This new update is killing this game for me, and this is by far my favourite BF game since 1942 so that kinda sucks. Last night playing I flanked around the enemy team, and came up beside about 8 of them looking the other way and all lined up for me to kill. Of course my MP40 just barely killed one of them when in reality I should have been able to get most or all of them. The beta had the best weapon balance IMO, the release game was not as good for me but it was still good. This update is making this game not fun unless you use specific weapons. Whats the point of having all the weapon variety if only a handful of them are worth using.

EA/DICE is just a string of frustrations, insults, and disappointments. I am done

Glad you mentioned visibility of players. Having spent so much time in bf3 to come to bfv, and not be able to see players without ultra high brightness was extremely frustrating.

I totally agree on the comment about joining a server. One team getting hammered so people start to leave and create spaces on the losing side. New players enter on the losing side and get a bad experience. I use the advanced server browser and more than often will enter a empty or low populated server to better my chances of a good experience.

So... I am a veteran BF player, I’m only 22 but I have been playing BF games for about 10 years now (yes, I was that squeaker). Over the years I have had great experiences in every BF game, and some terrible ones as well. My favorite game was Battlefield 3. I am a console player, I played BF2 and 2142 on my dad’s old laptop and played on the lowest settings possible. I have over 30 total days on the xbox 360 version of BF3 and similar numbers on BF4 for the Xbox one. I enjoyed BF1 but I was at college and I had gravitated over to Call of Duty and Halo, I even dabbled in the pro scene for a while and had some success. I’m very competitive, so BF1 wasn’t for me. When BFV was announced and I saw that it was WW2 I was worried, I had played COD WW2 extensively and I was ready to go back to a modern setting. When the beta was released, I honestly had a very poor experience, the gunplay felt wrong, the game ran poorly, I wasn’t a fan of the mechanics and attrition, and it left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I cancelled my preorder, and was set on just playing Black Ops 4. About a week ago I noticed that I had the 10 hour EA Access trial for BFV. Naturally I said what the heck, I’ve heard good things so let’s just try it. Honestly, it was a fantastic experience. I still have maybe 4 hours on my trial remaining and I actually was considering buying the game. But then DICE has to come in and do this TTK update. Its awful. The game is back to feeling like it did in the beta, I’m having to shoot enemies 1-2 more times, but somehow I die just as fast as I was before. This update didn’t fix what the problem was, it ruined the gunplay that was massively improved over the beta and BF1. I think I’m done with this franchise, DICE is too controlled by EA now. If this update stays, I won’t be purchasing this game. Its a punch in the face to battlefield fans, they didn’t listen to feedback, they negate things that they’ve worked to improve. I’ve had it. I think this will be the last straw for longtime Battlefield fans, it certainly will be for me. Hopefully DICE can use their ears this time around.

(and the complete absense of respect for the customer from EA's point of view) additionally, I assume it is caused by the netcode issues that make it appear you are killed in one shot (making it look like a fast TTK even if it isn't).

What i loved about the normal TTK was that almost every gun was deadly at almost any range if you were accurate with it, and flanks were actually pretty deadly so you had to watch out for them. Now its hard to get 3+ kills with a good flank because you're spotted at the time you get the first.

I hate it, stopped playing since the patch. If they don't change it back soon I'm just going to cancel my EA game pass. The only reason I'm paying them every month is for BF5 if they take the fun out of the game, I don't have any reason to keep lining their pockets. That's what they should be afraid of, losing people like me. WOW and Netflix have been proving how profitable service plans are. Where as one person might buy 2 of your games in a year leading to a $160 maximum profit, that same person would spend $240 over the course of a year. The steady income also looks better to both the stock market and investors because your business model poses less risk. So what is it going to be EA? Hope to get a few people to log in for a few more weeks and lose ten times as many of your core player base? Or keep that core player base happy and just except that you didn't put enough content into the game to really grab people. I know it's hard to except, but gamer's aren't quite as willing to swallow your shit these days. If you want to keep growing and selling games make them worth our time, instead of desperately trying to drain every last cent out of us. We are all sick of your bullshit.

The M1A1 Carbine is now an ammo eater like never before, this simple extra round needed to take out a target means im constantly running out of ammo with this gun. Seems to be a two kill gun before reloading now when before it was a 3 kill gun.

I think player visibility is better than the alpha and beta. Its not great and could be improved but I think it was part of the design initially. I dont completely hate it, a good hiding spot should be rewarded at times. They put at least 7 camos for one article of clothing to be able to blend in and hide. Im not wholly against the more defensive campy meta, i enjoy it, i much prefer to the call of duty style never camp just run and gun stupidity. A dirty camping spot should be rewarded. A MG with a perfect angle with good cover who sat there for a minute to wait to the push of enemies. He took the hit to his points for the past minute but gets to hose down an unsuspecting squad. I personally love that gameplay.

Yet it happens constantly,someone will just run straight up to me,shoot and sprint off,with little reason they should know I was there. I doubt DICE wanted to change the TTK. This is definitely EA forcing DICE to change the TTK because they have their thumbs shoved so far up their asses they have no clue what the real reason why people are leaving the game is.

I didn't even notice the ttk change, and I was using the Lewis gun and FG42 mostly. Finally got around to unlocking the MG42.

Gotta love that first GO map for Africa where you attack up hill with limited visibility and no vehicles on Hamada, it has to be the most painful experience in the entire GO list for me, especially with pubs with no coordination.

FINALLY somebody says it and I can stop thinking I just suck at this game: I cannot spot the enemies fast enough due to the visibility. Thank god I can shut down the game immediately with Alt F4, saves me a lot of cash on otherwise smashed keyboards. Oh and I'm still waiting for the "tactical" part to become visible, so far there is nothing tactical happening in this game. Run, shoot, die. Don't even try to revive, you die as well. Super tactical.

I like the new TTK. Went through almost every gun in the game and still did work (SLRs are broken obviously). The quick TTK just encourages camping. If you can't spot, can't see people, and every gun is high damage laser, then everyone goes gargoyle (almost doesn't matter where) and you're dead before you can make it across the street. And you can still punish people in the open if you hit your shots.

Was nothing wrong with the TTK in the first place.

I don't even want to play this game, and I used to be a die hard Battlefield player. I'm just going to fire up BF4.

This game was not even close to being ready was several months early. They will be studying this game in the future on what not to do.

This patch is hands down the worst patch I've ever seen in a battlefield game. This patch more or less broke BFV for me, as I don't want to be forced into a special conquest game to play with the old TTK.

I dont know why they got rid of the infantry playlist after a week. I wish I could play Dom Frontline and TDM together. Thought everyone felt that way. Then Dice goes the opposite way again

It isn't the fast time to kill. When you're being shot at,it doesn't register correctly and it feels like you died to a single bullet even if someone emptied a clip on you. It's bad netcode and very hard to fix.

Funny thing I have noticed is that since DICE decided the ttk needed to be changed and not fix the ttd, it has not changed the fact that the ttd is so fucked that you still die in what feels like a split second. I won't be playing until this is fixed. Way to suck the fun out of this game DICE.

I was highly interested in this game and defended it in early trailers and previews. On launch I did not buy it cause I generally don't feel motivated enough to buy any game these days. I just invest my frustration in games I already own. But I always had an eye on BFV, but now I'm definately completely over this franchise (favourite shooter of mine). And being both a swede and a DICE-supporter that is genuinely disheartening. All games and developers tending to the needs of the promised newborn players these days. Every single one wants to be the travesty of Fortnite. Every "good old company" is slowly dying, treading the same footsteps over and over, or squeezing all the money out of dumbass mobile players. I liked BF3, MW2, the Halo trilogy, the Mass Effect trilogy, WoW: Wrath of the lich king, TES: Oblivion, Assassin's Creed Ezio era, Original Pokémon for crying out loud(!!!) and now every single game is just so boring. Played PUBG until I hated it because it was a drop of water in a dry wasteland - a new way of playing a game and challenging your perception, and then the billion dollar gaming industry followed suit. I already drank that droplet dry, and yet the industry managed to not only make said wasteland dryer but they turned the dead depressing landscape into a franchise. Not a single creative mind left on the planet soon? Time to turn to religion(?). Since we're already going back into a "dark age" yet again. Might as well start screaming in the streets - "The end is nigh!"

desperation makes them do a lot of things they would have never done before. BF5 is a bigger fail then BF hardline.

Unrelated but similar issue. The Lewis gun is glitched when using the 3x scope and extended mag perk. The "3x" scope is really just a 1.25x increase

Nice video LevelCap, very much agree with you. I posted this same comment on Jackfrags video that seemed similar to yours. Really hope DICE hears us. As "a casual Battlefield player" myself, of which I believe they are trying to target, I might as well express how I feel to DICE/EA if they are listening. Main point: Loot boxes aside, BFV feels like Battlefront 2 all over again and this is unfortunate. I waited at least 6 months before I played Battlefront 2 just because I did not want to deal with the frustrations, the bugs, and progression issues. The core TTK/TTD was fine in BFV starting out. It is the bugs, the capped ranking system/coin issues, the occasional 1 frame deaths, and now the longer TTK that make me not care to play it right now. Fix these issues, and I shall return often. Fix them not, to the RD2 single player story mode I will go. For a very long time..... THINGS THAT DO NOT HELP ME AS A CASUAL PLAYER: 1. NEW GUNS FIXED TO TIME PERIODS: When they come out, let them just be out so we can unlock at our leisure. We cannot play this 24/7, and nothing frustrates me more than having a core part of the game locked to a time period. I have friends that stayed up late, getting only a few hours of sleep because there was no other time to unlock the last VGO gun within the last time period. This upsets their families and upsets bosses when they come in tired from playing games. Compound that with Christmas coming up, and this is going to be a nightmare for some. People need to be responsible, but this system forces players that enjoy BFV to sacrifice their priorities for a core item. This is not good for the longevity of the community and people will eventually choose to not play at all once it happens enough times. I know some people who plan on not even buying this game because this will be a problem. To combat this, my friend and I loaded our profiles on each others systems so if one of us has extra time, we help the other unlock guns to avoid family issues. People shouldn't have to do that. 2. A LONG TTK: I am not sure why this assumption is ever made by a company, but a long TTK does not cater to casual players in an FPS (stated my Jack already probably). The biggest frustration in BF1 was its long TTK. Even though I am in the terrible-average range, a short TTK allows me to flank and get some kills in order to combat quicker reaction times, better bullet damage knowledge, and more head shots made by veteran players I face head on. By extending the TTK, this makes flanking less effective, resulting in fewer kills for us casuals, thus being less fun and more frustrating. If both head on engagements and flanking engagements are futile, we "casuals" are stuck to reviving and playing objectives which is only fun for so long when getting no kills. 3. HAVING TO CHOOSE ASSIGNMENTS: Assume I will probably forget to click stuff and will probably forget or choose the wrong thing. Getting a reward for jumping in a random game and playing my style is the most rewarding thing I can get. Having to go through the setup options just to choose what achievements I want to "try" and go for feels tedious and really just wastes time that I would rather spend "in servers," playing the game. Perhaps you are in game and you it makes more sense to choose a different class. If I do not have the correct achievement picked out for the new class I am playing, do I keep playing to my chosen achievement or do I forget it and play to win the match? That question does not create a good game experience and does not actually reward me for playing to the match rather than my achievement. 4. MENUS/ACCESSIBILITY: The fewer things I have to click on to achieve the max game experience, the more I will enjoy the game and come back to it. Going between menus takes time. Exiting matches takes time. The longer it takes me to click on all my achievement options, gun settings, camo options, etc, the less time I actually spend playing. Specifically in the load-out menu, changing screens gets so exhausting, just have it all together on one screen please. Have my soldier with the gun showing, and I can just cycle through every option right there. Currently, every option has its own screen and it is so inefficient and tedious and somewhat nauseating that I honestly dread having to do it, and I love to customize. Even after unlocking the ability to customize gun settings, I still hardly mess with them because of all the screens I have to go through. Considering that you have to back out of your active match to do some things just makes customizing less likely. Unless something is changed, cosmetics are really just going to go by the way side for me (after I purchased the deluxe version strictly for cosmetics). Bringing the phone app back (without bugs) would help ease the pain a bit I think. Good luck BFV, wish you the best!

I unlocked the ZH just before the update and thought it was pretty good, usually 2 shots to kill, the next day it was 3 to 4 shots in most cases... it has a 6 round magazine... you're using half the mag per kill now! The higher power semi auto rifles in the Assault class have a lot more ammo and reload faster, they're so much better than the self loaders except at extreme ranges, but even then having 10-30 rounds more than makes up for that. I was sniping across aerodrome with the G43 earlier it was great.

They still need to fix the bugs when you lag. One is when you shoot, your shots ghost and not register. But everyone is moving and shooting normally on screen.

I don't mind the player visibility and detection of infantry as it is, the amount of times i have been saved by lying prone is countless from tanks to mass groups of infantry walking/driving by you. not to mention it helps MMG users setup ambushes and allows recons to hide to essentially provide reconnaissance with spotting scopes without being detected, however if you a keen eye for details you can easily spot players lying prone easy

Yes, TTK NEEDS to go back to how it was. TTD NEEDS a fix. BUT, the enemy visibility is perfect how it is IMO. Please don't put glowing red light on all the enemies like BLOPS4. I like being able to hide if need be, I like actually using my uniform camo. The tracers are far more than enough to identify a attacking enemy.
