Any assignments that says "In a Round", or In a Life" is awful.

Assignments be like : "Get 22 Kills while defending Objective A or C, while the enemy is Crouched, in 1 round "

The assignments are the same for the semi's. At least with bolts, u only need 1 headshot. But ridiculous none the less. 20 headshot kills while on an objective for a semi is actually 40 headshots in a round.

You think they’re bad on PC? Try doing them on console.

I agree 100% Just let the assignments be a grind and let us eventually get the skin by using the weapon alot instead of stressing us getting 20 headshots in obj area in one round? That one is just insane.

The "In a round" assignments have been the worst, most unsatisfying assignments In all the BF games I've played, ESPECIALLY when they are programmed to reset after a match if you didn't complete the whole assignment even though you finished that "In a round" part but didn't already grind out the universal one like "Get 40 objective kills" BF4 was even worse with this tbh, to the point where I've felt disrespected as a player. at least they haven't locked weapons behind them in V, yet...

Took me forever to complete the last FG-42 mastery assignment, where you need to get 20 kills while on an objective in one round. I was playing normally (PTFO) and no matter how hard I tried, even when getting 45 kills in a round, I couldn't get 20 kills while on an objective because I was always trying to get to the next objective and kept running into enemies in between. Rounds simply didn't last long enough for me to complete the assignment. To finally complete the assignment I had to start camping on a taken objective and wait for the enemy to come and try to retake it. I get that they're meant to be a challenge, but these assignment really do encourage anti-PTFO player behavior and literally ruin the game. *DICE must do something about it.*

The tank assignment for the stug was difficult, if you didn't start the game in a tank/armoured car it was almost impossible to complete the assignment.

I want BF1 sight customization again, and not all sights even of the same type are equal because some of the Allied sights are inferior to the Axis sights, annoyingly. Give us the ability to make iron sights 2x, especially as the shotguns, of all weapon classes, has a 2x iron sight option no other class has. The 1x sight is pointless on many weapons as you're better off hipfiring at the ranges it'd be effective at. Plus, having higher magnification sights would reduce the visibility issues.

Recon class: My last class to hit Rank 20; still at 17 and climbing. I'm an awful sniper, as you well know. It can be hysterically fun to dome people from a distance over and over again, but I just have a difficult time doing that given my (lack of) skill. Recon assignments: ignored. Again, as we've discussed, I'm basically punting on the the gun-specific assignments for mastery and/or proficiency. That's not just for Recon, but for all classes. I think the entire Mastery path for all of the guns in the game is sub-optimal. Tie the mastery of a weapon just purely to the number of kills you get with it, like they did in previous titles. Make it 1000 kills if you want to make it time-consuming. But don't make it "10 kills while standing on one leg, balancing on a ledge of a brick wall."

You forgot to mention that Selbstlader 1906 which doesn't one shot headshot does have same requirements: 20 Objective headshots in a round 10 Objective headshots in a life

I think the objectives are still skill based, but I agree that they are still very dependant on circumstance. I actually completed this exact sniper objective on ps4 today on front lines on Hamada because the games last for an hour if the teams are even semi equal.

The objective headshot kills are even worse with the self loading rifles. I don't think I'll ever be able to get rsc golden receiver.

Simple fix dice. Make all assignments stright kills: All Proficiency assignments- 40 kills each Mastery assignments- 75 kills each. For snipers just tweak it to REASONABLE kills though.

100% agree with your views on this. I tend to get to the level V assignments and just give up on them. I can't use bolt action rifles on PS4 at all so I haven't even attempted them. I get that skill ceiling is important but unless you are crazy skilled or lucky, a grind option is needed.

I think you got it spot on,assigments need to passively track and if that was the case that would solve the objective area issue as most would be completed gradually in probably 3-4 rounds of conquest imo

Tip: Rotterdam Breaktrough (attack), left flank into buildings near defender spawn point with windows to the main street. Set up a tent and start sniping.

I play recon most of the time and i love the bolt action rifles but once I get to those ridiculous assignments I start getting frustrated and lose interest in playing that weapon, so I go medic, and repeat through all the weapons and now I got a whole bunch of assignments I absolutely CANNOT complete. Like you said it takes a perfect, long, even game to have that happen

Just as levelcap said. Remove the time requirement (in a life/round etc) on assignments but i would say that they also need to be able to be changed when you are in a round. So damn annoying to have to leave the server just for changing assignments!

A little tip to complete the sniper assignment(s) is to play conquest on the map Aerodrome. I play on Xbox and have completed 2 full mastery assignments for the gewehr and the Lee Enfield, and the last assignments I did for the rifles were on that map in conquest mode most of my kills I got on the flags C,D,F and A. Hopefully helped.

I really enjoy the recon class but I think the gadgets do need some loving. I’m also a completionist so I love going for the gold challenges, however the over specific assignments are so situational that it’s almost impossible to complete some of them, they do need to overhaul the assignment system

I've been trying to complete the last mastery challenge on the gewerh 43 for the past month. 10 headshots in objective areas in one life or 20 headshots in objective areas in 1 round. Since the gewerh 43 is a semi auto rifle, 1 shot to the head isn't enough so the only way to get kills are on oblivious prone players that sit in objectives. But since 90% of prone players use MMG's, I have given up on trying to complete it. These assignments are atrocious and really need fixing

Great Video. I agree completely. Hopefully Dice will get the message and rework assignments. I love playing and completing assignments but am also frustrated by similar points to those you are making.

Agreed, I get what they are trying, they are try to appeal to those that hate snipers and get them to PTFO more but ironically it’s causing more camping because you have to get so many in short time. Therefore you can’t be ass aggressive and risk taking, and you only take shots you know will get your goal. For the spotting flare I think should be longer duration but as it’s duration drags on it descends and it’s radius reduces (it does already more noticeable decrease then).

Fully agree. The prone headshot assignment was driving me mad. You get one or two kills, then you have no chance of facing a counter-sniper because they can strafe properly while you are crawling around on the floor like a moron. After a few days, I found out that you can do it in the co-op mode, which was a lifesaver. Now I am starting on this one for objective headshots.

Assignments definitely need a rework. I’ve spent the past 2 days trying to complete my 20 headshot objective kills in one round for the Gewehr. They are just way too circumstantial. I think a universal “get 60 headshots” would work just fine, and encourage all sorts of gameplay for the Sniper/Recon class.

I've been working on the ZH Mastery VI for 3 nights in a row now. Closest I've got is 18 in 1 round. The frustration is real!

Here’s how you do it. Breakthrough. Wait till your on the attacking team. There will be tones of players in the objective on certain maps. It’s much easier to do on Narvik or Rotterdam where everyone is on the points. Also Hamada can work too.

I'm convinced that there are secret trackers running in the background for assignments, I'm on XBOX1 and for the longest time I was trying to get the Golden skins for the KE7 but often failing, I noticed that eventually I was awarded the skins even though I didn't complete all of the tracked assignments.

I’ve found with the 20 headshots in a round assignment with both the RSC and the Selb 1906 that if you get x amount of headshots in objective areas one round and whatever else you need to get to 20 next round, I got both good receivers. I played breakthrough and the key is to not leave the server. Same thing worked with the mg42 for me as well. It’s odd but pretty much, get 20 objective headshots and don’t leave the server.

Dice did change the assignment to unlock the Stug 4 tank, the last one at least. They realised that getting 20 attacking objective kills with tanks is literally impossible, instead now you only need 5

For M1A1 the final challenge is get 20 headshot objective kills. I just gave up.

I freakin hate assignments for vehicles, it can be so frustrating. I just love an infantry gameplay, and "having" to play with vehicles, absolutely is killing my desire to play BF5.

I can confirm the hidden tracker. There's no way I got 20 objective headshots in a round, but after several games trying, the challenge was completed.

The 1906 has the SAME requirements as the bolt actions. And when it takes two shots, even headshots, to kill, it makes the level V assignment nearly impossible

I thought they were okay they really show your dedication to the class now that we no longer have service stars. And i did the assignments for the m95 and the kar98k on ps4.

Thank you for this video... Reflects my thoughts exactly, and before I saw this I wasn't sure if I was alone / on the fringes with my opinion. I was *ultra* trying to do this exact challenge (20 objective headshots in a round) with the Selbstlader 1906, which was especially difficult because there are no one shot headshot kills. The gun doesn't really lend it's self to headshots by design -- it's better served by taking risky / aggressive shots quickly on targets without always taking the time to line up a headshot... It's just a different beast for different play. The challenge really seemed to be a quick copy and paste job of the already absurd challenge of the bolt actions. I think I managed to get 14 objective headshots on my best attempt... Eventually, after trying long enough, I guess I reached the magic 'hidden third' requirement of overall number of objective headshots, and received the challenge accomplishment. I was almost disappointed, like I had somehow failed as the slowest kid in the class, and the game decided it was time to give me the participation prize out of sympathy... And that was that. Again, it's good to hear the same frustrations expressed here by excellent players.

Gold Assignment can be a pain to finish I was doing the M1922 MG last one was such a pain to finish

I think that it should just be like assault rifle masteries like ‘kill 60 enemies with headshots in objective areas’ or ‘kill 20 enemies with headshots while in objective areas in one round’

I agree with you there Levelcap on the assignments. As someone who is going for the Mastery Dogtag and Gold Plated on every weapon I've used a bunch of weapons so far (Every SMG, first 2 support and Recon weapons and up to the Turner SMLE on the Assault) and the Recon class and Semi-autos are definitely the most pain in the ass to complete. The Recon Weapon assignments definitely need changing with the headshot challenges as they are borderline impossible plus in my opinion the last Semi-auto assignments is a pain too (get 10 headshots while in objective areas in a life or 20 in the round) is just so tough to do especially for a Xbox player

The golden receiver piece for the MG34 and MG42 needs 20 kills in an objective area in one round or 10 in one life in an objective area. I did it both times on Devastation while laying in the corner of the church next to the entrance. Got 35 kills while camping there for the whole round. Enemies where furious.

The assignments can be a major pain in the ass. I was close to getting 20 kills in a match with the lee-enfield, but was 3 kills short. Even doing Grand Operations with the assignment didn't help more than doing Conquest or Frontlines :(

A Mini-Artillery Strike flare like the one the NPCs get in Combined Arms would be pretty useful for Recon. Otherwise, maybe giving them access to Machine Pistols could be a neat way to make the class more versatile?

Good news everyone. Unless it has been recently patched there is indeed a hidden 60 kills total for headshot kills in objective areas. I have full gold skins for the zh-29 and for four semi-auto rifles. Just start adding up your kills every round and once you reach 60 you will get the last mastery skin. It won't tell you in game but when you quit you will find it in your armory:)

They need to do something about the sniper glint. You shouldn't be getting out-sniped by the Assault class because they can send lead down just as accurate, if maybe a little less accurate, and faster, and they don't have an immediate "Here I am!" scope glint

I'm on PC, I thought it would have been impossible to get a few guns gold. For those type of "in a round or in a life" assignments, there really is a hidden option. I got the M1A1 gold only because of that hidden part. Its 100 of whatever they want you to do.

This is a very good and mature complaint. One thing I really enjoy with DICE is that they tend to listen and create patches with feedback from the community.. one example is the latest tides of war reward... the german tank... the last step to unlock it required 20 kills on enemies in an objective area by using mobile vehicles.. they changed it 2 days ago from the initial 20 kills required to 5 kills... really nice move and respect to DICE... I also hope they make the final sniper assignments for the gold skin easier... because it is extremly hard

Got this done today on console. 10 headshot kills in a life. Kar98 while attacking, can’t think of the name of the map. It’s the one with the long destroyed bridge in the middle. Would recommend Airborne mode. Stay on or near the road leading up to the bridge lots of enemies crossing between A&B objectives and decent cover from destroyed vehicles placed on road. There’s ammunition crate near as well. Key was not to be to aggressive.

The last mastery assignment is insane for pretty much every weapon. 20 kills in one round or 10 in one live while being in objective areas and hipfiring? I had a hard time to complete the same assignment without the objective area extra...let me do 100 without the round limitation..

They still need to fix this. I don't mind the "in a round" challenges, but be realistic. Out of 50 kills, I only got 10/20 headshots. This is just ridiculous.

I liked the missions. I have all bolt action rifle assignments completed. Very challenging but that's the point. It's not suppose to be easy. But I see what you are saying about some of the problems and totally agree. The assignments should be more concerned with team play and the objectives. Breakthrough was a good way of doing these assignments.

I appreciate you speaking that frankly about the sniper class Level Cap, and I agree, there is a complete disconnection between the role of a sniper and the current vs current requirements in the game. I appreciate that an unbalanced sniper class can be frustrating for other players, but with lateral thinking this can be overcome as we saw in other iterations of the BF franchise. Bit why nurf the class this badly is the question on my lips? I play out of Australia and we have real issues with hitboxes and netcode in general. I hope Dice takes on board these issues. :^)

I’ve done the objective headshots for every bolt action. Just play breakthrough and get the assignments done when you are attacking.

It tracks. It's universal on all last assignment assignments. 60 for assault, medic, and support but I'm not so sure it's 60 for the snipers.

the most recent example of this bs is the last tides of war assignment to get the new german tank is to get 20 kills while in a vehicle and you have to be attacking the objective.

I did those assignments in two days since the launch of the game with all sniper rifles. All of them completely covered with gold skins. No problem whatsoever.

One thing I've found that helps complete these assignments are going to the new combined arms mode I usually solo the maps trying to complete the assignment. Not sure if the objective area kills would work their though..

I personally think the prone headshot kills assignment is way worse, but yea both of them are kind of frustrating, I managed to complete the masteries for the lee enfield and the m95. Pro tip, it is much easier to go for the 10 kills in 1 life because with recon you can just be super passive and run to a health station when you need to.

I’m on PS4, got all assignments done on all four bolt actions. Best tip I can offer is aerodrome breakthrough as attacker. One I got done first try the others took multiple. I played super passive (camping a lot) which was boring asf.

It's also the final challenge for all semi auto rifles and self loading rifles. I have so many weapons on that final assignment but just don't want to put myself through that. Those assignments are so ridiculous. Especially the 20 hs kills on enemies in obj areas. I've done it for all 4 bolt action rifles and the last one made me rage so bad, I smashed my mouse. The teams have to be perfect, has to be the right scenario, the right map etc... I've managed to do it on Breakthrough Aerodome as attackers camping my dik off in spawn headshoting enemies on obj A. Hey, Dice's basically put you in this situation. Remember the 300 kills to unlock the sniper variant of the weapon in BF1? That's what it should be.

The bolt action assignments are the same as the self-loading rifles have fun with those!
