Leveling Clip problems? Here is the solution. Easy fix With many types of leveling systems one of the main problems people run into when removing the clips the next day, is that the bases of the clips do not all break properly below the tile at the base of the clip. This is caused by either thinset mortar coming up the grout lines and wedging the clip or the tiles pinching the clips holding them in place. In this video I give you a solution to this problem that will eliminate almost completely this problem and all your clips will break how they are supposed to at the base of the tile, leaving no legs sticking up above the tile. I started watching your videos to do the tile in my bathroom, people loved it, I was asked to help a friend and then all of a sudden their friends asked to hire me to do their tile... That was a couple years ago and now I am doing this on the side making good money to support my family better than my fire medic job did and I really enjoy it! Anytime I have a question I come to you and I have learned so much from you, thank you so much for doing these videos you have helped my family more than you could ever know.. (I took my 4 year old to Disney world this year because of this work) Also you remind me so much of my dad who I really miss so there is that connection too. Anyways I wanted to tell you thank you so so much!

I just discovered this trick this week accidently. My vendor was out of 1/8 clips, so went 1/16 and used 1/8 spacers. I'm actually happy with the level of control i had.

I recently had some of the Home Depot Lash clips not break and caused me some grief cutting them out. I ended up chipping some tile using my utility blade. When they don't break properly it's a nightmare.

Guys I apprenticed under used the Home Depot brand clips. As his helper, I became very proficient at using a knife to cut broken clips out 😂 At the time I always told myself when I do my own tile work I would use better clips. 3 years later I use T lock and rarely have a problem

I'm not sure how removing spacers early works. As I butt more tiles to the installed ones, can't those move if spacers are removed?

Tiles are locked in place by the leveling system

They are called pro knee I work in Boston union and every one I know use them. After you get use to them nothing else will do(they are that good)

I used 1/16" QEP LASH yellow clips from Home Depot in 1/8" grout lines on 400 sq ft of floor and none broke wrong (or broke when tightening.)

QEP lash clips are the worst. There are better products out there.

They worked for me just fine for 24x24 tile. And they are cheaper than others - probably there is a reason but it escaped me. I clean my grout lines as I work and don't leave big blobs of cement, maybe that helps... @@Etherglide

Hi Sal , thanks for this tip from a pro..I would've never thought of this.. I also have problems with these stupid clips breaking on me while setting tiles..so much so that I don't use the tool...even with my fingers they break...I baby them and caress them , seems even looking at them and they break ...it's so annoying especially in situations where I can't insert another...I bought these clips that said proudly made in America, so I figured wow maybe these are better made!!! I should've stuck with the cheaper Chinese crap..do these clips ever break on you like this...???
