Paano po ang basa na kailangan kong gawin sa law school? Bakit po tuwing nagbabasa ako, lagi akong inaantok kahit na kumpleto po ako ng tulog?
Bakit po tuwing nagbabasa ako, parang wala po akong naiintindihan, kahit na paulit-ulit ako sa iisang paragraph? Bakit po wala akong maalala sa mga nababasa ko sa book? Nag-aral naman po ako, pero bakit parang laging kulang pa?
Hindi ka nag-iisa, kapatid. Reading textbooks for law school is among one of the most common struggles we have for law school. We read for hours and hours on end, but we don’t remember much by the end of the day.
Mas malala, kapatid ay ang feeling na natapos na ang araw, pero pakiramdam natin, wala talaga tayong natapos. Pakiramdam natin, papasok na naman tayo nang walang alam.
In this episode, I want to talk to you about how to read textbooks for law school with efficiency. I want to share with you some tips on how you can read and understand textbooks and how to carry over what you read into your notes, and translate that to decent grades for recitations and for exams.

- titigan - balikan - identify thesis statement per paragraph - take note of similar rule, related provisions, questions on margins - active reading - underline most important statement - go back and read slowly (isaulo) - read each sentence you’ve mark and marginal notes - answer questions > choose only ONE important sentence per paragraph > before classes read highlighted sentences then read marginal notes > before exams rewrite sentences highlighted > use post it notes and flags when distracted: ! write all distracting thoughts on a piece of paper/notebook ! embrace and let go of your thoughts ! when you read, your mind must be free from distraction and ready to receive information ! read all citations *read as if it’s the last copy*

I never thought im going to finish a 40mins "video"/picture without going drowsy. I always feel sleepy whenever i watch long video. I've been struggling since day one of being a law student and it keeps me thinking if I can make it until the end of 1st semester, many of my classmates in law school had withdrawn their subjects and I would like to do the same but then I realize its just a matter of self discipline and perseverance and stop on doubting the things that has not yet happened. Sir Lex maraming po ako natutunan sa blog mo regarding kung paano magtagumpay at makatapos sa Law School at makapasa sa pinakamahirap na lahat ng government regulated examination at magiging abogado in the future. Nagiging excited ako at puno ng kaalaman dahil sa video blog mo na magiging handa ako sa gyera sa pagiging law student kahit may edad na ako. I listen to kundiman in a very very low volume. One earphone lang so I can still hear myself while orally reading. Pwede rin po yung meditation sounds as yt na hours ang duration. But very very low volume lang. :D

Thank you for your question, kapatid. A third of whatever you learn from law school will come from your professor. They have years of experience in the law. Their understanding is more practical, vs. theoretical (compared to textbooks). They can show you what to focus on. There have been courses in law school where I had to teach myself the law because my professors rarely made appearances. I read 2-3 textbooks, minsan pang-apat ang hiram sa law library. Yet, I still learned a lot from my professors. They have validated my understanding, cleared up confusion and showed me practical solutions to possible problems I might have in practice.
