Lexus ES300 with very low idle after disconnecting the battery. This idle relearn procedure works on Toyota and Lexus, with the 1MZ engine experiencing low idle after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. This procedure works for Lexus ES300, Toyota Camry (2003-2006), and Lexus RX 300 (1998-2003). Symptoms are similar to a faulty air idle control valve or dirty throttle body on a higher mileage Lexus ES. The car had low idle and would occasionally stall. The procedure took about 15 min to relearn the idle. For the first 7 minutes, I left the car to idle on its own. Then, at around minute 8, I pressed the brake pedal a few times and held it for 10 seconds. I did that about five times. Afterward, I pressed the gas pedal gently, raising the RPM to about 2,300 RPM 5 times slowly. After about 14 minutes, I put the car in park and let it idle. Next, I took it on a test drive, and the car, after 10 minutes, regained perfect idle.
