In this video I explain the quoted amount I received from a local Lexus Dealership to replace the front brake pads and rotors on my 2015 Lexus RC 350 F-sport. I also discuss the risks with using their one piece cast rotors instead of the OEM 2-piece rotors.

Thanks man this really help I called the dealer got the same price so I was like nope time to look up for some rotors so I found your video and got the same set up for just $194 big ole difference ! Great video bud 👍

Binh Do thanks man! Glad it is helpful. I ended up just getting the single cast rotors. I didn’t want to deal with fitment issues or clicking from the 2 piece rotors so I put solid 1 piece rotors on. Giving up some performance on the braking but saving a ton since I don’t do a lot of tracking or racing in my RC. Hope that helps!

Ahmed Elsayed hey there Ahmed! Thanks for checking out the vid, so far the brakes are doing perfectly fine, no issues or problems. No sounds either! I’m gonna do a vid next month for a 1 year update as well. The lock down kept some heavy mileage off, but so far they are top notch! 😎🍻👍

Was just quoted $1,300 at dealer for front pads and rotors for RC F. Assume it was before tax too

Ouch, yeah I am not sure what the difference is with the F-Sport vs RC F but I would guess they are probably 4 or 6 piston calipers so you may need a difference sized rotor and pad as well.

Hey David these pads squeek hard and its making my wife trip . What can I do about the noise from the pads if you used the same ones you had to sealt with the problem? Thank u

Hey Christopher, yeah the squeaking can get really annoying fast. Did you replace just the pads or the pads and rotors at the same time?

Hey man! I appreciate the video. I've been having an issue with my stock Lexus brakes as well, but I'm getting the high pitch squealing. Even after having the dealership install shims to reduce the noise. Would you recommend these rotors and brakes for my situation? Since putting them on have you noticed any noise? And did you end up putting them on for each wheel?

James Wishart if you’re having the issue with the F-Sport brakes, I would recommend the r1 concept brakes as I have not had any issues with noise since installing them on my RC 350 f sport. James Wishart okay yeah, I think honestly any brakes you get would be fine the key is to use the same brand of pads and rotors. Trying to mix Lexus with after market parts is going to cause the noise issues imo. So far no noise to date with the R1 concepts. Braking distance is a bit further than Lexus OEM brakes though. That I can say is a downside.

They quoted me the same price! So it’s okay to change the original 2 piece rotors to a one piece? Even if the rear ones stay original?

Hey there Vanessa! Yes, as long as you change the rotors and pads together for the front you'll be fine, the rear ones can stay original. The only time it becomes a problem is when you mix and match rotors and pads (for example if you used Lexus OEM pads on the 1-piece rotors). I have not heard any knocking sounds. Does it sound like the brakes? Does it happen when you brake only? Might be suspension related if it happens when you hit bumps.

Sounds like the RC 350 F Sport just eats through pads because I only got 25k out of a set but I also drive it decently hard lol 🤷‍♂️

Yup! My neighbor is a senior mechanic for a Lexus dealer in my town and he said typically the pads get from 15-30K depending on the driving conditions. I believe it too bc the amount of brake dust they put out is just insane, lol.

Blimey I've just been quoted £464 to change my RC300H front brake discs and pads in UK. They'll sell me the parts for £190 so guess what - I'm doing it myself! BUT, $1100 for just the front brakes!! They are highwaymen! Robbing *#@!*# 🤑🤑

Yeah the rotors are no joke! I noticed that the F-Sport brakes on my RX 350 I purchased are not the same as the ones on my RC so when it comes time for those brakes I hope they are more reasonably priced. Thanks for sharing your experience with yours! 😎🍻👍
