@@KorbenTheFireX Their lackluster updates to phones owned by their existing customer base (like me) didn't help. I now have a Samsung S21 purchased after LG gave up, but LG wasn't going to get any more money from me even if they were still around. Very good hardware, let down by them seeming to always chase the future and not keeping the current and past customers happy.

I do applaud them for trying something new every time, but that also seems to have been their downfall. They came up and abandoned any new ideas, and kept some ideas that fans didn't really want (i,e boombox speakers). They never really went deep into the core functionalities of a smartphone, the ABCDs (Audio, Battery Camera Display, which ironically LG has mentioned this and said they will be focusing on it) never was good enough. Their recent LG phones used sub par BOE made displays without any high refresh rate features, their cameras were okay, but nothing to write home about other than their "ASMR" feature for god knows what percent of LG phone users will uses, their wired Audio was the best, until they got rid of their Quad DACs and people started moving on to wireless earbuds and headsets. The only thing they did good was the battery department I guess. An interesting sidenote, the board members of LG mobile was pissed when the film "Parasite" had the rich family using iPhones while the poor family was still using an LG G3, which I guess goes to show the public reputation of the brand that is LG phones.

Wing was my favorite it actually became my daily driver after I convinced myself that I can quit the Samsung Eco System for sometime and I loved it even tho not having the top of the line SOC it was very fluent even with both displays running and I loved everything the stockish android which is not too stock and does have extra features and the quick swivel which I miss on my ZFold 3 but people say "Good things always end early"

It is a shame. Their phones were very creative and had some very interesting features, but unfortunately bad update support and quality control issues made me switch to Samsung. Both my V10 and a family member's G3 died of old age with a boot loop (poorly soldered SoC or RAM maybe?). Hopefully there's going to be another manufacturer continuing their legacy in the future.

Hey, it's my phone! Genuinely a solid device, even ignoring the wacky screen. Wish LG kept making phones, because I've always been a fan of theirs. People gave them a lot of flak, but they were one of the few companies trying out legitimately interesting and unique ideas. Quite a few things they came up with stuck and are now common features on any smartphone. Definitely not a perfect company by far (see the lackluster updates and lousy marketing), but I'll miss their ideas. By the way, if anyone's considering one of these- a case and screen protectors (yes, protectors- there's 2 screens, after all) are a must. This video is a great example of why.

It's really only for people who know how to experiment with how they use their phone and their apps. Over time, I've gotten used to having a second app or work space at the ready, and I'd have a tough time going back to a normal phone. Really, if someone has to pitch it to you, it probably isn't a good fit for you.
@forrestp33
@forrestp33 2 жыл бұрын
@@IrenMasot Hence why LG is no longer making phones. It's OK to have a niche product that appeals to Techy people who love to figure things out, but modern smartphones are made for the masses. LG should have concentrated on flagship phones that would be at least good Android options to Samsung. But they chose to make something weird, throw it at the wall and hope it stuck, giving them more market share. It didn't work. I suppose it can be used to ward off Vampires when the battery gives out.

@SunCoastFilms
@SunCoastFilms 10 ай бұрын
@@v7xgaming As far as mine goes, I put it in airplane mode for heavy filming. But with this being said, the battery is not what it used to be. It's now glitchy sometimes when filming and having to restart often. Sadly I'm retiring it and getting the Samsung Ultra. My wing isn't what it used to be. I still have good days though with no glitching. Make no mistake I am going to miss the dual camera filming. This phone was a beast at one time. She just seems tired now. I have an LG G8 ThinQ, and in some ways it works better than my Samsung S21 5G. I use the Samsung as my daily driver, for better preservation of the LG. If the Samsung goes dark, I can always swap sims and put the LG back into service, but I am hoping that won't be necessary.

Happy New Year! :) Also, this phone looks very interesting - another take on the multi-display or larger display without the larger form factor style approach. Don't know whether I'd buy this or the LG G8X if I was to go down the LG route... Also, it's a shame that LG pulled out of the smartphone market! More manufacturers = more interesting/varied designs, more technology improvements, and more choice.

The Wing is for the multimedia-diehards (and for tech geeks) For gamers and ones who need PERFORMANCE, either go look at the LG V60 or the LG G8X (Also yeah that Dual Screen can be a factor of choosing between both)

@@MohammedAliPM Nah both are evened out tbh, G8 has high res display and world class cameras but is gimmicky and has mediocre battery life. G8X trades those gimmicks and stuff for a more well rounded phone

Can we all just appreciate the level of engineering that LG used to only have one layer of screws to remove all the MB components? a big win for end user ease of repairability
