What can I say. Such a talented pianist and such a nice man and charming. Wouldn’t hurt a fly, but the critics certainly did at times. They will never be remembered, but Liberace is still here with us. Never to be forgotton by me.

This was truly a performance of the "Odd-Couple". Both are totally individual in their style, and delivery, and both performers had so much to offer during their Time on Stage, and Screen. This performance at The Hollywood Palace did exactly that, it delivered a Ton of Talent, and Entertainment... ~~CR~~

Two of the most original, singular, recognizable personae in Entertainment History, and if this was the only time that they ever did a bit of business together, this is nothing short of miraculous. I'm glad that Lib is featured before the comedy begins: Get past the "presentation" (which is where the money is), and you get to hear an absolutely breathtaking rendition of "Stardust," showing close up that no one, NO ONE, not even Horowitz or Tatum, ever had more pianistic chops than Liberace. (And dig the close-up of his face: This is the no-nonsense virtuoso, creating Art.) Seeing Durante and Liberace play a piano duet, even for laughs, is nothing short of surreal.

Besides being a great showman, the bottom line is that Liberace was not just a Las Vega clown or showman with all his outrageous costumes and grand entrances but he was in fact actually a legitimate and great pianist who was able to play many of the classic piano busters by all the great composers like Chopin. I hated the fact that the movie about him focused so much on his private life which cast him in a very bad light and trivialized his great talent. I am sorry for Mike Douglas for having made himself a party to that type of degrading movie.

Its sad to see he did not show his gay side of him like they do today and have been proud of it. You can tell when he walks that he's trying hard to act manly but near the end he kind of let go on that. Who cares what people are love is love and he should of said it to his crowds it might have made him even more popular.

I think there was plenty of innuendo throughout his career and her certainly didn’t hide it through his attire. People had to be discreet in that era, in fact, many years later some have chosen not to come out.
