Correction at 14:20 : Monolith Soft is owned entirely by Nintendo. In 2007 Namco sold 80% of Monolith's stock to Nintendo, but Nintendo eventually acquired the remaining 16% they had by 2011, meaning Monolith Soft has been fully first-party since then. The 4% that's not owned by Nintendo is stock that's personally split between Tetsuya Takahashi, Hirohide Sugiura, and Yasuyuki Honne as the company co-founders.

The reason france gets this much xeno stuff is because france gets a lot of weeb stuff in general. France is the second consumer of manga in the world just behind japan, and thus we get a lot of exclusive stuff to promote anime/manga/games because japanese companies know that we are a big market. Plus ig whenever they want to organise stuff for europe in general, they do it in France because they know we'll be open to it and other europeans can just come here, although this is mostly speculation on my part.

The hilarious thing about the concert in France is that Xenosaga 1 never got an official french localization. There is a mod for a fan translation but that’s it.

One thing I will say about the Monolithsoft weapon artists not getting credit, there is also the possibility that whoever wrote that comment, did not want to have their name printed. Just saying not everyone is comfortable with their name published. But of course it could just be monolith policy as well.

As a French Xeno fan, I'm very happy with the amount of things we got, though I didn't know that Takahashi went to France to promote Xeno things before. Another thing (xenosaga 3 spoilers) : Imagine my surprise when the city of Rennes-le-Château was in the game and how important it was (it was funny hearing the pronunciation in japanese). I'll need to go there at some point lol

Now if we could get a remaster of Xenosaga at some point that would be nice. You already did it with Baten Kaitos Bandai please do it with Xenosaga as well. Oh and let CyberConnect2 remake the original 4 .hack games like they've been saying they want to for the past half decade now. These two are some of the last few PS2 series from my childhood that need remastering/remaking. Anyway I'm happy these piano arrangements for episode 1 are happening. Honestly I think this is the only soundtrack that that would work with since the other two were more out there and less classical sounding by comparison.

The Xenosaga piano collection reached the max kickstarter goal yesterday and I am so damn happy. This probably means we are getting some sort of Xenosaga rerelease given that Chrono Cross also got a remaster after its piano collection success from Wayô Records. The art book is getting me more excited by the day. I really do hope the secondary artbook helps delve into the game's development and patching up parts of 3's narrative that need help. 2 had a pretty unqiue development cycle so im curious if 3 struggled with similar issues or not.

Everytime someone mentions Xenosaga's music I think "what music?". The games have, sadly, a ton (and I mean it) of cutscenes (which is the biggest part of those games) with no music, and the "dungeon" tracks are ok, I think. Xenosaga Episode II "Opening Theme" is absolutely beautiful, though. As for the games: I really, really hope that, if they intend to bring Xenosaga back from the dead, they do it with either a remake or a reimagining. Those games would not work as remasters. I love Xenoblade with a passion, but I couldn't finish any of the Xenosaga games (although I've played them all and have watched the cutscenes on YT). They target a very different audience.
