This is not your usual stuffy, sterile video walking you through what to expect in a CT scan. I’m a cancer survivor that’s been through plenty of CT scans and will share with you what happens when I get ready for my latest one. I will take you through all the prep work that goes into getting a CT scan, what happens during the scan, and the aftermath. Get the inside scoop on what will happen before you even head in for your appointment!

No I didn’t have a bad reaction to the barium. Though my scan only required one 450 ml drink of a substance that was more like water than a smoothie. Also I hadn’t had my ileostomy reversed at the time so that might explain it.

I've never had a CT scan, but if I had to drink all of that stuff, it would just go straight through me 🤣

I was wondering, I've had several CT scans and I've never had to drink anything they did the dye through my Iv, when you get your scans are they scanning your whole body, I've just had scans of my stomach and pelvis, I've also had colon cancer

I asked the CT scan tech at my cancer center about drinking the barium vs. not, and they said it was all about the preference of the radiologist that would read the scan. I’ve had both abdomen and pelvis scanned, and pelvis to chest scanned.
