I wonder if not dealing with grief and mental trauma is a part of suffering from ADHD. I don't process losing friends and family correctly and many times I've had repercussions because of not mentally working through the hurt. I lost my Granddad many many years on my 16th birthday, besides my single mother he was the closest most respected person I had in my life. I had looked after him in his last few years of his life as best I could going round to his flat to cook and clean when I had spare time. I'm not sure I will ever process the effect that watching person who for all my life was this pillar of strength and authority slowly be taken by cancer. I think it's important to attempt to now process that hurt in a healthy way. Siân, as always your kind, open and honest talks are invaluable :)

💛 I couldn’t agree more. I’m not sure if it is something we are more susceptible to but I can imagine it might be because I have seen that empathy is often a skill we’re blessed with so it makes sense that we feel things more than others. I’ve definitely been told I can’t handle grief recently and I think having counselling and therapy really helps but it might just be a side effect of our adhd so I am dreading the next time I lose someone 🫣 I don’t think it helped that I wasn’t in the best place so happily sank to the bottom of a dark pit and wallowed for a few weeks 🥹 Thank you for your support 💜 always here for you!

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Toby, your health and your Nan being ill. It’s OK to find things difficult at the moment, I think you’re doing amazing considering everything on your plate. With regards with your rabbit soft toy I’d keep it as a soft toy only, until you decide what you want to do with Toby’s ashes. There’s no rush and you will know what to do when the time is right. You may later on want to put them in the toy or keep them separate. 💐💕xxx

Thank you so much for your lovely message. They do say things come in three don’t they. I think you’re right! The longer I have the bear the less I want the ashes in there I just think it was trying to think of the nicest place for him when he first passed but I’m slowly accepting he isn’t here anymore. Thank you again 💕
