Does the pump have a pressure check valve? Can the can be over pressurized with the hand pump and cause damage?

i bought a couple from a prepper shop during lockdown ..just taken one out of the box..the tap doesnt push down ??

I brought a LS jerry can a couple of years ago for emergencies. I put 5cm of tap water in it, primed it to stop the filters drying out then stored it away in a dry cool place. How long will the filter likely to last before replacement? Thanks

I bought the jerry can about a year ago ..never put the water in ..do I have a problem.. never been opened until today
