Jolly it’s not my beat. This beat was sent to me by a subscriber during a live stream for the series I do where I fix subscribers beat mixes. So I’m not sure what you are referring to

Great tutorial. 808 seems low but I probably tend to boost mine too much. Where do you think it should be in relation to a kick? Thanks in advance :)

sonpois I think it’s personal preference! Usually I would go reference my mix , but obviously I’m doing a tutorial so i couldn’t haha! I tend to mix my 808 hot on purpose as well for my own beats, but for clients I like to go off of the vibe they want. Regardless, if you like the sound, keep it!

What do you mean by "head room"? Does mixing every level down not right?

Sebastian Olechno in a short easy form... 0db is the cap before digital distortion happens, so when you have your level peaking let’s say at -3db or -6db, when are leaving headroom below 0db
