I wish I watched your video (or any video) before I assembled mine. I was pretty disappointed with the packaging and labeling as well. Deff added more time to the assembly. Took me about 8 hours total. I had help for about 2 hours only, to put the doors and roof on. Wasn’t terrible to do myself, but the roof wouldn’t have been possible for me alone. I built mine on a wood platform and it’s raised about 8” from ground height. I have a ladder but I’m also 5’ 6”. I’m happy with the quality and the price. For those worried about security: I think this would be difficult to “break into” without making a significant amount of noise or drawing extra attention to yourself. There is ALOT of hardware for this being a “plastic” shed.

Thanks For leaving your experience. Yeah I had a few issues while building it. Right now I moved the shed into the backyard with a wooden platform also. Will share a 3 year later review soon

Lovely video content! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you considered - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin after a lifetime of fighting got amazing success with it.

Have been looking at this shed to buy. I think you did a great job of putting it together. Nice looking shed. Look's sturdy! Was it difficult putting together?

Yes more on the difficult side and was a bit frustrating at times. Hope this video help! Great shed

Hi, thanks for sharing great job doing it by yourself. do you know if it is bug and rodent proof? I am down here in South Florida as well and we have Palmeadow bugs, spiders, all kinds of nasty insects and mice and rats.
@TestofTime3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s really well sealed overall. You might get smaller things coming in but no mice or rodents for sure

The boxes? There were a few boxes and they flowers really heavy and big. I’d rent a trailer or uhaul or have it delivered

Comparing the quality of the Lifetime 8 x 10 storage shed to the quality of the Suncast brand, the Suncast is twice the shed. The Suncast went up in hours vs the Lifetime - almost took a Lifetime. :-)
@cproehrich4 жыл бұрын
Are there instructions for fastening it to the concrete? How is it holding up?
@TestofTime4 жыл бұрын
I’ve had it for about 3 years, will make a follow up video soon. Moved it to the back on a wooden platform, have not anchored it yet. Holding up really well 👍

@@TestofTime Definitely would like to see that video. I just bought this shed and waiting for delivery. Are there any things you wish you knew before putting it together that you know now? Or are there any general notes you have since you've owned it?
@TestofTime4 жыл бұрын
Nope, just follow the instructions carefully, I jumped the gun a few times and had to go back during install. Overall just have a level foundation or your lock bar will be offset. ITs a great shed, enjoy!

What did you end up doing to add hooks to the walls?
@TestofTime4 жыл бұрын
Still nothing, I would like to put up some hooks eventually. No super important for me atm

Suncast has quite a selection of rail mounted storage options at Menards, I bolted the rail plate through the side using a decorative steel plate on the outside to support heavier objects. I have baskets, hose holder, hooks and pegs

I’m not sure if you said during your video, my audio is jacked up, but how much did this cost? I ordered one a couple weeks ago and I think maybe i got scammed!

Around $1,000 with a coupon, but this was 4 years ago not sure on price now

@@TestofTime yeah I got screwed. Lol so for anyone reading this if you find this for $100 and the word “heiwowow” is anywhere on the website, DONT BE DUMB LIKE ME! It’s a scam! When something is too good to be true… 🤦🏻♀️

I got this years ago for around $1,000 at Lowes. Yeah it was tough to put together but worth it!
@jackoeup3 жыл бұрын
I bought it at Lowes, I am amazed it held up over our tough winters. The door alignment keeps skewing because they give you plastic shims that slide around to adjust the door.
@chloesingleton50474 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a fence. Do you think it would be super easy to break in to?
@TestofTime4 жыл бұрын
The front has room for a pad lock the side window locks but not in the best way. You could secure it better but other than that should be good! You could always add one of those cheap $1 alram systems that make a loud noise if someone opens the window.
@chloesingleton50474 жыл бұрын
Test of Time thanks for the reply! Some other (cheaper) shed reviews mentioned the doors were kind of flimsy and easy to bust through, so I wanted to be sure.
@jackoeup3 жыл бұрын
I know you asked a while ago, sorry I missed your question. In my humble opinion, it would only keep out the people who are opportunistic. The doors do have a way to put on a lock, but it sure wouldn't stop anyone from just yanking the doors open.

Do not buy this product if you can find the suncast. I'm a big guy 300lbs trying to seat the corners by hanging on the wall as shown in the instructions. This is a complete pos.

How do you push down the sides walls into the floor?

Just gotta wiggle it in. Mine seemed to go in with no issues from what i remember.

Sorry you might have had a lemon, unless you are doing something wrong.
@Straydogger3 жыл бұрын
I attached the floor to the wooden platform I built to hold it before I put the walls up. Big mistake. The bolts to hold it down pulled the floor down too far to snap the walls in. After I loosened the bolts they went right together.
@jackoeup3 жыл бұрын
@@Straydogger good thinking, I think part of the difficulty was that we were building this when the weather was around 50 degrees, colder at night. It made the plastic very hard. Simply snapping pieces together was a real chore.
