This is one of LiftMasters first electronic limit and force control garage door openers. Programming the limits and force controls are super easy to do! LiftMaster 2500D is a belt driven garage door opener that has since been discontinued.

Sam Squires When they first came out I was amazed. I was like this is the future of garage door openers!! That big Ol battery back-up, lol. I run into them every now and then. This video is a long time coming. Been meaning to capture video footage of this jewel.

Great video! Definitely got a work out walking back and forth😄. Question tho, on the 2500/3500s does the battery backup module actually mount to the top of the opener or just sit up there? The 3800/8500s display them the exact same way, however theres no where to mount them on a 3800/8500.

Fantastic video. Opener is so so quiet. Seems to be mounted a bit to high.

Thanks man! It sure was a quiet opener. Yea it was mounted a bit high for my liking, but ran pretty well. The door was balanced perfectly. So not much effort needed to push and pull the Gdoor.

What's the difference between this and the 2500? I know the 2500 was the first one and had the instant reverse like the old sears v-belt units, and the 2500B was able to take a battery

@@garagedoorgenius I believe craftsman made their version as well which was the 139.53919 I think. If you ever run into one of those, or a liftmaster 3840, would you be able to make a video on it?

That door literally ran up and down with 1 hand super easy, total judgement call. But I hear ya. If the door was rough around the edges or not quite balanced right I would have felt the hangs are necessary to make longer. There are cases you should definitely lower the back. To get that nice push going down and not tear up the top section on the way up.

Hey, man, great video. I think mine is confused though. I have the door all the way up where I like it. I press the program button for 2 seconds, the light starts flashing slowly. I jog the door down with the red button, and then back where I want it with the black button. I go to the wall and press the wall button to set the "up" limit and the door goes down about 12 inches, stops, and then goes all the way back up and the bulbs on the motor unit flash about 10 times. In your video the door returns almost to the floor after you hit the wall button. Mine is not doing this. It does not seem to learn the setting. I need helps!

You may want to realign your safety sensors. 10 flashes from the light bulb is my indicator telling me it's a sensor problem. Has the doors running down it may be moving the vertical tracks a little bit causing it to break its beam.

I managed to download the manual for the 2500D and found the bit about the sensors that says the amber and green indicator lights should remain illiminated when the sensors are properly aligned. The green light is illuminated and when the beam is broken it goes out. I managed to program my remote so I could watch the green light and at no point does it go out. It is illuminated constantly with no flickering as I jog the door up and down. I think that the unit is thinking the door is down, when it is up, as when I press the remote button it tries to close when it is already closed. I am going to take a video and I'll post the KZfaq link to it here as a reply.

@@Max_Chooch Although it's where you like it in the up position, you still need to do that step.

Yes. The door is fully open, I enter program mode, jog the door down a bit, then back to fully open, and then press the wall button (or remote, does the same thing). And the door goes down about 12 inches, stops, opens and lights flash indicating the sensor beam was broken. I have taken video of the green indicator light that detects and goes out when the beam is broken while doing this and it does not flicker or go out.

Adjust the down limit a little harder. Also, the arm from the door to the opener needs to be at least at a 45° angle.
