How to lace shoes with “Lightning Lacing”, so named because the angled sections look a bit like a lightning bolt, plus it's lightning fast to lace. The laces run diagonally on the outside and vertically on the inside.

I heard that this lacing eases pressure on the toes, and possibly specifically on the big toe-if the ‘straight across’ part points at the big toe (I think). I used this lacing after bruising the big toe. Heard also that there are ways to adjust pressure on the different sides of the toes-with this lacing or another one, not sure. I rather wish someone did an overview of possible adjustments. Apparently hiking people are big on this topic, I'll need to look at sources in those communities.

This lacing can indeed help relieve pressure on the big toe. The asymmetry distorts the shoe slightly. Tighten so that the front of the shoe lifts off the top of the toe.

Why did you do that differently on the other shoe? It could have been done in the same manner right?

One shoe has an even number of eyelet pairs, the other has an odd number. If you begin the "odd" shoe the same way as the "even" shoe, you can't tie off at the top because both ends will finish on the same side.
