so glad to hear Pastor Dever comment on immodesty in Church apparel...and this was in 2005. Now, 13 yrs later it is much worse...Married women and mothers wearing shorts along with their daughters to Church services.and blouses that hang off one shoulder seductively.....I am NOT a legalist but I see more & more there is less reverence for Gods house...and everyone sitting in pews drinking cokes or coffee,,,ugh...cant we just do without those things for an hour or 2 on the LORDS DAY and Wed night Bible Study...As I have heard R.C say many times...( Whats wrong with you people?..we have forgotten WHO GOD IS and who we are) slurping coffee while someone is reading Gods word is abomidable...to me anyway...!

Amen. When one ( minister or member of a local church) speaks to this topic... we are often silenced, called legalistic and then run out of church.

I completely agree. Same in my church in Romania. Women dress inmodestly, with short skirts and very high heels. When a brother complained about this to the pastor, the pastor said "Well don't look at them, turn your eyes around if you are tempted" Imagine saying that as a pastor. When the pastor should have gone to that lady and say "you either change your clothes or you never put a foot here" But they only care about tithing. They feed the goats with their preaching, not the sheep. The sheep die of hunger. The goats don't like to hear about taking the cross and dying, so they never preach on that.

So is it accurate to say this conference was just prior to RC Sproul Jr being defrocked for the first time by his Presbyterian denomination?

Yes, it happened just prior to RC Jr's defrocking in Jan 2006 for tax fraud, identity theft, stealing church funds, drunkenness, spiritual abuse (bullying his congregants with threats of excommunication and shunning) and duplicity. Not that getting defrocked changed anything. He just arranged to have himself voted back into the pulpit by his congregation by abandoning Presbyterianism in favor of Congregationalism. RC Sr rewarded his son's actions by giving him a six-figure position at Ligonier. Even though he resigned at Ligonier over a felony drunk driving conviction he's still being paid six-figures as a Ligonier "independent contractor."

Oh my goodness, is this true? I'm shocked. RC the father was an amazing man. Perhaps they've written false news about the son? You never know these days with false information being spread.

@@Arrasel Speaking as a fan of the Sprouls, it is not “fake news.” Junior has led a troubled, difficult life. First of all, can you imagine living in the shadow of the father? Not easy. But then research the other struggles and tragedies he’s had to endure regarding the early deaths of his daughter and wife, etc. Heart wrenching. And Junior could have had better influences theologically (and this is where Senior, as great a speaker and communicator as he was, fell a bit short - Senior’s teaching was not as consistent with the reformed confessions and the broader tradition as we might like to see; and Junior came under the influence of the CREC and Doug Wilson - not good influences to have).

I’m so happy that there was a question on the NLT Bible version. I have no idea why but I cannot stand it at aLL, almost as worse as I can’t stand the NIV Bible version

Christ died for all. The fact that many do not respond to the Gospel does not nullify this. People could say that I was not saved because He did not die for me.

Christ died for all men and women. God is justified in full atonement, not partial. Personally when we were yet sinners Christ died for us. We need to know this in becoming a christian.

God is not “justified.” He does not need to be. It is we, as sinners, who require justification.
