I’m sitting here at 2:12 in the morning here in rural Yorkshire in England, and watching our American brothers and sisters in a situation like this is heartbreaking. God bless everyone involved in helping and saving others.

My heart goes out to you all, lost my home in 93 flood.. we had time to just watch it and the helplessness we felt. All the hard work of sand bagging for a month..And the wildlife floating on anything they could find to get on. They found 3 cows in the church had climbed the stairs.. God Bless you all.. Everything can be replaced... except LIFE...

As a person that lives in this part of oregon it’s scary. Today there’s smoke outside, a bit of an orange sky and the house is starting to smell more and more like smoke.. I hope we make it through this... 😣

This is where I need to be right now... running to the fire and helping my brothers and sisters... Love Oregon to death... the place it all started for me! Became a wildland firefighter in 2012 and fought nunerous fires until 2014 when I moved to the East Coast... became a full time firefighter here at MD, love my career but still miss the wildlands... stay strong OR. Ima get my wildland fire re certification back and hopefully get deployed there to give you guys a hand! God bless you all. Sharp the palaskis and keep the saws running!

half my neighbors stayed behind. A group of people stayed behind/ returned to Estacada when news broke of looters. they're patrolling the streets with guns and trucks. Thank you to those people!! stay safe guys Hey update: if you know someone who has stayed behind, please advise:: after speaking with local fire fighters, the fire fighters have shared that they are more scared of this type of person over the fire!!! Fire fighters have been shot at!!!! this is not good!! Fire fighters need to run to do their job, which the "civilian patrol" (i put that in quote cause its not an official approved thing) deem this suspicious, cause they can't see through the smoke, so they shoot first before asking questions!!! NOT GOOD. The group that i know agreed they would only shoot if they see an active looting taking place, the guns are more for intimidation. Lets keep it that way. We are a peaceful, hard working community, we are kind and respectful, We will be ok if we stick together!!

Use the app Wildfire Info. I use it here in NM where we are in constant wildfire danger. It has a thermal imager so you can see where the heat spots are on the map. Very handy. Be safe.

I'm in Beaverton, and it's so smoky I can hardly see the other end of our apartment complex.

Just got back from my family's cabin in Ca. Mandatory evacuation. Hauled my neighbor's trailer full of dry leaves, helped other neighbor load some things, said an Our Father, and a few Hail Maries, and left the rest to God, and the fire fighters. Great that W star and his buddies have the know how to help others.

I live in Sacramento, basically surrounded by the wild fires , I completely emphasize with your grief and...concerns . Best wishes wrangling Man . God bless our deceased and their families.

I have lived in Hermiston Oregon for 25years and have never seen the smoke so bad, Lord send rain.

I live in Eugene. blue river is leveled. all my go-to places for camping and fishing, all the memories gone. which is nothing compared to the people that lost their homes there. now we're just hoping the wind doesn't start going west and push the fire into us. it's about ten miles out from where i live. the ash in the air is making us choke. thanks for the video. good luck to you all.

This is 60 years of failed forest management coming to fruition.

I put my time in firefighting on helitack, engine and shot crews, my knees paid the price and I'm only 32 (west coast has steep terrain you know). Many of us who do this for money don't realize the health sacrifices we make later down the road. I would consider it somewhat similar to how soldiers experience ptsd after service. Looks like there is some decent defensible space for a fire to slow down, those dry shingles on the house are the biggest problem. That's why fires like in Paradise, CA burned so many homes, many of them were started by small starts caused by debris causing the ladder fuel effect.

This is scary. I used to complain about snow....I won’t do that anymore.

My first job was rebuilding fire trails from glide to diamond lake ,but I see that whole area is on fire .My heart energy goes out to all you . Hope one of those fire trails I rebuilt save a life today 👩‍💼❤️

30+ family members evacuated from molalla and Redland areas. We are within sight of the little Spangler road fire so were evacuated by the sheriff knocking on our door grabbing kids tossing shoes in car and running. Came home yesterday after being gone since Tuesday night. Firmly believe these selfless men and women saved many towns from being burned down to nothing. Thank you all, with all my heart thank you.

On one hand this world needs men like him helping out, and there's no doubt he feels like he has the responsibility to help considering his knowledge and experience, but he better keep himself safe. This clip conveys the reality and terror of those fires so well. I live in Ireland and cannot imagine what it must be like.

I refused the mandatory evacuation when the sheriff search and rescue came at midnight, to stay and help the fight. I was in the Moccasin Fire but by 4am the smoke plumes were far too thick, I had got as low as possible full respirator and wet cloths but it was getting through and had to give in. I searched quickly with the quad for anyone else but I was the last off the ridge. Thankfully the service managed to contain it at the bottom of the ridge. Myself and my property so far have made it and I wish you all out there the very very best, your all in my thoughts.

I didn't even realize I had some type of PTSD from the fires until I watched this. Then we had a house fire a few months later. Ugh.

Watching this video further reinforces a change in approach I will take on the "next fire." We lost our home 7 years ago in the Black Forest Fire, but looking at all these people driving surrounded by flames in this years California fires, and people making a stand at properties with pumps, rakes, shovels, tractors, etc, I wish I could go back and do it again. We were chased out by the police doing rounds forcing everyone to evacuate, but I believe our home would have been defensible, it just needed the manpower on site. If there is a next time, I'll be staying behind to fight the fire with pumps, sprinklers, rakes, shovels, tractor, etc. If the situation gets unsafe I'll drive out at that time. I'm not going to be chased away and forced to surrender to the fire before the fight even begins.
