What a great comeback song,album,and "comeback"tour after an eight year touring break.I didn't think The Stones would survive the mid eighies.Yeah,we got Undercocer abd Dirtrywork but the Steelwheels tour was great! Saw them Sept.10.1989 in East Troy.Wis.(by millwaukee) for the first time.One of the best shows by The Stones I've ever seen!

This album was a great return to Outstanding Hard R&B. This is The Rolling Stones man. Treasure them now, They wont be around forever. Go and see them everyone, They look like 50 miles of bad road, But they are truly rolling stones, and they are in it for the MUSIC!

scarrie729 Interesting, those are exactly the two songs (along with "Miss You" and "Start Me Up") that get WAY more play than the other songs. Hilariously, the only reason "You Can't Always Get What You Want" doesn't get played as much nowadays is because radio stations prefer not to play longer songs. Nowadays a long song is only reserved for special occasions, such as "American Pie", "Free Bird" or other songs. Just... awful.

This is their best album. The Rolling Stones are infamous for having filler on their albums. They typically had one to three singles that were hits and the rest of the album was terrible. Steel Wheels was a solid album.

Saw the Stones in LA during the Steel Wheels tour. The band was great, played all the songs from the Steel Wheels album as well as a wonderful section of past hits. There was also another band performing that evening. Guns & Roses kicked off the concert. This was the second time I'd seen the Stones. First was just after the release of Sticky Fingers.

The last band to record at Sir George Martins legenday AIR Studio in the Caribbean island of Montserrat before Hugo destroyed it ( a large part of the music video was shot there, along with all of The Police videos for the aong on ghost in the machine that was also recorded there exclusing Invisible Sun), what a tune and LP, still sounds as good today as it did back then (Watts snare really cracks hard on vinyl, whoa), legendary band, studio and album. 🤘

So fucking jealous you heard this on conventional radio! Most people who aren't diehard fans haven't heard it since '89 even though Steel Wheels sold millions of albums and this was probably the Stones most profitable tour. It was also by far their best album of the 1980s.

This is such an under-rated Stones song. I put it right up there with some of their classics from 68-72 period. They put out so much crap in the 80's but finally got back on track with Steel Wheels.

November 2014 my life's ambition became reality I got to see the boys in action ha action how the fuck at 70 plus do these guys electrify the house and I mean electafy Mich has got more enery than front men a1/4 of his age, best 700 ive ever spent,and to be honest would've spent a Rio I pray to the rock gods they've got one more in them..........
