Movie Summary:
A tale of a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Don't know if you guys caught this, but the reason Lilo is taking sandwiches to that fish is because it is said he is the God that controls the weather and her parents died in a car accident because of the rain. So she is hoping that if she brings these "offers" to the God represented by that fish, he won't kill anyone else that she loves. That's why feeding the fish was more important than being at her dancing lessons on time, and even though she explains them how important this is, the others don't have the full info to understand why exactly that is. 🥲🥲🥲 Also I just realised that when that shark-alien is bitten by Stitch, he asks another alien "does this look infected to you?" and when Lilo bites Martle, she asks the other girls "does this look infected to you?" :))) Just thought it's a nice foreshadowing of her and Stitch - two kindred spirits - meeting. They were both saddened by the absence of a family, and because of it, they both had rage issues. They also both had obsessions, I saw a psychotherapist's reaction on Lilo and Stitch and he was explaining that Lilo is probably a bit neurodivergent, cause she likes her alone time and she has all these little obsessions and quirks like taking photo of overweight tourists, which she finds beautiful and fascinating, she also has an Elvis obsession as we see her talking a lot about him and listening to his songs and trying to teach Stitch how to behave better using Elvis as an example of exemplary behaviour (it's sad cause I just realised Elvis is like her male/father figure now that her father passed). And Stitch probably is neurodivergent too because he's afraid of water and has an obsession with destroying big cities, he literally faints when he realises the small town is on an island in the middle of the ocean which he can't cross because water scares him, and so there is no big city to destroy🤣 Even so, he builts a miniature city out of books and pretends it's a real city he can destroy and scare the people. I identify with Lilo so much, cause I was so lonely as a kid and I had all these weird hobbies that no one else my age cared about and I wouldn't stop talking about them :)) (much like I do now), and also the rage part, I would explode all over someone who would act with me like Martle acted with Lilo, even if they were bigger than me and would have beat me up.

This is my favorite disney movie of all time. Many don’t know this but it still gets me every time: The reason why Lilo is so pressed on feeding pudge the fish is because he controls the weather. And her parents died in a car crash due to a bad storm. She’s very neurodivergent, so how she expresses her feelings and interprets social cues is very peculiar. This movie has so many levels to it that many don’t understand. Thanks for reacting!

1 of my faves ever by Disney. Favorite trivia to point out. Voice of Lilo is also the little girl in The Ring. 2 big hit movies released 4 months apart that hung on her performance at such opposite ends of the spectrum. The writer director is the voice of Stitch Never noticed til pointed out that the design on the back of Stitch's head is an angel thus fulfilling Lilo's wish. Have decent amount of merch, the 1st major purchase with my 1st paycheck I made in 2005 was a 2 foot tall Stitch plush from the Disney store that still sleeps over my shoulder. My late brother, i have him saved on my phone as Dr. Jumba Jookiba with the contact picture of his shocked face at the start when the charges were being read to him, so when phone rang screen says "Dr Jumba calling" with picture. Gone 3 years now because of Covid but contact details still there. I also used to refer to my best friend from college as Pleakley.

This was originally slated for a Christmas 2001 release, but 9/11 happened and Disney had the creators redo the entire climax. The original chase scene involved Jumba, Pleakley, Stitch, and Nani hijacking a 747 and chasing Gantu's ship through Honolulu, with Jumba nearly colliding into a high-rise... They were able to recycle the character animations and changed the setting to 2 spaceships chasing each other through the mountains on Kauai.

I love this movie growing up. Some of the scenes cracked me up, very emotional and some crazy adventures. This will never get old. Ohana means family and family mean no one gets left behind or forgotten 💗💗💗😢😢😢🤣🤣🤣

i AGREE stitch is such an iconic character. i've seen this movie so many times mainly bc of stitch he is probably my favorite animated character of all time. i have a weird thing where i think it's absolutely precious and warming when nonhuman things show or start showing "human" emotions (i also tear up when things are really cute and come on stitch is ADORABLE) and this movie makes me emotional now bc i had the pleasure of having my own stitch except his name was Nanook and he was a german shepherd. everything i saw in stitch i saw in him and he literally was my best friend when i had none so i relate to lilo a lot in this movie too. unfortunately i lost my nanook 7 months ago but this movie and stitch holds a special place in my heart, he was my stitch.

Always loved Lilo & Stitch. They’re making a live action one. They showed images of Stitch and it doesn’t really look like him. Disney changed this movie once they put it on Disney+. The scene where Nani chases Lilo around the house after Cobra left was changed. In the original she hides in a dryer but on Disney+ she hides behind a pizza box which is funny cause at the end when Stitch does laundry he’s in the same room and the pizza box is now a dryer again.

When Nani asked if Lilo was gone, daaaaamn. That capsule was meant for Stitch. Not only would she be gone, she wouldn't make it to space. That capsule doesn't look like it provides oxygen or insulation.

I've seen this movie probably 10 or a little over 10 times when I was little to now. It's a really good movie. I remember liking Lilo and stitch, but it was never my fav like, I was like it's okay, but I just don't care for it as much as the Disney princess movies. Rewatching it now and a couple times months ago. I thought How did I used to think that it was an okay movie and not really caring for it but still liking it. Rewatching it I realized that I actually love this film. It's so so, so, good. Gotta love Stitch! Defiantly my favorite character in this then Lilo 2nd. I think you two would like Disney's Swiss Family Robison (1960) it's about A Swiss family from Bern-Father, Mother, and their three sons-are relocating to a colony in New Guinea to escape the Napoleonic Wars when their ship is attacked by pirates and flees into a storm. The crew abandons ship leaving the family on board, while the ship grounds on rocks off an uninhabited island. Love y'alls videos! You two do an amazing job!

what breaks me most about the first scene where lilo talks about the fish controlling the weather it seems silly, but when you learn later that it was raining the night their parents died, so really lilo wants to keep the fish happy so he doesn't make it rain again.

I find the scene of Stich wildin out under the pressure of everyone admiring him to be highly representative of what those with talent and status go through when suffocated by paparazzi and adoring fans as they just try to go about their day. I understand, often times people are turned off by the idea of sympathizing with celebrities of famous people. That's a whole other conversation pertinent to the psychology of *Why*

I know this video came out a year ago, but for anyone that wants to know; Lilo in the movie is 6 ; Nani is 18 ; and before their parents passed away, Nani was winning surfing competitions - whether he goal was to be a professional surfboarder or not is left up to the audience I believe, but she left it all behind to try and take care of Lilo.

0:29 same dude like i'll be 22 this year & i did watch lilo & stitch a couple times as a kid & i did see some episodes of the tv show but i didn't watch it enough to really remember everything so earlier this year when i watched it on disney+ it was a first time watch for me as an adult. but now though i'm like obsessed i love lilo & stitch now i've watched all 4 of the films & i'm almost done season 1 of the tv show. & i'm wearing a t-shirt with stitch on it right now

My favorite animated movie ever, even named my dog after lilo Lilo is 6 Nani is 19 The reason Lilo beats up myrtle in the beginning is sad, because she always gave pudge a peanut butter sandwich but she forgot to feed him one day and thats the day it rained and her parents got into the car accident and died so she got mad when myrtle called her crazy for it. Also the adults knew so thats why they gave each other that look. Before their parents died Nani was a professional surfer thats why their were trophies in her room but she has to give it up to raise Lilo. Stitch before he got his name was known as expriment 626 since Jumba didn’t name his experiments and yes, there were 625 experiments before him so stitch actually has 625 brothers and sisters who they call ‘’cousins’’ in the series. In the series they discover who the experiments are and save them from being captured by captain Gantu in each episode and they are given jobs based on their abilities and powers. The experiments are really cool!

I'm the oldest brother with how many siblings but have 2 older sisters and I would watch my nephew and 2 nieces. I know that feeling especially when there not listening. It's hard sometimes but it's also an important lesson to for being adults and show them that their being taken care by family.

i'm one of the youngest of my siblings but i have a lot of younger nieces and nephews i'll say it wasn't like this until like the last 4, they were quite the handful and it was somewhat like this i've definitely had to chase down kids bc they're running from getting their nose wiped, a bath other things like that and now they are around lilo's age so i do get the sassy talk back sometimes too literally just got it like 10 mins ago😅😂

there were two movies after this before the show and then a movie that served as the finale, if you continue with Lilo and Stitch the next thing is Stitch! The Movie (2003) then the series (2003-2006), during that time is when Lilo and Stitch 2 (2005) came out but takes place before Stitch the movie so can be watched before it, then after the show is Leroy and Stitch (2006) to end the series.

You'd be shocked at what you can pick up from movies and media in general just from adsorbing it from your surroundings. Trailers, Teasers, Reviews, Still pictures, physical media of any kind. (Dolls, Musics, etc) all can just starting gathering up in your mind. Giving you the feeling like you've seen things you haven't. Edit: Also Stitch vs Invader ZIM! I off hand just give it to stitch, But I think there might be a case for just how...persistence Zim can be. It really is who Zim kills first. Stitch or himself.
