I love the idea that this is a grandparents' home and they are having their grandkids stay for Christmas while the parents take a nice vacation, maybe. This really makes me want to decorate a mostly-white home with minimal accents of red and green, because whenever you leaned that direction I was like Yes, yes! It just looks so fresh and wintery. The wood tones do warm it up a nice amount, though.

I'm seeing a number of modern Christmas decor. Maybe you should do a modern home decorated for the holidays!

This build totally reminds me of my childhood house and the way my parents decorate for Christmas. The red brick, the white wooden accents, the pretty lights, the bushes, the extra tree outdoors (my mom does 1 tall tree indoors, 1 tall tree outdoors, 2 smaller trees on the window seats, and a faux tree in the dining room), the nutcrackers...No snow though, because I live Louisiana lol.

Usually in my household we don't start decorating for christmas for a couple more weeks and that is because my dad's birthday is on the 11th and his entire life until he met my mom everybody was always forgetting his birthday in favor of christmas (doesn't help that he's the youngest among his siblings and about the tenth Nov-Dec birthday in a row in his family) so we make a point to not celebrate christmas until after we have celebrated Dad's birthday!

I love this, and I know people growing up who had their houses like this. It was fun to go visit, they always threw great parties!

Nutcrackers do have a purpose other than being a display item irl, they crack nuts like the name entails. There's usually a lever on their back that opens the mouth and that's where you put the nut to crack it

I looooooove the super Christmas look. Our living and dining room is all decked out with lit garland around the tops of the rooms like you did in the upstairs bedroom and we have a ton of decorations and a tree. We go all our for Halloween and Christmas.

There's no such thing as too many xmas trees, or at least in my family anyway. My great-aunt puts up trees in every room of her (pretty large) house. Even the bathrooms and first floor closets. For obvious reasons, she hosts the family xmas gathering every year lmao
