Replace the window regulator assembly. The video is right here.

Put everything back together and the window track only goes down about 4 inches. With or without the glass on it

If I can hear something moving up and down but the window doesn't move do I still need a new regulator or just need to figure out how to set window on track?

I put the everthing back together. When the window goes up it stops and comes down about 4 inches. If I put it up slowly then it goes all the way up. Did you have that problem?

Loosen the glass clips. Put the window up again and then tighten the clips. Might just be misaligned. Also, lightly spray some WD-40 on the 2 vertical channels the glass travels in.

Excellent, clear video !! The faster speed was helpful ! Does it help to take off the metal plate for visibility, (cannot see behind the plate how to put in the regulator) or is it pretty easy to figure out ? Thanks !

I wouldn't take off the entire plate. This should not be a problem.

What size are the torx on the speaker? And also, 5 or 6 point? I can open it and find out but would be cool to know before I sit down and get started.

Take off the plate really makes the job easier.

Not with you on that. Removing the plate is not worth the extra work. Everything lines up just fine.

You do have to take the plate off if you are replacing the entire assembly.

@@pctshooter 27 years, 130 Lincoln LS windows. Not once have I taken out the entire plate. Just too much work and no need.

@@PowerUpAuto I bought the entire assembly with the motor attached. My cabling had become tangled in the mechanism so, I had to take off the plate to clear it. It happened with the passenger side too. However, in that case, the window shattered when I was trying to lift it out.

Make sure you plug in the socket in the entry module or the interior lights will stay on.

Come on down to Florida. I'll take a look. OR, do a search for Power Window Repair in whatever city you are in. If you can't get the poanel off you may need to ay someone to do this for you.

We are in tampabay/Sarasota and we come to you. Should be $300 plus tax to change the regulator.
