Hey JCM, awesome video, it is one of the best informative MKS videos ever. I love the call out on the sockets, and the electrical connectors, and the trim clips. Not everyone takes the time to cover these important details. Just feel blessed that you don't have a 2014 MKS with the rear sunshade which is directly over the speaker. You have to loosen the shade to remove the speaker. While I had the trim removed I cleaned up the "C" pillar grounds, the driver's side had a cold solder joint, which arbitrarily gave me a BLIS warning. Thank You for caring!

Very informative video! One thing to note is that you might also have a problem with one of the sensors. You can check this by putting the car in revers, putting the e-brake on or having somebody hold down the brake. Then you go to the back and listen to each sensor. If you hear a rapid, electronic clicking, then it is working. If you do not hear that, there is a sensor problem. Also, if you are just wanting to clear the code and not necessarily worried about the speaker working, just use the buttons to the left of the steering wheel, right under the light control. You should be able to use either setup>reset or input>reset to make the sensor light go away. Overall a very good video. I fixed mine with the buttons, but I will likely replace the speaker as well. Note: I have a 2010 Ford Fusion, not a Lincoln mkS. Much of it seems to be similar, I am not sure if every single thing that I said carries over or not.

Yes. I am aware of that method but the scan tool that I showed can actually show which sensor is faulty without putting your eat to it. Luckily, the scan tool showed me it was just the speaker for this issue. All was well with the four sensors after this fix.

Hey Jay Cee, Funny story. I have a 2010 Lincoln MKS....not a 2009. The part # checked out from the supplier as also working with the 2010 so I tore everything out and lo and behold....did NOT find the speaker where it was supposed to be. I took out the partial shelf entirely thinking it was hidden in there somewhere. It was NOT! Just my luck..... anyway I put everything back together and gave up for today. Any idea where that little speaker is located in the 2010 model? Thanks! Tom

Hey Tom, I'm sorry to hear you went through all of that work for it not to turn up. When the rear speaker used to sound, in what direction do you remember it coming from? I went ahead and looked it up for you. Per the 2010 MKS Workshop Manual SECTION 413-13A: Parking Aid. Procedure revision date: 07/06/2009 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION: "Rear The rear parking aid system consists of the following: Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper) Parking Aid Module (PAM) (located under the left side parcel shelf) Rear parking aid speaker (located under the left side parcel shelf)." "Front and Rear The front and rear parking aid system consists of the following: Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the front bumper) Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper) PAM (located under the left side parcel shelf) Front parking aid speaker (located on the hush panel assembly below the glove box) Rear parking aid speaker (located under the left side parcel shelf) Parking aid disable feature (integral to the IPC message center) Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey™ is in use." I went ahead and looked at the diagram specifically for the 2010 model and it shows the rear parking aid speaker is in the same exact place as the 2009 model: "Removal and Installation Remove the parcel shelf trim panel. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation. Disconnect the parking aid speaker electrical connector. Remove the push pins and parking aid speaker. To install, reverse the removal procedure."

I just got a 2014 mks for my first car. Do you have any ideas what I can look for to find what the issue is with my front two speakers (no sound) and the usb ports/sd card reader don't have power/read?

Front parking aid speaker (located on the hush panel assembly below the glove compartment). Altavoz de asistencia de estacionamiento delantero (ubicado en el conjunto del panel de silencio debajo de la guantera). Removal and Installation: 1. Remove the 3 screws from the hush panel assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector. 2. Remove the 2 front parking aid speaker rivet push pins and speaker. 3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
