Ooooo this episode hit home. I was in the same boat on my itb swap setup. Turned out my inputs were all good but my setup on the link software side was off by a little bit (but on all things lmao). Got me stuck for like 4 months til I had Lamar just sort it all out for me on his dyno in like 20 mins lol.

Happy belated 86 day! Glad you&friends were able to make it all come together in time! I am definitely intimidated to make the jump to a stand-alone. Hope your cooling issue gets resolved, timing came to mind

I am grateful I was able to make the jump to standlaone due to support from our local community: Badboy Marc, Bermuda Wire, BGRS Grant, and many more. Going back to the oem water pump pulley VS the under driver T3 pulley should hopefully resolve it, but yes we have not played with ignition timing yet.

@@CMAutohaus to be honest i would like to see all bit i was looking for like the tools you use everyday(most used) to work on ae86 maybe you got like a long wrench especific sizei dont have and need to buy kind of thing

Absolutely awesome!! Do you know how well a new 86 runs with ITBs? What kind of HP increase?

ITBs are a very expensive way make your car sound cool lol. I'd say they are the last step to optimize engine work and cams. But by themsleves, dont expect much of a power increase.

My 86 is my first car I’ve ever had with an ECU. I wanna run itbs. It figuring out how to order ut from link and what is what is interesting

Stoked to see this come together. Curious about that coolant temp issue you’re having. I’ve run a t3 underdrive water pump pulley on all of my 4A/7A builds without issue. My current engine is 13.3:1 static CR with Kelford 194D cams and street driving it sits comfortably at 190deg consistently. Hopefully there isn’t something underlying causing your coolant temp issue? Looking forward to next update. -Josh

Hey Josh. Curious you have not had issues with the T3 pulley. Only other cooling system mods I did were the SQ rear head outlet and blocking off the IACV ports on the metal coolant line under the intake. Someone also commented timing could also be an issue, as we have not touched timing on the standaone yet.

Yep I have SQ rear water outlet and IACV blocked as well. The current engine I’m referring to is a 20v 7a, though I assume that wouldn’t matter. May even expect higher coolant temps with my set up. I’m also using factory thermostat. Timing would make sense if it’s a bit spicy haha. I’m sure you’ll get it sorted and rippin’!

if you have link ecu why not use link can lambda ? makes life alot easyer to tune

I bought the wrong model AF gauge so we could not sync it to the LINK. I bought an OBDII unit instead of one meant for standalone

Get rid of that idle control valve. I have two 4ges with throttles without idle control valves. Just let it warm up. But if it's your daily, then yes.
