Not really this one. For the most part Meteora, followed by Hybrid Theory and Living Things. One More Light is merely a honorable mention, while the other albums were oriented towards politics and general issues of the world.

@@Chaotic_evil_duckRight, but you've effectively proven your sheer ignorance in not understanding how Linkin park worked collectively. Many songs were written based off conversations that Mike had with Chester about different situations, perspectives in life. They would feed off each other. Your comment is beyond moronic showing that you have a one sided mindset and personality. Good day.

I have struggled with a crippling depression for the majority of my life, I have wanted to die, wanted the excruciating pain of my own self hatred to end, and when I started listening to linkin park I felt a kinship with the lyrics and could hear the pain in chester's voice, and it helped me, by forcing me to realize I wasn't alone in the way I was feeling. I feel one of the most unintelligent quotes people will use to try and help someone suffering is "death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" but the truth is, to many people suffering from real suicidal depression, the problem is persistent and like an addiction it never really goes away, we only find a way to coup with it. I am sorry Chester felt so alone and cut off from the world that the pain became too much, I wish I would have had the chance to meet him and tell him that his personal hell helped me feel less alone in mine, this man shared his soul with us and helped strengthen ours, I hope he is finally at peace.

+Dedilus Grim - I have manic depression so I utterly empathise with what you have written. I've been so very close myself but somehow came out of it, sometimes it was just a switch in the old brain chemistry, other times it was a literal fight for my life every single day. I won't condescend to say 'keep fighting the good fight' and other shit like that, but I will say that I hope you continue to find a reason to live, and take care of yourself. Self care is SO important. And what you eat is also really important. Since I went vegan, I have eaten so much more healthily and my mental health has improved. I will never not be a manic depressive, but the mood swings are less violent and less frequent. Also a good sleep regime. I try and go to bed at around the same time every night, and always set an alarm for the morning because when I'm depressed it's so easy to just not leave my bed and hide under the duvet, but even just getting out of bed can be a small victory in itself. But I'm sure you know all this. So take care of yourself.

Dedilus Grim False. I wanted to kill myself at one point. It does go away. I’m happier than ever before now that I found my purpose. Now I am too scared to die. Try finding your purpose in life.
@dedilusgrim
@dedilusgrim 7 жыл бұрын
Prankster Lock I have found a purpose to live for, and that is helping others who feel the way I and many others such as yourself have, I believe I worded what I meant the wrong way, what I meant by that statement was that people who suffer from suicidal depression are less likely to ever forget that feeling, much like a drug addict is likely to never forget they're reasons they felt the need to get high. What I mean is at least from my perspective, people like us will always have a harder time couping with loss of self esteem and moral than the more mainstream population, not that we can not heal and become healthier in both body and mind. I am much better now than when I was 18, at fueling my willingness to move forward into tomorrow, but on days that I am having even the slightest reminder of that pain it takes me longer to adjust and compensate, that is all. Thank you for your time.

I lost a friend in august of 2017, and before he passed he always played this song every where we went, at first i was like “okay it’s a nice song” but on the day he died i listened to this song and realized he was giving me hints of his depression, he was literally telling me that nobody could help him, that no one listens and i am still stuck in a constant loop of guilt knowing i could’ve said something to someone or talked to him. Please listen to your friends and look for any signs that they are fighting something within, give them a call, a text, a hug, tell them they’re enough, it might save them.

I absolutely agree. As someone with manic depression, I am very familiar with these feelings. I am not a Linkin Park 'fan', a friend told me he had killed himself and I remembered a few songs I had heard and how the lyrics had resonated with me. And now I'm listening to the new stuff, and yes, it's absolutely obvious. But then so many of the older song lyrics are incredibly obvious (I really don't know a lot of their stuff). Any death by suicide is devastating for friends and family, and people say that suicide is a cop out, but it is utterly terrifying to be on that brink, trust me. It seems as though Chris Cornell's suicide might have been a catalyst to push him over the edge. Very sad.

His last interview said that when he is alone is the worst cuz it's just him. When he can't be a father or a husband or a bandmate he is at his worst. So his wife and kids were gone and he just was living with his head and it hurt him. A lot of people have been saying it was because his drug and alcohol addiction and that did help a little but he only had half a bottle of alcohol gone. For an alcoholic that's not a lot. He was just so alone and couldn't take his own thoughts. I can't stop crying. I loved him so much Rest In Peace Chester we loved you so much and I still do ❤😭

It's been so long since Chester died. Listening to his last albums, I knew something was wrong. I think the band knew that Chester wanted to leave this world. He suffered from depression, which is a terrible disease. Many people suffer from it, and those closest to them don't realize it. You can be smiling and appear Happy but depression hides it. Let's not be indifferent to anyone who needs help. I am writing this having tears in my eyes longing for the Voice of Chester, who knows best what it is like when everyone supports him and yet he is alone with his demons. Don't give up if you have a problem. Seek help, keep living because, life is only one and you have someone to live for. Take care brothers and sisters

i mean, i never thought a lot of it until today... Linkin's music has always been dark and Chester was always a troubled fellow. but well, listening to the songs off this album again, it's kinda different... especially this song. It's not full of fight and despair, but more resignation, resolve to end the pain and i guess in a roundabout way, a goodbye that has a feeling of, "Don't cry for me when I'm gone, i will be at peace".

I will never forget the fact that I was at the very last gig of Linkin Park on July 6th, 2017, at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham UK with my best friend.. it is so intense, special, beautiful but so very painful knowing we were at their last ever concert before Chester killed himself.. I was just 10 years old when I got my very first CD, Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory.. Linkin Park truly saved my life, but I feel guilty listening to them now because each song feels like a cry for help! I always end up sitting with goosebumps on my arms and tears running down my face when I listen to them! You will never ever be forgotten. RIP Chester Bennington.

@@shungite4720 if you look at the credits, Chester didn't write this song. The writers are Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Jon Green. Also, I can totally see how people would not see this as a warning. "I'm holding up a light, I'm chasing out the darkness inside" and "only I can save me" both make it seem as if they're saying "life is hard, we know it, but we're going to fight and get back up"... and that probably WAS their intention, to make an encouraging song for those struggling.

No, believe me. There is better lyrical work. You need to find the underground music industry, and indie music. Check out Death Cab For Cutie for a 101. aFaceInside I would like to make 2 points here. Just because you are a successful musician doesn't guarantee that you should have lots of money. Secondly, money is not everything in life mine. Just because you have lots of money doesn't mean that you'll be happy. Hey man how are you doing? I'm here. Here is some advice from someone battling depression for 18 years: 1. Go see a doctor. Get out of bed ! Bed only makes things worse believe me. 2. Depression often comes with 2 debilitating symptoms: psycho-motor retardation and anhedonia. 3. Psychomotor retardation is when you can't think clearly and everything seems hard to do: take a shower, do small chores and so on. So first you need to get rid of that, you need a stimulant to get you back at a "normal" level of energy, i drink coffee, it works. 4. Now that you got your energy back, and listen this is very important: STOP THINKING, STOP RUMINATING, START DOING AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, SWITCH OFF YOUR BRAIN AND JUST DO DO AND KEEP DOING. Do the chores around the house at your own pace, take a shower, take care of yourself, do your nails if you are a woman do something pretty. Go for a 2 hour walk per day if you can. You'll feel better about yourself and you'll get things done. Congratulate yourself ! 5. Anhedonia is when things you loved to do yesterday don't give you the pleasure dose they used to anymore, you simply CAN'T experience pleasure. The only thing i found to get rid of this is meditation. Nothing mystical, 2 times twenty minutes per day, MAKE THE TIME. Just inhale by the nose slowly and exhale with your mouth slowly, don't let your mind wander, concentrate on your breathing. If you don't want to do something be it a chore or something you liked, ALWAYS SAY "LET'S TRY 5 MINUTES THEN WE'LL SEE." ALWAYS ! You're free. you can stop at any time. Stay strong, nothing lasts forever, you'll get through this :). After battling depression for 17 years here's what i learned by myself and my doctor to cope with it and it works. 1. Get help, go to a psychiatrist and take the pills, it may take a long time to find the ones that work best but don't let go. If you're feeling better DON'T stop the pills because you're feeling better because of them! 2. Understand that you need to help yourself because if you're sick and not crazy, you can't help your family or children or function properly if you're not well. I not egoism, it's rational thinking. 3. For us people with depression life is made of small victories as everything is hard so when you struggle to get out of bed and finally can do it, congratulate yourself, getting out of bed is the hardest thing to do, if you manage to take a shower then congratulate yourself, if you manage to wash the dishes congratulate yourself. 4. If you don't feel like doing something it's ok there will come a time when you will able to do it. 5. Go outside for a walk every day or every other day, breathe the fresh, air smell the nature even if it's only for 20 minutes and congratulate yourself, exercise if you can find the energy in yourself and congratulate yourself "YES I'VE DONE IT !" 6. Go to a support group there will be people that understand you and you never know you may meet some interesting people, but beware of people that may drag you down. 7. Be prepared that your family or society don't understand you and may call you just lazy, those are uninformed people and you need to pay them no mind, stay strong, know that the only people who fully understand you are your doctor and other people with depression. 8. Practice breathing exercises, it calms your mind, there are tons of info on youtube on that. 9. Get rid of toxic people around you and get rid of the creepy stuff: books tv shows dvd's Bluray discs videogames and so on, replace them with positive media and people. 10. Watch funny or cute videos on youtube it will boost your morale. 11. If you face a big task like cleaning your house try to see it like a bunch of minor tasks like clean one room a day or every other day and congratulate yourself. Cut every big task in several minor tasks and do them one at a time. 12. Eat healthy and go to sleep at normal hours like 10pm if you need a break during the day to reset yourself then do it and when you get up congratulate yourself because you just did the hardest thing, getting out of bed. 13. Don't set hard to reach goals only to be depressed if you fail. Set smaller goals like i described in this post and you'll be happy when you reach them. It will give you a sense of accomplishment and progress. 14. Start doing something creative: anything, doesn't matter if can't draw, draw something anyway! It will give you a means of expression and a hobby. 15. If you're feeling suicidal immediately call the suicide hotline and let it all out, cry if you need it, its ok ITS OK :) I hope it will help you. Take care :)

I don't know any other singer who can move listeners the way chester still does. He sings soft and gives you goosebumps, and can scream and you feel the emotion he sings with. Not many people sing with emotion anymore

Try listening to Crywank. PLEASE DON'T BE SHUT OFF BY THEM BECAUSE THE NAME. Interviews with the singer say that he named it that as an analogue on "Tearjerk". That man makes Chester seem uplifting. Proof? I can't hardly relate or feel Chester's pain, but Crywank's "Tomorrow Is Nearly Yesterday & Everyday Is Stupid" beats this in emotional power, I have to say. They're so strong with emotional feeling in their music, I was left shaking and the song, "Memento Mori" gave me a panic attack because it was so relatable. This sounds too happy to be a sad song, in my opinion. If you write sad, ya gotta have a sad sound. That's my rule, but also opinion. No hate on Linkin Park, but this sounds too cutesy for my taste.

you are not worth to hate on, i just feel bad that you can not understand that ppl despite fighting for years, have no other choice then making the hardest decision ever... taking your own life and leaving your kids behind, because the monster in your head is winning the fight. you might never understand this, but living after someone who died is much easier then seeing someone slowly die and be in pain all the time... it is not something you call giving up, this is not a cowards way out... you call him weak... but you will never be as strong as ever was on his weakest point in his life... the struggle to survive with yourself every day, to fight your own monsters every day... nobody who will ever really understand you every day... having family friends, everything you need... but still feeling alone every god damn day... tell me... how many times did you feel really alone? how many times did you lose yourself? how many times did you think that even your kids, who love you the most are better of without you? huh... how many god damn times did you ever consider that your own life is taking those around you down with you? don't you ever speak of ppl being weak when they commit suicide after fighting a invisible battle for years. the only weak on this planet are those who can not understand how hard ppl fight every day to just live life.... to live with themselfs, with their own minds and demons that hunt them every day, with thoughts that never end and never fail to take you down no matter what. you would go insane after 1 day.... they stay 'sane' for years... THAT is how STRONG they are. now please... continu your 'good' life and think about how weak YOU are... and show some more respect for those fighting a unseen battle every day, and show some god damn respect for the hero's who died after losing a huge battle they have fought alone for years.
