Lion engage the enemy as soon as they land if possible at this point neither have advantage in siege if you hit them within a time of the landing they get a huge advantage -

I definitely see what you mean about wanting a way to get your allies to follow you. It’s so frustrating when you need the numbers to take a capital and win the war but they want to siege some small Barony that offers minimal percentage to your war score.

The most annoying thing is when the A.I. do the defensive advantage crawl(they always do this when It's sort of even), but you go in seeing your commander have the strategic advantage and thus don't care about enemy defensive advantages. You lose the fight with less then a 100 men standing for the enemy and then you see that the ally have defensive crawled around the whole enemy territory and started a siege somewhere. Then the enemy just runs up to them and slaughter them... xD Or even worse, your liege(while you are a vassal) just let the enemy capture all of your territory while he runs around like a headless chicken. xD Even when you have offered yourself to help him in his stupid war... captured territory means no troop bonuses or restored levies. /lol

So I decided to play as Iceland in 867. It is 969 now (nice) and England formed by a norse ruler...who adopted the 'Clan' style instead of Feudal. So now it is SULTANATE OF ENGLAND

Confederate partition will create equivalent titles of your highest title using your realm’s land if possible, so if you hold de jure of 2 kingdoms, even if you don’t create the second title, on death of your ruler the game automatically does it and gives everything de jure to the heir Partition doesn’t do that

This. The difference is in Partition your 1 Kingdom will stay 1 Kingdom, even if a de jure Kingdom could be formed. In Confederate Partition, all de jure titles of the highest rank will be created and handed out until you run out of heirs to give them to. You still have the cannibalization of your realm issue. So you're still better off handing titles early.

Yeah im playing in india right now and the difference between the first two partition laws is that no new titles are created. This helps a lot because the high partition law has the potential to even create new kingdom titles and an ambitious duke can easily exploit that. Other than that i had at one succesion two huge succession wars until i got to stabilize my realm.

I hope they'll expand the map all the way to Japan. Would be so cool to play as one of the many japanese clans. Maybe even have some unique mechanics tied to the Shogunate.

I also did this game and lost about 5 times. The main difficulty is that the Vikings are really OP and they wont stop invading (My one leader fought 20 defensive wars in his life and 0 offensive). In one of the games the entire of Britain was controlled by Scandinavia. Eventually succeed as the Vikings lose their power once you get into the next technology period. That and using every alliance going.

India is playable in ck2. Its under Rajas of India DLC. Though at first china was not playable later JAde empire dlc added... last dlc in ck2 is holy fury.

Easily the best CK game! I have ck2 of course since it's free. This looks 100 times better and better quality of life aspects as well.

The succession works so that if you hold 2 kingdom titles, one will go to one son, one will go to the other, and they will receive the dejure lands of those, with any outside de jure falling to the hereditary vassal heir. If you rule over England and Scotland, say, but destroy the Scottish Crown, there'll be a higher chance for rebellion off Scottish counties, but all dukes will serve the heir that receives the kingdom of England as it was all under its control upon the death of the King before.

I know I am very late to the party but how do I know if my laptop can run this game. I have never really been a PC guy but this game has me so hooked. I have watched all of your streams and desperately want to play it myself. Can I run this on an Inspiron 7000 series I bought back in 2017/18?

@@lionheartx10 I was thinking about the noob island, but yesterday after finishing the tutotial I decided to embrace my ancestor roots and start as one of the Bulgarian dukes.... Goog starting stats, childhood training in stewardship.... every single concil member hates me... also he is gay so need some work on succession question (fortunately he is only 22, so I have some time)... very onteresting start, enjoying it...

biggest complaint is that it is too easy to get a normal marriage with countess/duchess/queen, especially for AI I feel... Everytime I get countess or duchess in my kingdom, she marries to a count or duke and they usually have only 1 son and he inherits everything and I hate border gore in my kingdom :D And as much as I know there is no viceroys atm, I would like that mechanic as soon as possible... but it is not that I can't play the game coz of that

Legitimate question about the game: Can you only expand from county to county? I enjoyed in Imperator where once you got to war you could take a bunch of land, does this system make the pacing really slow or do you eventually get to expand quicker?

You can expand by claiming countues duchies or kingdoms and there is multiple ways to do it like if youre the king of england any land that falls under that title that isnt controlled by england you can just declare war on them

You can take over multiple counties at a time depending on what claims you go to war for,

Depends on what claims you have. If you fabricated a claim for a county and your bishops so good he found out you can make a claim on the entire petty kindgom you can decide to go after that, but fair warning it costs more gold and will be more unstable after you win because youre going to have a bunch of pissed off vassals instead of just the one you wouldve gotten. And if that petty kindgom is also in the middle of a war while thats happening you basically inherit that. Sincerely, a former petty king of cornwall who decided to steal the petty kindgom of wessex when the current was fighting three different raiders and two different jarls.

It is called *grand* strategy for a reason. But really, the tutorial is very useful and the learning curve is not at all big. Far more complex than e.g. Total War if your goal is to conquer the world but it is also a RPG where you can just chill in your keep while you learn the ropes.

If you play tutorial ureland it's actually very easy to get the grips of things. If your looking for a simplified strategy game, maybe civilisation VI?

That’s very disappointing then did they say why? Can’t see why having a useful thing like that available at a glance would be detrimental unless they really want you to have to dive into all the characters more hit honestly the character finder is a struggle without it at a glance. You can spend ages finding someone that matches your search results only to then discover they’d never join your court anyway.

@@lionheartx10 Basically so you don't get a really good court at the beginning of the game. They called it unrealistic for courtiers to join your court so easily as well, so they made it less likely anyone besides guest would join your court. They basically didn't like the min-maxing of courts.

Nah, someone attacked their home territories so they decided to go deal with that. Makes sense, but the game would benefit from a "follow me" button.

@@Pawn2e4 AI is also not very good. I have had two different playthroughs ruined because an ally, who wasn't in war or being raided by anyone, decided to just wander my lands instead of attacking my enemy.

@@joshuarich6091 It could use some work. I was doing a crusade and the 12,000 man army of the pope decided not to join in my battle against the 20,000 Egyptian stack in the next tile. Again though, I think a "follow me" button would compensate for allies being dumb. The enemy AI seems pretty good

@@Pawn2e4 moving via ship needs something else as well. Everytime I declare war on a nation, they jump out to sea and go up to my land. So i come back to fight them, and they just jump back in their boat and sail back to their land. I go down to fight them, and they jump back in their boat and sail to my land again.

@@joshuarich6091 Yeah I think it should take longer to embark, just so it gives you more of a chance to catch their army before they do. As the attacker though you usually want to start sieging down their holds if they do that. If you have the bigger force you can spread out and siege more than they can.

Ngl, I'd have married that intelligent steward to Yseult, the court physician and cross my fingers for an Intelligent + Hale offspring and then try to marry them into my House. No waiting for marriage due to an age difference, and potentially two good congenital traits that way.

Ngl, CK3 looks kinda nice towards the player from what I've seen so far, that feels really annoying for a CK game. I miss the older paradox games like CK2 and Victoria that could really kick you in bollocks if you mucked up badly.

Nice? Far from it. Expand too fast in the early starts and your nation explodes. Even if you expand slowly, you WILL lose land to your children. Case in point, the duke of wessex on this very video [Yeah, AI explodes too. Everyone does.]. So if it passes s being too nice, it means you haven't picked the right start or haven't got far enough.

@@Pawn2e4 feels like there are less random events that can give you terrible traits. Also Shane to see that plagues can't come and ruin your courts and give you traits like Gluttony.

@@joshc1981 Well, plagues like the black death were a dlc for CK2. There's a good chance CK3 will get something similar. That said, I have had my character get the "great pox" which quickly spread to my wife and children... Without a good physician this almost led to everyone in my family dying

@@Pawn2e4 that's good to see there are at at least elements of it. I'm still annoyed to see that it's not a proper blue blooded evil Paradox game like Victoria 2 that drowns puppies and smothers children in their sleep. You have given me hope that the DLC will flesh the game out more.
