Shes not even strict. This is what instructors, who take their craft seriously and want their students to succeed do. The media nitpick at what idols do every second of the day so what she is doing is nothing and it comes from a place of love.

That’s why she’s the main dancer

It's understandable that Lisa is strict because she had a hard training when she was still a trainee in YG. YG artists are the most scary mentors especially Hoony, GD, B.I and now Lisa. Just like what Jinu said, the training in YG is like a survival show without a camera. So, no wonder why they are so scary because they wanted to apply it to the trainees to become better.

This is YG training. They are perfectionists. Starting from YG himself to everyone. Like GD said " if it is just about putting out music, then can do that every week if they want to. But, in YG it is about the perfect music at the perfect time. Everything must be perfect." That is the YG way and that is why their artists comebacks take the longest. As an old school YG stan, that is the first thing you will learn, is to be patient because once they have a comeback it will blow your mind.

exactly. it would be a completely different story if she was like "are you dumb? why r you not doing this correctly" and only insulted them instead of helping them improve.. but thats not what she did. at all. she gave GOOD constructive criticism and helped the trainees fix their parts. as someone who does dance, i went to some studios where the some of the instructors were too scared to sound "rude" so they didnt nitpick or point out anyone's mistakes. and honestly u cant grow as a dancer or as an artist without that feedback. now, my instructors will do what lisa is doing, and it works. idk man i just hope people get their heads out of the asses and look at it from a dancers perspective.

I don't understand why it shocks so many people that Lisa is strict in practically 4 years of career she never made any missteps. She has always been perfect in all areas. Lisa has always been the most smiling and it's not because she's necessarily happy it's just professionalism. So it doesn't surprise me that she is a perfectionist and she must surely be very hard with herself just to see her journey since she is young she has always given herself thoroughly. She always pushes her limits to be the best. A truly admirable journey, the first on 4000 in auditions in Thailand after she arrives in a foreign country where she is trained by the best teachers in one of the strictest agencies, knowing that in addition she did not know how to speak Korean at all she had to adapt to learn as quickly as possible and despite everything as Jennie said in an interview that when she was trained "Lisa always got an A for everything", it simply means that Lisa was always at the top of their monthly evaluations, whether it was dancing, rapping , compose or sing. She is truly incredible, she is not human.

That was at my last job in the academy. Every screw up sent us to do a punishment. The worse one is when they make us run in the blazing heat with all our gear on in boots for a mile, then straight back into practice and scenarios. I’d have cotton mouth no matter how much water I’d drink. I was constantly angry at my members cause I was already a returnee and had been through punishments before from my last group only to do it all over again. I left that place with a smile and no regrets

I feel like people forget that just because she’s an idol, she’s been dancing for a long time and is completely qualified to be a dance mentor. That’s why she’s on the show doing what she’s doing. I’m actually not seeing anything really harsh. She’s teaching them how to translate what you see to what your body is doing. She’s showing them dedication, how to push themselves, to keep going, and how to feel the music. If you’re not feeling it, it’s not going to look good. In the end, she’s going to have helped their confidence tremendously.

I don´t think that is entirely correct. I believe that the way you teach should vary according to the students you have. sometimes being "tough" as a coach can actually crush your students' personalities and self-esteem. A bad face or a rough tone definitely has an influence that is not always positive
@hushhushyou
@hushhushyou 4 жыл бұрын
Jess Mansilla While I agree that there are different methods that may work better depending on the student’s learning style, that kind of practice is better suited for a more lax environment - such as weekly classes you are paying to take. It is not suitable for competitions or idol training such as this. The industry will not hold your hand if you do not get it. That is why mentors, such as Lisa, teach the way they do. The idol industry is cut throat and it’s all about time & money - they can’t afford to adapt their teaching to fit each individual trainee. So, yes you are right, maybe that trainee could’ve excelled better if Lisa was afforded the time to help her in different way. But since this is a competition show, it just doesn’t make sense to adapt to a different method for ONE person. It’s a business at the end of the day and that kind of teaching takes time so it would be costly considering Lisa is getting paid for her time there.
@jessijanett

@@hushhushyou I just consider that this rough treatment is something that we as mere viewers have also complain about it when it's used with idols. We have seen that this much pressure with tough words can lead to terrible consequences. Despite my believes I do not want my words to be seen has me hating Lisa, for it is not the case.

Jess Mansilla I totally understand! I do not think Lisa was out of line with her teaching, but I can see how it could be perceived negatively. But I think you are fair to express the harshness of the idol industry - it’s unforgiving. I also don’t think you were hating on Lisa, so no worries :)

The trainees are divided in rankings from letters A to F. You can tell that she is more stricter with specific rank groups, cause their skills are weaker compared to the others. She is trying to get the most out of these trainees and i hope that people realize that this is what they need if they wanna make it. I’ve seen mentors being way stricter than this, this isn’t even that bad.

People don't realize that in the world of dance, you have to get the steps and the attitude prefect in an audition and you have to get it quick. If you don't get it, you get cut. It's a tough world out there in the performing arts and if you can't get it, you will be cut within a second. Lisa is showing these girls tough love and what it takes to be an idol. For those that said she's nitpicking about the smile, it's a poppy/ happy vibe song, why tf would u be dancing to songs like that with a poker face. Lisa's just trying to get her to perform according to the songs.

Thank you so much for your reaction to this video beautiful BRIS! And I really hope that you can give your attention to at least a few more videos of Lisa from this show. After all you correctly noticed that many of us see Lisa for the first time as such a strict but fair and cool teacher. And I'm insanely happy to see the other side of her.

I honestly think Lisa wasn’t that strict. I’ve watched some other shows where chinese idols were way more strict. I personally think all the judges in this survival show is a bit easy on them. Like straight of the bat, most were placed in D and F’s. And in this show many were actually in B and C’s.

I've been dance and yes it's necessary to be on beat and focus on the small details since the beginning because when u get it and it becomes muscle memory u will always do it wrong. And a bad habbit and honestly yeah she has to be strict but that the only way u will learn a Mature mind will not cry but find or ask how to fix it or do better.

It’s literally funny to me when people call her mean for criticizing them. She’s an idol that has already debuted and is popular in the industry. She’s also known for her dance ability and facials. She literally didn’t have to be there to mentor them, but she is. The least they could do is listen ( ex : when Lisa got mad at one girl for not smiling even though she’d already pointed it out that the girl needed to ).

Lisa is like my accounting teacher. She's strict, but she made sure we all got what she teached. Lisa is like that. Sure people won't like her for being strict, but she's the reason I got good grade for Accounting. Same as Lisa. She will not have her students goes out unprepared and culture-shocked with criticism and new dance moves. Lisa is training their minds to get tougher, changing their mindset that they're there to win, not to be in the spotlight and then get eliminated, either after debuted or while in the show

Everyone who's saying she isn't strict, she is. You know she is. That's her job, that's her values, that's her discipline. Absolutely nothing wrong about a mentor being strict with the intentions to improve their mentees.

the fact that ppl assume that Lisa is also strict when she teaches the rest of the members, just letting them know Lisa is only strict bcz she take it srsly imean it's a show and it's an honour for her to be one of the mentors and why would Lisa do that to her friends? they aren't trainees plus I don't think Lisa is the one who's teaching them bp are kpop idols so probably they know how to dance and sing Lisa ain't no teacher to them

If she is being nice, and haters will say “she’s too weak for train them” “why they choose lisa, she can’t train them well” and bla bla bla She and her teammates (jisoo jennie rose) on her spot rn, bcz of the hard and painful training, they had to push themselves away from their expectations. So haters, stay away from her, she know what she’s doing, she became a trainee for 5-6 years before debuting as an idol.
@joshuam8444
@joshuam8444 4 жыл бұрын
People have to remember that the trainees dance performance and etiquette is also reflected on their mentor. If they’re doing the moves wrong, it makes the choreography look ugly and who gets blamed? Lisa also, not just the trainee. And being an idol, specially in a group, is really tough, physically and emotionally. If she can’t handle Lisa being strict with her, she won’t be able to make it as a celebrity. Because people out here judging Lisa, are way more harsh than Lisa is. Props to that trainee for being tough and still going even after being told off.
@jaeminssocks
@jaeminssocks 4 жыл бұрын
She has been taught like this for 5 years of her training and now that’s she’s an idol she’s the one teaching! For this show the producers could have told her to be really harsh but off camera she probably gives encouragement but for the show she needs to look tough and mean.

lisa already has an expectation to them...those trainess came from different companys.. and being trained for years others 5 to 8 years training.. and some of them are actress rappers and models.. so expectation was there...and they need to put more effort cause that was a competition... they just have to choose the best girls to become a idol group in the future in china.. she need to be tough not to be sweethtalks all the time..

I really appreciate you supporting Lisa's strictness in the video. Women often get hated on for being tough, strict, or flat-out blunt with their criticism. Tbh I was surprised that some of the contestants said they practiced so much because they weren't dancing as precisely as I'd have expected if they had worked so hard, and if I were Lisa I'd have been disappointed. So thanks for sticking up for Lisa's tough love in the video.
