Just imagine if she decided to sing mainstream music. She would undoubtedly be world renowned and excoptionally successful, plus I bet she would have been quite original and influential as an artist 👑 Maybe it wouldn't have been good for her peace of mind overall plus she has more freedom/not as controlled.

Her belting technique is similar to Rachelle Ferrell and Chaka Khan. Even the embouchure and vowels modifications are similar. Most the lower notes below C3 sounded forced and foggy-ish. Very good belter and the head voice is amazing. And she is definitely a technician.

Lisa Fischer is the epitome of a virtuosa!!! Excellent technique in the lows, belts, mixed voice, and head voice! She has a free C#6 in mixed voice. To me she's consistent around C3/C#3~A5~Eb6/E6!!! At her best she has A2~C#6~G6!!! She's such an incredibly underrated Goddess of a vocalist!

Great video, I just wanted to add that although underutilized, Lisa’s agility is quite faster than we think. I found this super rare clip of her where she hits a C#6 and does a super fast run afterwards.. in fact I think that run in particular was the most agile riff/run she has ever shown so far, so here’s the link - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbqpq86Ivp7Wlas.html (at 53:08). This only goes to show that Lisa’s vocal prowess has yet to be fully uncovered!

@@allykelly I don't know if she beats them collectively in belting register, I prefer the trinity's midbelts and higher belts till G5, and I prefer Celine's more free belts and mix till B5, plus she has C6/C#6. I would say the trinity as a whole beats her at the belting register. But even the fact that she competes with three huge vocalists altogether is astonishing!!

Lisa is a Mezzo-Soprano based on her tessitura , just because she can hit high notes doesn’t automatically make her a soprano! Most female singers are not sopranos! A true soprano is very rare!

Does a vocalist stay with the same vocal fach (I may be incorrect using some terms) while getting older? At the beginning you said that Lisa's lower register had got better. I wonder whether it's about her training and vocal chords' changing with age or there was a switch in her type of voice

Lisa's voice may have gotten lowered but she is still a soprano there's no significant change in her voice cuz she never experienced childbirth

From what I understand is that the voice temporarily changes after childbirth , it goes back in one year. The voice also temporarily changes if a woman is on her period.

@@allykelly There's more to singing than just chest voice and head voice, even with that some of them were stronger than her in certain areas especially if we compare them at specific times. Eg Her lows are stronger now, but are all the other parts great as they were in her youth? Ultimately, to end them she would have to decimate them in every area and that is not the case.

Great means that the note is technically optimal free and powerful Good means the note is done with good technique but still has minor issue Decent means it's has unnecessary tension/constricted but still not severe Average means that the unnecessary tension almost take over the sound quality (obstruct) Bad means the note is filled with extreme amount of tension or the note is too soft/weak

@@Dimyixx That's something you can properly measure all by yourself though, cause "basic/standard" baritone has their passagio around B3, compare it with soprano G4 (typically) and you can count, since Bb4 is 3 semitones apart from G4, just pick up baritone B3 and count up 3/4 semitones resulting in a D4/Eb4 note being average for them

You should have used low notes from each and every era. I am not impressed by old ladies singing low notes. Menopause helps a lot when it comes to the lower register. Her head voice is small in size , thin and gets strained at times , especially in the sixth octave.
