As a life-long registered Democrat, I appreciate Lisa Murkowski's moderate stance on issues that make it possible for bi-partisanship. We need more of these types of Republicans in government to fight against Maga and far-left representatives. Great story about the bracelet. I'd forgotten the efforts Murkowski faced to win re-election back in 2010. What a special gift from her husband to commemorate that win with the gold bracelet. I look forward to more great interviews by Margaret Hoover!

@@internetcomments950 I think Senator Murkowski has shown a commitment to honoring the U.S. Constitution. Does your "traitor" comment refer to the fact that Senator Murkowski does not support former President Trump? If so, I admire this fine Republican even more. It is great seeing this kind of independence regardless of any threats she may receive from the more radical elements of the Trump base.

Good morning from the very warm SF Bay Area. I am a born liberal from a very right Evangelical family. I loved Margaret the first time I saw her show and watch it regularly. I am so sorry to hear Lisa's description of her experience with Democrats on the issue of choice. We MUST find ways to work together. And anyone who opposes that odious man from being president is my friend. I never thought I would have anything in common with Liz Cheney, but by god, she is also my friend. We may not agree on certain policies but I think we all are in lock step to save our democratic form of governance. Crack on, Girls! 🥰

The term "moderate" is subjective since it can means different things to different people. One thing I can say for sure is that Ranked Choice Voting actually votes in politicians that more closely reflect what voters actually want. The two parties are cults and neither represent the electorate.

@googlenazicompany5935 The way left and right are defined seems to be fundamentally different in other nations. In the US it's more of a cultural divide whereas in Latin America it's a class and economic divide.

She seems very reasonable, shame she isn't running for the oval office. Hillary really did turn out to be clairvoyant on the basket of deplorables comment. Trump Devotion Syndrome is disturbingly erratic, shameful, shameless, and if you're still on the train it's SAD.

Perhaps you could start interviewing some with lineage from those that our ancestors wronged in this country. Where are your East asian American interviewees?? Or Native American?? I haven’t seen black interviewees in the recent lineup either. Seems like you have a long list of just elite people and Indian immigrants...

Really great interview giving the many benefits of proportional voting. This would be so helpful to the broken "democratic" voting in the USA which has been subverted by the despicable dominant political parties. Only critical thought: Please do not use false statistics (stating women earn only 79 cents for each dollar earned by men--people will get the wrong impression). There is not a private or public employer in the entire nation who pays women less than men for the same work. The 79 cents is all about women choosing NOT to work--or to work part time so they can be better Mothers/Wives, or deliberately choosing professions that pay less. I am fine with my wife NOT working. It gives us both happier lives and a happier relationship. She is NOT being underpaid. But, we are one of millions of couples that give license to people who wish to make incorrect, inflammatory, and disingenuous statements about women not being paid as much. During the disgusting plandemic period of the last 3 years much data was published showing that a higher percentage of women were working than men. Should all the unemployed older white men in America now push again for an "equal rights amendment?" The ERA may not have been passed--but the intention and provisions of it have long ago essentially become law in all 50 states. It's over. Nowhere in America in the last 40 years has a woman been paid less than a man for the same job! But, in spite of massive fiscal overspending leading to brutal Bidenomics and inflation, a few families still find despite the need for 2 incomes that their lives are better if the Moms don't work as much. Finally, there are some jobs that pay well that women themselves don't want: Fishermen, Welders, Construction workers, Loggers, Deep-sea divers, Miners, Stevedores, Cement Masons and Firefighters, etc. Women opting out of those high paying careers also lowers the average pay of women in the USA--but, again, if a woman applied for and was hired for any of those jobs--she would be paid EXACTLY the SAME as a man.The 79 cents is all about women choosing NOT to work--or to work part time so they can be better Mothers/Wives, or choosing to work in less physically demanding jobs. I am fine with my wife NOT working. It gives us both happier lives and a happier relationship. She is NOT being underpaid. But, we are one of millions of couples that give license to people who wish to make incorrect, inflammatory, and disingenuous statements about women not being paid as much. During the disgusting, treasonous, and oppressive plandemic period of the last 3 years much data was published showing that a higher percentage of women were working than men. Should all the unemployed older white men in America now push again for an "equal rights amendment?" The ERA may not have been passed--but the intention and provisions of it have long ago essentially become law in all 50 states. Nowhere in America in the last 40 years has a woman been paid less than a man for the same job. Nowhere. Get over it. Accept it. Because you look like a fool when you build a case that is logically flawed. Women in America have been thrown under the bus by our corrupt government--just like men have been. Women are paid much less than they should be--just like American Men are. Let's not manufacture more problems! We already have plenty to solve if we stick with the real ones!

@@999reader I wonder how the amendment would have any effect on equal pay. I have no experience with that topic. Most of the men that I work with have wives that earn more money. Maybe it is real, but I just don’t know where it applies. I would like to hear your thoughts. Have you been in a situation where men doing the same job as you, are more compensated? I would like to hear about that.

Lisa Murkowski, I learned from this interview, is an extremely intelligent, well-spoken, compassionate human being, unlike the majority of her fellow senators. I find myself in agreement with many of her policies and initiatives. However, her actions regarding the environment and her strong support for the fossil fuel industry, along with her alliance with Joe Manchin, a politician without a conscience, give me considerable pause regarding her judgement. Senator Murkowski is closely aligned with the National Rifle Association and with Americans for Prosperity, the latter having been funded by the Koch brothers. Since the only way to properly address the decline of the middle class and the increasingly distressing conditions of the poor in the United States is to tax the ill-gotten gains of many of the ultra-wealthy, Senator Murkowski will never be part of the solution to our nation's economic woes. She is a supporter of the war in the Ukraine, a war which was provoked, despite the claims of many, in large part by the actions of the United States and Nato, which threatens a nuclear confrontation with Russia, and which exacts a heavy toll on our economy.
