No others will ever capture that sound or even that look. True perfection.

Curly Seckler, Paul Warren on fiddle, Josh on resonator. Looks like Jake Tullock making that doghouse talk to you. And the boys singing. Notes from my late wife Shannon Burns. She has been gone now for 7 months. Seems like 7 eternities. My Shannon Marie I love you, for eternity. Your Denny. All I have left is memories and tears.

paul culver, you are so correct. I was copying from her notes and did not see an asterisk that made mention that it was Jake not Howard in this video. She left this Earth 8 months ago for a better home in heaven. God bless you for pointing out my error. God bless everyone who ever read anything she wrote. I love and miss my Shannon Burns. Your Denny.

Was surprised to hear how much slower the tempo is compared to more modern versions of this tune. Nice change of pace.

Could Earl Scruggs sing?
@tommygoldsmith8 жыл бұрын
+KevinBorgOfDeath Absolutely could and did. Very rarely sang lead, but was highly capable as a background singer, as seen in his work with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys in 1945-1948 and with Lester Flatt and the Foggy Mountain Boys 1948-1969. He concentrated on blending, so you can hear the baritone note he is singing, although it's hard to pick out the sound of his voice.
