In the winter when there is snow, almost all the trails here are track-set for class cross-country skiing, and it looks like a gorgeous place to ski. You cannot hike on this trail when the ski track is set, but all other times this is a beautiful hiking trail around a reservoir with some marshy wetlands and a creek.
The base loop hike around the reservoir is 7 km, but it can be shortened to 6 km by cutting out the south end. It can also be extended to 11 or 12 km using some other trails that I did not go on.
Trail #5 is a flat and easy 1 km, and there were little stands with a children's picture book displayed, one page every few hundred kilometres. This trail is available for hiking, even when there is cross-country skiing on the other trails.
