Mods are: HPD Trail pipe, green clutch spring, 11/42 sprocket kit with RK chain. 20" sand shark paddles. Renthal handlebars. Oil pump bypass with premixed 32:1 polaris gold oil.

Update for anyone watching recently. It's now 2022. I actually still have this machine, although trying to sell it. I can't ride solid axle bikes anymore. I have a grizzly 700 now and it does really well in the dunes. A friend took his stock trailblazer 250 out here to little sahara a couple of months ago.....it would barely move in the sand. Just doesn't have enough wheel speed without the exhaust on it.

Hey just wondering what length chain did you use for the 11/42 gearing? Im doing the same to my TB 250 right now and am wondering on this, and did it give it a lot more torque off the line? Thanks!

@@218films7 I don't know the chain length. It's a custom install anyway, so buy factory length +10, and cut it down as needed. You need a chain breaker tool and I used an angle grinder to grind off the rivet. I prefer the snap-style master links to the press-fit. DID chain is what I used and it was still running strong 10 years later. If you think it is stretching, it is most likely not stretch, but the eccentric is moving....replace the two nylon nuts on the eccentric adjuster.

@veedubu The kit with clutch spring is about $350. It is a huge difference. I would buy the aftermarket clutch spring first, and also the 11/42 sprocket kit with a RK X-Ring chain. Spend that $100 first, then figure out if you want to goof with the pipe for an extra 300.

@907hondaquadracer Suspension is plush. Rear is around 10 inches of travel, front is around 8. Any brand aluminum wheels you recommend?

i would recomend getting aluminum wheels for it, saves alot of weight

it will save around 5 pounds or so on each wheel depending which brand and type of wheels you get. it might give you a bit of top end. how is the suspension on these?

@ALVIN123ish Max horsepower goes from 22 to 30. check out the dyno chart on hpd-inc.com

how good is the suspension? im 15 and i pay for all my stuff. i race a honda trx250ex and i want to move up but im not allowed to get a 450. how easy does it bottom out?
