You learn a lot more from mistakes. Should white not have capilized more after capturing the b7 pawn, or was a draw the most he could have mustered with perfect play on both sides?

always mistakes to learn from! The engine gives white +0.3 after taking on b7, so yeah position is still a draw with perfect play. I think it's because black's king is quite safe on f8, the queen is a target, and the semi open files on the queen side give black plenty of counter play (which actually won us the game)
