You should add a category to your wins, losses, etc. list called Shanks. 😂 He’s already become a thing in our house. For instance, when any of us low elo people make a surprisingly good move, we “Shanks it” or “Pulled a Shanks.” 😂 (For anyone who doesn’t get it, it’s a reference to a surprisingly good 800 from a video or two ago.)

He pulled like 10 good moves very quickly, played like a 2000 rated player To be fair the joke opening left Nelson a queen down

1:03:24, tactic completely overlooked to win both the bishop and the rook. Knight takes bishop check, either move the king makes walks into another fork with the night that wins The rook

@user-ej7sr3ow8b9 ай бұрын
An important point of ICBM is that if your opponent has pushed the e-pawn, then immediately retreat the queen after capturing the queen. Otherwise, Bb4+/Bb5+ will be a check with a discovered attack on the queen

Maybe at 1000 you can still have the wheel but for playing actual openings. That's what I thought the wheel was for originally, so I kinda want to see that.
@kruksog9 ай бұрын
I'm interested in how you would implement that. There's just so many possible moves in any given opening position, it's hard to say you're going to play any given opening for sure, you know.
@zzzaphod85079 ай бұрын
Yes, with not quite as many things as appeared on the wheel last time.

He could only do openings he knows, otherwise he’d have to cheat. From what I gather, he doesn’t have a lot of opening knowledge.

Hi Nelson, great content thanks so much for your efforts. I watched the whole rapid series and I now started the blitz. Wanted to let you know that the sound alert for new members or super chatting might be a little too loud. Keep up the great work!

Remember to warm up before working out!! It was surprising to me how much that makes a diff when you're older. And you might like sitting on an exercise ball vs a chair. You bounce, you balance, you move all the time.

interesting gambits and interesting takeways as usual

Modern scandi, and blackmar deimer gambit is what i play. I basically try the plat the blackmar deimer gambit as black, giving up a couple pawns for better position, sacrifices depending on what they play, and basically attack from first move and take them out of their openin knowledge in a few moves, 1200 and climbing, 57 percent win percentage, 2450 in puzzles, 42 in survival, openings make for a fun game...and rarely go to end game, somebody is getting mated or resigning, lol. Also love the hippo n the oppsite spectrum! Did new acccount using nothin but hippo for hundreds of games, white and black, and had over 55 plus percent win rate, super solid, and can attack, great opening!
