"If I do what I want, I'm being selfish - but if I do what *you* want, you're not being selfish?" That is the best reply I've heard so far, to respond to someone who accuses you of being selfish for living your dream.

Hi Bob, I subscribe to you 2 years ago. You have a good heart. I'm embarrassed to hear that some Christians are rude to you. I appreciate all that you do for others. You help me, I'm now a nomads myself, some of my friends thought of me that I'm crazy to move in my vehicle. They didn't stop me. I'm no longer slaving myself. I used to have three jobs to make ends meet, so I can pay my rent, now no more. I pay myself now. I no longer pay my landlord/landlady. I'm free and no longer slaving around making other people rich. God bless you in everything that you do for others.

Unfortunately, too many so called Christians have an ego problem. The "Pharaceutical" syndrom. Sad. I plan to go back into my van again as the rent has exploded and will be going up soon again and leave m we dirt poor. I've had enough.

I heard you say there was a band of women who sort of travel together in their separate units. Can you talk about that alittle. Also, is 4WD a must have? I watch ALL your videos. I'm really close to buying something. I just can't decide to get a separate camp trailer or a one piece unit. Any suggestions?

All you need to be a nomad is a reliable vehicle that you can sleep in comfortably... every thing else is extra. You want to cook ? then you need cooking items, you want a bathroom ? then you need something to that end. As long as you can sleep well, you can eat out or make sandwiches, use public facilities/gyms, etc, for hygiene, and just carry what you want or need in your vehicle to make you comfortable/happy. In the beginning , just take short trips/overnights until you see what you need or want from this lifestyle. Then you can expand upon your experiences. Happy trails !!

Live your life, live YOUR dream, you only get 1 ride thru life so make it count. 3 of Our 4 children thought we had lost our minds, but we are living OUR dream with NO regrets. We reached a point in our lives where we were so mentally & physically exhausted, depressed, angry, experiencing actual physical pain & difficulties caused by our stress & depression, miserable day in & out, running on the hamster wheel and getting no where spiritually, physically, mentally or emotionally that we had a choice to make... Either get busy living or get busy dying. We chose LIVING ! We have never wished to go back ! That old life seems sureal, like a bad movie.. We wish you god speed & Good journeys if you decide to go for it !

Bob - Thank you for your generosity and excellent information ! I'm 64, disabled by chronic pain, done with my 2nd round of cancer, and realized I've not done anything for myself since I bought a sweater 3 yrs ago ☺. It's been a devastating year for me, and watching these videos keeps me looking forward to doing something other than being ill and feeling lost. My biggest fears are if the motor/engine /transmission, etc breaks down, and personal safety. It's exciting to think of going on the road, seeing nature, meeting people, and doing something for myself. I raised my kids singly, put myself through college, worked 2 jobs for many years. I was so busy, I never thought of doing for me. I'm not sure if in my case, this will be doable, but I've lost my focus in life and this idea has actually restored it. I went to your website and only got to the first answer as to why you do this and it struck me like lightning-(to help seniors, etc...) I got choked up right away. Your reasonings are so selfless, non assuming, and compassionate. I wanted you to know how deeply touched I am with your kindness. If I'm not able to make it on the homes on wheels lifestyle, I will continue to support you in any way I'm able. Thank you so much Bob - you are a priceless gem 💎

Hi Kate , my mind set for purging is not to focus on what I am getting rid of, instead focus on what I am keeping. I set up my bedroom with the dimensions my van offers for space. Then I only allow possessions into this amount of living space. (It is my true space). Then you can realize reality of your square footage. My next comment to myself is "do I want to live in my Camper Van or own this particular item?" I am going full time on the 20th, this has been effective for me. Hope to see you on the open roads.

🤣🤣🤣 I know this was 2 yes ago but your response is hilarious. I hope you were able to divorce your stuff and hit the road. I am currently starting my list of what I already have and what I’ll need to succeed. I’m going shopping at thrift and dollar stores with a friend today to see if I can find a few items I will need. And I’ve already started downsizing. I am in my late 60’s and I’m looking at “stuff” as things I can’t take with me now or later so chunk it.

Bob, As a Mother of 5 grown children and a Christian, I was moved to tears today as you spoke of Christians ( or so they call themselves) that would dare to scold you for speaking of moms that need to follow their dreams. Please accept my apology on their behalf for such selfish comments. You’re doing a great work and you give courage to all who are ready to break the mold of status quo . I had an ant problem once-- I'd been parking with my front bumper moved up into a plant bed every night. I guess my van looked good to them. In any case, I was shocked-- thousands of the little boogers. I bought a package of ant traps. I can't remember how many in the package, but I think at least four. I put them wherever I found the ants and within hours they were gone.

In my car , SUV since May of this year. Going great! Urban, stealth camping due to still full time employed. The one HUGE drawback is that I will still be working full time for probably 10 more years...... can I live in my car that long? I will NOT want to pay rent anywhere ever again. .......... Maybe move to a van in the next few years and live in it forever!

Tracy Ramos - Watch one of Bob's "no build builds". All you need to start is a bed (a cot will work), a toilet system (5 gallon bucket system), something to sit on and something to cook with, plus your clothes, etc. I met a lady at the RTR who had recently purchased a cargo van. Her bed was built on plastic bins. Her kitchen was a counter made from cardboard set on plastic storage units. Her entire build was temporary as she tried things out to see how it worked for her. Cardboard is free. It cuts easily. You can modify it to meet your needs. Good luck.

Still a year or so out but definitely will be embracing a nomadic lifestyle. interested in learning as much as I can about solar so am looking forward to your sessions on that subject.

As a CDL-A truck driver I like to think I'm pretty nomadic. My address that i use currently is a shelter in my home town. Otherwise i live in the semi. At 24 years old it doesn't really bother me, I've lived in my cars since 18 pretty much. I was able to live in a 2000 square feet house and it drove me nuts, it was way too much. I found that my happiest moments despite being in crappy situations was when I was living in my car.
