I may have said this before, but it bears saying again that all the band members are just gentle, amazing people. I'm the type of person that gets really nervous when meeting celebrities that I greatly admire, and the first time I met Nightwish, Marko was the first one sitting at the table and he spoke to me first, asking how I was and even extended his hand to me for a handshake before I handed him the album I wanted him to sign, and that took my nervousness away. So I've always appreciated that fact about him. I was actually able to converse like a normal person instead of being tongue-tied due to nerves. 😆

As was suggested in chat, I recommend reacting to High Hopes, their cover (rather a tribute) to Pink Floyd from their 2005 End of an Era concert. This features Marko as Tarja is backstage doing an outfit change. - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atV1d9GHyr-9qYE.html One of the things that make this performance even more powerful to me is the fact that this was the last show with their original singer, Tarja. There was a lot of turmoil within the band at that time, and at the end of that show, Tarja was going to be handed her dismissal letter, a fact that was known by all members of the band, except Tarja herself. Thus, this particular performance has a special vibe. It could have been the final show of Nightwish, the night their High Hopes were dashed.

So sorry I missed the livestream. My favorite Marko song and high on my list of Nightwish songs. A beautiful ode to innocent young love. The lyrics are so beautiful and poetic. Marko's voice so vulnerable and emotional. As Ruby said this song makes me nostalgic for my 18 year old self with all the hope I had to meet the perfect girl that I could love and go through life with. Then Floor comes in with those gorgeous harmonies, especially on the last chorus. So beautiful and then the ninja onions come. Lovely show Christi.

Thanks, Christi. I usually avoid livestreams ... a bit to chaotic for my tastes, but I enjoyed this time with you and your "family." Such an amazingly touching song, and your reaction at the end touched my heart. I found great solace in KZfaq reactions during the pandemic, and especially Nightwish. I usually prefer just watching, but somehow, for this one, I joined in. It was very nice to see you read my messages, because I have great respect for your humanity and presence. Too bad Marko is no longer in the band. I always feel nostalgic with older songs. On Wednesday, December 14, my cousin and I went to a Nightwish concert in Arena Gliwice. I've been listening to them for 17 years. And we had the opportunity to hear an acoustic version of the song "Our Decades In the Sun". It was a beautiful and magical experience when everyone turned on flashlights on their phones. The lyrics to this song are also beautiful. And as Floor said this song is special and with Christmas coming up we should be sending each other lots of love which I 100% agree with. Greetings from Poland.

Hi Christee. This is such a lovely and moving performance by Marko and I loved your reaction to this wonderful performance. Thank you so much for this. BTW, Nightwish started performing their wonderful song, "Our Decades in the Sun" live for the first time ever, adding this lovely acoustic version to their setlist. You mentioned wanting to see what Tuomas could do with a full orchestra. Well you kind of can (not live though). Tuomas composed a full length soundtrack with The London Philharmonic Orchestra for a movie that doesn't exist at least for the time being. He is a big Disney fan and especially of the real Donald Duck comics that for some reason are not really a thing in the US as it is in Europe (Nothing to do with Duck Tales). He made the soundtrack for Don Rosa's "Life and Times of Scrooge" which is basically the story of Scrooge McDuck before he became rich. He mentioned in an interview that he has always heard the music in his head while reading the book and wanted to hear (and let others hear) what it would actually sound like in reality. There are two songs people have mostly reacted to. First one is A Lifetime of Adventure, which was chosen as a single because it is basically the only track with a normal song structure and vocals. The other one published as "a single" by Nuclear Blast is "The Last Sled". Personally though I think this album should be listened to in one go and as whole. Oof crying here too ha. I've been on the phone all night with my friend. Her brother succumbed to 20 years of addiction. Just horrible & Xmas will always hold that now at this time of year. This is my first Xmas without my mate who passed 6 months ago. I would do anything for 1 more hug. It's been a year (or 3). This time of year is hard cos it's like the forced happy stuff can get too much when you're not feeling it

Hi Christi, I am following your channel already for a long time and I really enjoy your lovely reactions, like this one. This wonderful song was written by Tuomas and Marko for a Finnish movie, Jukka joined the guys for this „project“ and the result is wonderful. Floor and Marko together are unbelievable , I miss Marko. Who knows, because the band decided to have a break during 2024, it would be great to see him back in NW. Nightwish is a cheatcode and not in a negative way. They are packed full of talent, they are perfect!. Floor ist the perfect female vocalist, I can compare her only to Freddy Mercury! Its wase amezing, DOEGIE 🤘🤘❤️my 2 daughters had a birthday present for me, the three of us went to Nigthwisch and they have heard of it and that I was crazy about it of course, but they danced gehaedbank, sung, jumped and laughed was in one word great. while the three of us (were sitting) on seating areas, because I have difficulty walking, but all the people around us have laughed, they have now become absolute fans❤️🤘🤘

If you really like Marco, you should check out his original band Tarot. Formed mid 80's he basically brought heavy metal to Finland as there wasn't many bands bar one that wasn't considered hard rock. A favourite of mine is Tarot - Stigmata (I feel for you) - unplugged with his brother. Just two guitars and his voice. This was recorded in the 90's, where his voice was at its best (before a botched vocal surgery in the mid 90's). tech description : the eBow sets up a moving magnetic field which induces motion in a metal (magnetically responsive) string. You can get a intensity-swell by moving it closer to the string, and reduce the intensity by moving away. (former EE/musician)

Oddly, the only time I've thought that Marco's vocals weren't right for the moment was his Phantom. It just was right for the material I'm afraid. But everything else I've heard him do has been perfect of course.

Very very good reaction. But this should have been your first. The next I recommend is "Bless the Child" live at Wachen 2013. Then Nemo from the same show, then "Ghetsemane" live in Buenos Aires 2018 along with The Carpenter and Deep Silent complete from the same Buenos Aires show. Then I recommend Weak Fantasy and The Islander live in Tampere 2015 and then 7 Days to the Wolves and Yours is an Empty Hope from the Wembley 2015 show. All of them are live shows. If you wanna see more of Floor or Marco on their own check out Floor's randition of Let it Snow the Disney song part 1 and 2, M83 and Shallow. From Marco The voice of my Father is an amazing amazing song he has. 1 vote more too to High Hopes (the version with best quality, from Nigthwish channel: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oL6EoMtpy6nDgoU.html - the other versions are from the same concert but worse quality) A song to grief : "Adios", by Diana Navarro (you did 'El Perdón') kzfaq.info/get/bejne/brd8gsRh39y3fHU.html i added lyrics in english My wife died 2 years ago... and to this day, it is still painful: I feel the emptiness next to me after 30 years of her occupying that space. I continue to cry every time I hear Diana's song... just imagining that it is my wife's voice saying goodbye PS: Hope you react to that two beautiful songs.. some day.
