The politicians tried to ban rap bc they claimed it promoted violence among young people. But you can't stop the flow. Rap soon went around the world. The beat is what gets you. Love it. For me though if was a whole lot better back in the day with the OG'S. . 🤗

Kendrick Lamar's set was sending a message. You know the Black Panther Party started in Oakland, CA. I think his set was to appease the public enemy type fans, who didn't care for the west coast rap gangsta rap. I wonder if Kendrick had any say. His dancers were dressed with Dr. Dre slashes across their body and the boxes they were in said Dr. Dre--not Kendrick Lamar. So people like me didn't know his music, so I paid more attention to the older black male dancers who were doing alot of black panther type saluting. It was symbolic

Hiphop has had such an impact on most of Europe. When I was a teenager in the late 90s / early 2000s here in Germany most of us were listening to the west coast hiphop. Of course, we weren't able to relate to many themes like the struggle of black people. But even for us it felt empowering, just in a different way. Watching this show I had goosebumps the entire time. It's a disgrace that this music wasn't given the superbowl half time stage way earlier than 2022.

The fact that rap and hip hop were created in the U.S., and have been some of the most popular genres for 10+ years, and this is the first time it's been center-stage at a half time show is wild to me. Also, a 2Pac hologram woulda been mad distasteful, I'm glad they didn't do it --- plus, they didn't need it lol. Edit: the most popular genre since the mid 90's lol my b

Everything fell into place with this super bowl halftime show. It was in LA, new Sofi stadium, the rams where in it. The NFL could not have asked for more.

Did anybody ever point out or notice that at the very end the dancers were doing a synchronized cryp walk! 😆 Lol and the NFL told Snoop Dogg that he couldn’t wear a black bandanna in his back pocket to represent the Crips. So what did he do? He wore the whole damn colors as his outfit! And cryp walked too lol. They told Eminem not to take a knee, what did Eminem do he took a knee lol. They didn’t listen to shit! They were like nope. We’re gonna do what we are going to do lol. And Snoop Dogg is the only person I know who can literally smoke a blunt in your face during an interview and at the same time be best friends with Martha Stewart. Kendricks performance was insane. The way that he moves, I loved his moves and he chose the right song, he looked so fly, he was amazing. It was like watching a concert. And they were so synchronized. The whole thing was a damn concert! And 50 Cent as a surprise performance was sold out. And FYI Eminem caught half of his performance just so that 50 Cent could perform. And another fun fact, Jay Z put this together and Dr. Dre paid money out of his own pocket to make this happen.
