After Hurricane Katrina I spent about a year in the New Orleans area.....St. Bernard Parish. I came back to Tennessee with a love for Zydeco music. Rosy Ledet is another you should hear..... This is truly an awesome song!!!!!

This isn't what I would call the best example of Cajun. The fiddle player, Joel Savoy, is a well known modern Cajun fiddler. You could search videos of his family, The Savoy Family Band, to hear some good Cajun. But you really should search Doug Kershaw playing "Jolie Blon".

I keep coming back to this song. My heart starts singing every time. Boy I wish I could live in Louisiana in stead of Belgium. You can't find this marvelous rooted kind of music here.

@@ltjuglans194 Cajun comes from the word Acadian, an ethnic group living in the states of Louisiana and Texas, and in the Canadian maritimes provinces consisting in part of the descendants of the original Acadian exiles. After 1764, many exiled Acadians from Canada finally settled in Louisiana, which had been transferred by France to Spain at the end of the French and Indian War. The Cajuns make up a significant portion of south Louisiana's population and have had an enormous impact on the state's culture.

Nadine Landry. She's married to the guy playing acoustic, Sammy Lind, who is the hottest fiddle player ever. The mandolin player, Caleb Klauder, and his wife Reeb Willms, are in a band called Foghorn Stringband with Lind and Landry, and they're outstanding.
