Every time I remind the gossip queens and detractors that I don’t touch the stuff, they find yet another way to push back and advance the narrative. This is why 99% of the time, I simply don’t engage this topic. My message is about “putting back in, what the modern world left out” to return our people back to strength, health and happiness. It’s about creating unstoppable momentum to a better life (bc what our people are doing today isn't working). I wholeheartedly appreciate the introduction to your followers so that more great humans can learn about the ancestral message. Let’s raise the bar and do some goddam good in this world. Grateful as hell!

Anyone who suddenly appears on any fitness scene looking huge has to have a huge asterisk attached to them. Even athletes who are tested regularly once they started competing - what did they do to get into competitive shape before anyone thought of testing them? Large muscle mass is easier to maintain than to obtain.

I don't care about the natty or not argument, but specifically with the liver king I do question the morality of him pushing eating raw foods that have shown to cause illnesses or even death. Also, I question the hypocrisy behind living an ancestral lifestyle while he appears to live in what appears to me as luxury. He uses money to get some exotic what I assume are high quality foods while there may be some less fortunate people following his lifestyle that maybe can't get the same food but still following him in principle with low quality foods in a more poor environment leading to other health issues. That's my problem with the liver king.

He may also be getting his organ meat and bone marrow from sustainably sourced meat or organic meat that's typically more expensive and very high quality. Where other people may be utilizing cheaper forms of meat with lesser inspection standards. Yes, this is pretty much speculation, but it doesn't sound far fetched to me. Even if it's just a slight possibility, there's a decent chance of someone getting sick or dying. Also, the money thing may be a moot point because raw meat still commonly causes illness.

My only concern: eat whatever you want, just please be careful if you eat raw or even undercooked venison, particularly if you live west of the Mississippi, the Northwest or Northeast. Really, anywhere where CWD or prions have been documented. Never eat raw or undercooked wild hogs. Everyone is already aware of the potential risk of eating raw or undercooked regular "grocery store" foods. Wild doesn't necessarily mean safe. Also, just because animals, particularly birds eat something does not mean humans can. Hell, Robins eat poison ivy seed fruit. Give that a shot and tell us about it.

Liver King's schtick seems to be: grow a beard, do several cycles of a massive stack, take your shirt off, tell people to eat raw meat and spend time outside and build a community of other people that want to grow beards / do massive stacks / hang out with their shirts off / eat raw meat / spend time outside. (Fire Island seems like his mecca.) Why do people buy into this performative bullshit? None of this is new. None of it is original. It is not polished or well presented. Where does the audience for this come from? The overarching principles are good, but even good ideas taken to an extreme drift into absurdity, and this guy sails past absurd straight into caricature. I guess it's a way to earn a living doing what you enjoy? There are worse things. I have an issue with people repping a 'natural' lifestyle that are obviously not natural. It's just as bad as the fitness ads showing people on a nordic track that very definitely did not get to that level of fitness by riding a nordic track 20 mins a day, 3x a week. It is false advertising, and it should be identified as such.

Uncooked eggs (from aviary species at least) have a chemical called avidin which apparently prevents the absorption of nutriments (at least to some level). I used to add raw eggs and egg white in my protein shakes myself until I learned that. Knowledge of fire and in turn, cooking, and in turn, nutriment absorption efficiency, is what gave humans an edge over other hominids (at least to a very large extent).

@boronguy
@boronguy 2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, avidin is a protein that specifically binds to biotin, and very strongly. The egg (probably) uses it as an antibiotic of sort because bacteria need biotin. This means that any biotin taken together with the raw egg will be bound to this protein up to saturation. However, foods eaten hours appart without eggs will absorb just fine. Now liver king just happens to eat a lot of liver wich is abundant in biotin. Even if he ate this together with eggs it should have more biotin than the avidin can bind. So his daily intake should be more than sufficient even if a part of its absorbtion is blocked. Not defending liver king here btw, just that raw eggs are fine.

I think the "dragon in the garage" idea is ultimately right. You can't stop them. But I think "call outs" are useful and important as long as it's within the structure of providing context for people who actually want to learn. I'm not inclined to get wrapped up in profiles like Liver King, etc, but if not for people like BioLayne, MPMD, Dr Mike and friends from RP Strength, Dr Nadolsky providing solid info about the realities of strength training, diet, fat loss and setting expectations on what is possible with and without PEDs it would be a lot harder to sift thru the bullshit. It's because of "call outs" I found the information I needed to completely turn my life around

Great points Zack! My two cents is this: I don't know that there's anything wrong with fitness call-outs per se, or "capitalizing" on the popularity of BS artists, but a lot of the time I can't escape the feeling that it's preaching to the choir. I think a good example is Layne Norton. Call-outs are a huge part of what he does, but I feel like his follower base, on average, is made up of savvier individuals and not necessarily those who would fall for the BS that is being peddled by the target of the call-out. Hope that makes sense, and I don't mean to devalue the work that Layne and other brilliant people do of debunking pseudoscience, either. I simply wonder whether the call-outs always reach the people they need to reach, or do so to a sufficient extent.

This poses the point of what is most important for the people in the health industry that want to spread the truth - work harder to substantiate scientific claims, or do more in terms of outreach. Of course, it may not be the fault of people like Layne that his followers are already savvy, as exposing the truth and reminding everyone the road to progress is just hard work isn't always sexy or appealing to a larger audience. That's why I respect the way that he and others can almost seem desperate in their requests that what they do be shared, because I'm sure the algorithm that dictates who sees what does not shine the light on the effort these contributors put in very often.

Eating breakfast (salt bagel with butter). There are some instances where calling people out works. For example, someone with very little knowledge of fitness might get into CrossFit to look better naked. Chances are they the might, depending on their starting level of fitness and aesthetics. The issue is that many of the people at the top of the CrossFit game are on PEDs. Folks have to know that going in so that they aren't disappointed by the results of training. All of this can be applied to Wim Hoff, eating raw meat, any other fad diet or lifestyle choice. Most people are not going to look like liver king doing what he advertises.

Lucikly, that's not how it is from my understanding. If Derek from MPMD is to be believed, then steroids are pretty ineffectual if you are: -a person not predisposed to build muscle -not training well -not eating well -not sleeping well And it's a balancing act. So if his genetics are, say, top 20%(I think this is a good estimate), his sleeping and training are both controlled then the diet can't be too bad. Maybe it's somewhat unhealthy but not something like stuff that'd kill you
@111kino
@111kino 2 жыл бұрын
@@ataraxia2894 Yeah, no. It's about drug response to steroids and muscle insertions. Roids make it so that your sleep can be shit and your hormones arent affected. As for diet, it's individual based at the end of the day as even Ronnie Coleman was able to pack on a lot of quality size by eating what would give many people high blood pressure (amongst other things). Kali Muscle has almost always promoted a way worse diet and David Laid is kinda notorious for struggling to eat more than 1 meal a day. And genetics have a lot of components not just "good/mediocre/bad". John Meadows had a really good response to steroids in terms of building muscle, but he had a genetically weak heart. Chris Bumstead is said to have a similar issue. Kali Muscle also supposedly has always had heart problems(as much as you can take his word on anything) and he clearly has chronic nasal congestion/pathway issues. CT Fletcher also has hereditary heart problems. Wouldn't be surprised if lots of "genetically blessed" bodybuilders are similar.

I’d say most of the blame is to be placed on fake nattys, who just praise their “elite genetics” when in reality it’s the gear they use and the gear users, who downplay the immense benefits steroids give you.

it's actually really easy you take an observed drug test. unless you're actually an elite athlete connected to some industry that makes legitimate money, the idea that you have access to substances that can pass a drug test of any caliber is pretty insane. the "dragon in my garage" argument only really works when you're countering somebody's supernatural claims. sagan wasn't really a fan of the whole "god" idea.
@ataraxia2894
@ataraxia2894 2 жыл бұрын
@@iancollishaw3330 not so. My knowledge on this is limited,but the way tests are cheated isn't often through "novel" compounds. This is due to the fact that the compounds decompose and some compounds decompose in a few hours. So you'll only catch them red handed in this period. Otherwise, you'll need to measure the ratio of the byproducts of the compound like epitestosterone compared to that person's natural test levels. But some people are naturally predisposed to having a lower epiT/T ratio so the extra byproduct merely brings their levels to normal. In this case you need to map out their genetic profile by testing them multiple times to get a grasp on their baseline. There are also carbon dating tests but I don't know how it works and it's expensive. After the compound has decomposed, it's akin to trying to find what type of cancer a patient has due to the internal complexity of the human body.

@@ataraxia2894 ok, so you've outlined a hypothetical way to prove that someone is clean barring the concept of novel compounds that only elite athletes and superstars would even have access to the point for the dragon in my garage argument is that there is no process by which you can determine the truth of the matter, because you continually redefine the dragon outside of the bounds of physical law and the reaches of scientific inquiry. it's pointing out the nonsensical nature of unfalsifiable ideas, because you wouldn't "buy" the dragon I was selling out of my garage so why would you accept the notion of "the soul" or whatever.

Some people have the opinion that what people like The Liver King is doing isn't really hurting anybody, so just let them be. My problem with this is that it can lead people to overfocus on things that won't really make a big difference for your health. On top of that, there is the issue that some might assume that you can reach his aesthetic by eating the way he does, which is probably not true.

Dude, So many young men don't know what's possible and not possible being natural athletes. Its like slowly learning something from place to place where everyone he asks has a sneer about what he doesn't know. It can make someone with passion feel foolish. Youre making money off criticizing him but he's making money off misleading people. He's just one more person misleading people down the road of athletic heartache for his own gain. Your content is not gimmicky, btw, when compared to the rest of stuff on youtube.

Here a nice meta thought for you. Due to the nature of algorythimns, the calling out of these people booths their exposre on the platforms and actually contributes to their fame. If they weren't getting called out, many people would never have heard of these people and they probably would not be as popular as they are.

In my opinion he gives a lot of ideas on stuff to do, but doesn’t give his followers practical strategies to eat the way he does at a reasonable price point. Or even say where you can buy the stuff. MPMD does a lot of videos on other topics too. He’s helping dudes keep their hairlines.

I’m chowing down on a monster mash, courtesy of Stan Efferding. Interesting to note that Stan has really solidified himself as someone who will stay in the fitness industry and whose legacy will stand the test of time. Probably due to the fact that he’s open and honest and doesn’t hide behind any lies. Like he’s admitted to steroid use I believe and nobody bats an eye cuz he’s an open book and his information actually works. I think if Liver King ever makes his content a little bit more honest and doesn’t showboat and create these universal truths, he could maintain a legacy, but for now he’s just a clickbait page.

Even if Liver King is gimmicky and somewhat over the top, I think there is a reason hes so attractive to people right now aside from his appearance. His timing is perfect. With a rise in government manipulation (or atleast awareness of it) people are also wary of how many of the things we've come to accept as a society might actually be detrimental to our minds, bodies, and families. I think he, and the other people who have been brought up in his rise to fame, are helping people be more comfortable exploring alternative ways of living in an ultimate pursuit of health. Whether or not his method is the best or even correct, he is pushing us all forward merely by being a strong force in the health and fitness space.

The natty or not argument is sort of annoying bc like you said it doesn’t really matter. I can’t remember who said it, but one should really compare themselves to themselves and stop worry about others. Everyone should do your own research about supplements, foods, etc. and decide what works for you. The only time I have a problem with steroid use is when someone is competing in a sport where the use is prohibited or where they say something like, “you can look like me when you take this supplement.”

A few thoughts: 1. Liver king was 475k @ 1:00 and went to 476k at 3:00 when Zack talked about it so holy sm*ke 2. Zack may do “gimmicky shit” and make money off it but also produces *quality content, for free. Years worth of game for fucking free. If you’re boosting algorithm, you better have something to offer. It’s only wrong when clout demons show one thing, and then sell another. Example, Joel Seedman shows nothing but chaos-anti-chaos but claims his program is “mainly the basics”, which is deception, and his methodology as a whole is bullshit. 3. Liver King probably isn’t natty, but is obviously on top of his shit. He puts in the work, but if he remained natty, consumers wouldn’t consume his content because he’s not freakishly large, and I think that’s a consumer fault and not his own. As I said, so long as he’s not selling Snake Oil, using gimmicks to get your message out isn’t so bad, everybody does it.

after watching liver king podcast on impaulsive he said that what fizique he has now its 25years of hard work . so even if he is lying not using steroids he still has a point because if you never got into sport and you know that people requires 10 years to learn and master any skill 25 years sounds believable with never heard diet like he is using raw food and his supplements combined makes image that with barbarian training and eating and his lifestyle after 25 years you can have similar body its possible . thanks for video

It doesn’t matter if you work out for 25 years. You don’t just keep getting bigger and look like a juice head like the liver king. It’s laughable to think he’s natural regardless of how long he’s lifted. And there’s nothing special about his diet or raw food. There’s no nutrients in it that you can’t get through regular food and supplementation. He’s lying and conning naive people to make millions. It’s extremely obvious to anyone with any experience and knowledge on both lifting and nutrition.
